NHL Highlights | Bruins vs. Senators – October 27, 2025

Back-to-back situations for both teams. We’ll get to it. Puck is down. Sit back and enjoy Prime Monday Night Hockey tonight from Canada’s capital. Off the face off, it comes out to center. Building it. Just I’m not sure if it was the atmosphere as an away player or what, but it was just hard to get the game going. A steal. Morgan Geeki with a shot. He scores. Morgan Geeki who’s red hot. He’s on a rip right now to start his season. 1654 left to go in the opening period. Boston off and running. Marco Sturm. You see this little play at the line. It’s intended to be a bump back to speed and it just didn’t come off the stick right there by Zetland. And look who’s got it. The wrong guy. He’s always down the left side as a left winger, right-handed shot. And that’s a perfect shot. But what a look at it right here. And you know what, Joe? I mean my question as a defenseman if you got the puck behind the net can you be direct instead of over two in that situation and maybe if it’s not they’re clear Joe maybe it’s just really firm instead. Yeah, that’s a great point. And you know that’s how quick Here’s a chance. Swayman says no on Bathson who was set up by Tim Stutzla. Bath down low. An opportunity. Cousins kept out by Swayman. Slung back now and carried in by Stutsla. Dylan Cousins double team. Sanderson walks it to the outside. Here’s a chance. Sway cuts up big. They score on the rebound. The Senators get to it. They have a Red Hawk player, Drake Bathson, in the right place at the right time to tie this one here. This second unit as they get inside and you can see that middle lane drive allows it to get set up. But how about the battle at the top and then Drake Raffles, boy, he just knows where to be. He’s an intelligent player, underrated passer, and he’s here opportunistic on that back door. And Jody is that thing got worked up to the top. I mean, it’s Sanderson there. Most guys maybe make the pass right away. A couple strides by him and that just lose his edge. Jano gets help here and Boston will rag it out to center. Fraser Mitten, the former Toronto Maple Leaf, walks in. Shut down. Carolina holding his ground on that one. Nikita Zadorov, who’s a towering figure. He’ll get it out to center. Zaka Harbbitz with a shot. Nice stop by Marilinan. Tied at one. Heavoy shoved off it by Men Paulo. Paul Giru with a self pass at Dandy. Here come the sends. Giru cuts across beautifully. Has a chance right down Broadway. Shut down twice by Swayman. Spent a lot of time tuning up his skates and his son is not doing that himself. He’s staying away from some of the details that his dad was into. shorter stick for each period. Gates had to be sharpened a certain way and Levy Marilyn will play it to the outside. Sanderson wheeling from his own zone. He shakes free of Morgan Geek who has Boston’s goal. Now it’s brought deeper in the zone. They tip it home. Shane Pinto at the top of the crease on a beautiful combination play and it’s Claru that was lurking out in front and the veteran gets the goal. Oh, Jaru. I mean, he’s had a great start to this game. How about Sanderson here? Nice stick work there to keep that stick away from getting the puck and then making the play and then Jeru is usually the passer here. He’s going to the net and he’s completely twisted up, but he’s got his stick on the ice and that’s the key. Go to the nice play by Sanderson. Zoo will take over and the sends will get out of dodge. Here they come out to center over the line in the zone. A do drag by Pinto Wade in stopped by Sway off the iron. The follow up by Claroo teams and you know each team won in different ways but Ottawa was so great in Washington. Astronaut sneaks in for a shot. Great stop by Carolina. Makavoy goes deep. But it’s about validating their last two and Ottawa is doing Yeah, exactly right. And you know Boston’s only down by one shot right here. You know what I mean? like it’s they have a great goalender in Swayman covers up a lot of their warts but you can see what the coaches want is more than like how Ottawa Here’s a chance they score Drake Bther gets a gift his second goal tonight with a 3-1 lead a heck of a save but then the Senators go to work one play then the pass across the ice and now watch the white jerseys here they all get sucked down there to try to make this play and they’ve had a tough time making plays out of their own end. Four guys below the goal line and not the right guy in front. And that’s their top deep pair, Joe. You’re just going to continue to make it tough tougher and tougher for them. And what a spot for one of the hottest guys, too. Yeah. You know, right? Different. Different. He gets it. I mean, includes everyone. Said hi to everyone in our booth. Time to take a picture and sign an autograph for US. You’d have to say that. Dylan Cousins, Drake Bathson will tap it back. He has two goals tonight. Sanderson brings it along. They hinge in and they score. Tim Stenc 5 seconds into the power play. Ottawa by three. Jake Sanderson here. He sets this up much like he did with the first goal for the Ottawa Senators. Shooting threat. Watch how close he gets in here. He comes right into your screen and then kicks it wide and stolen just rips it. And Joe, I I like where Sanderson starts there. He’s he’s on his off side, but he’s not paced against the wall and you got a good centerman in to win that thing. He’s already six, seven ft off and then the freeze for the second time. But Stutzel, that’s a bullet. You’re beating a really Ottawa man up to the goal line. Back Cousins will take it in. Sanderson with a shot. It’s tipped in the slot. Tim Stutz with a magic wand. Power play goal. 1027 left. I mean, there’s never a bad option to give it back to Jake Sanderson. You can see Cousins here. He dips out a little bit higher. That pulls the Bruins out a little bit more. And now he’s going to do the same thing. But this little clever pass as he gets Zako over there out of position. It’s all a setup. to get the puck to Sanderson and he just does this. That’s got to be frustrating for a goalender, right, who’s staring that thing down. Completely changes direction, but it loses. Tipped wide off a defensive stick and now floated out by Henry Okiharu. Jensen right back. Here come the sends. Studs with a shot off the blocker. Swayman loose. They score. Nick Cousins bounces on that one. And with 738 left, the sends pour it on. Execution on making the next play to get out of their own end. And they’re reacting here. And this looks like just a simple play to neutral ice. And as the Bruins are looking to get things going. It’s right back down the other way. Five jerseys there, but no urgency to bear down and find that puck to get it first. And Cousins on the spot. And that that’s just unacceptable from the standpoint of the Boston Bruins. [Music] Hicks dash. I hope you concur with me. That would be a Halloween special, would it not? Okay, there’s a shot and another goal. They’ll change the subject. The Senators and a strike on a power play from Fabian Centerling. They lead 71. Power play. Of course, Bo Joo is in the middle of this entry. Looks way off to the right side of your screen, sitting in the weeds. And Jaru time that screen perfectly, too. Yeah, he he got a lot on that. It was fluttering just a touch, too, as you see this thing come off of his stick, but you’re right, Joe. It’s taking away the eyes and he was happy. We talked to Travis Green about him. I mean, doesn’t have any problem. They will take all of those smiles off to Chicago. Take on the improved Chicago Blackhawks tomorrow night. Ottawa Boston goes home. They will see the New York Islanders. Tanner Jano for Fraser Mitten. They’ll bring it ahead. Shot taken. They score. Victor Arvidson from the high slot with just under 10 seconds left. And here as the clock’s ticking down, you can see Arson just says, “Forget it. I’m just going to whip this at the net.” I think he’s zeltza. You watch that play at the line. Nice play. You know what that reminds me of just a little bit, guys? We You talked about a Swede there that’s got a heck of a slap shot and Daniel Albertson. Arbitson’s one of the rare guys left in the game that gets his slap shot slap shot off as good as anyone. It’s sort of a ding thing, but I think they might be looking to challenge and I think that’s why Arbbitson is having this long look over going I think that’s [Applause] the dreaded. I think you know what guys I think we’re looking at Arbitson maybe on the other side as well. It’s not just Minton here on the close side. It’s after review the play was deemed to be a good goal. Oh well, guess what? All right. All right. The puck is cleared in off the back of the goal. 3 seconds left and the Ottawa Senators coming off their win Saturday and won three in a row. Four of their last six. [Applause] [Music]

Drake Batherson and Tim Stutzle each had two goals and three points on the night, Leevi Merilainen made 26 stops, and the Ottawa Senators cruised to a 7-2 win over the Boston Bruins.

  1. Swayman has had zero interest in playing hockey since he got paid. Thankfully, I have had zero interest in watching when he's in net. Hopefully they figure out a way to trade him without costing the team too much in either salary cap or draft picks.

  2. I was at the game… thought it was gonna be a banger when the Bruins scored first on their first shot too. Game got boring during the second period

  3. Holy frap Bruins are bad last 2 years. Ever since they had to split up Ullmark and Swayman and got rid of key players. It might be a few more seasons before they're playoff bound.

  4. Бостон – отдадим Ульмарка – великолепная идея! А Свейман не потянул роль первого номера. Так же как и Корписало. А вот Оттава в этом сезоне пошумит! Великолепная игра сенаторов!

  5. I can’t watch the bruins anymore. This defense is garbage (offense is ok, geekie is doing good) but holy hell the defense and swayman both sucked. How do you let in 7 goals on 24 shots when we had MORE shots than the sens AND they had the goalie who let in 7 goals when they played buffalo. It’s ridiculous.

  6. What a punk move by Travis Green to challenge that Boston's goal with 9 seconds leading 7-1. The ref decided the call was going to stand before he even looked at the tape. Man, what a loser.
