🚨The Miami Heat Win Against The NY Knicks Just Got 100x Better After Seeing This!
[Music] The Miami Heat may very well be legit this season. It’s been only three games. Heat are two and one and after they beat the Knicks at home in the opener in the Casayiah Center. I’m telling you what, the Heat may be a force in the Eastern Conference. I’m Nick Rolloff. This is the Heat Report by Chad Sports. That was as good of a regular season win that I have seen Miami have in a long time. We have talked about the offense for Miami, and we will certainly get into that on today’s show, but I mentioned on our Saturday video that the game against the Grizzlies was so encouraging. Even the loss against the Magic was so encouraging because the pace has been outstanding. The Heat offense has been efficient and the transition opportunities that we’ve seen Miami take advantage of has been second to none. But I said, “All right, we’ve done it against two average, two slightly above average teams in the Magic and Grizzlies.” Can we do it against an elite team in the NBA? a team that was projected to win the Eastern Conference, a team that top five in NBA title odds. Can you do it against them? And the Heat rose to the call, beat the challenge, beat the Knicks pretty handily. And we saw a lot of good takeaways that we need to discuss on today’s show. And if you are fired up about the Heat’s two in one start this season, smash that like button. We should get over 500 likes on today’s show. I’m loving what I’m seeing. The Hat are a fun, good basketball team right now. You should be excited. And the offensive display showed me that this offense is for real, no matter the opponent. The Knicks through three games of the season where they have played us, the uh Cavaliers and Celtics have a top five defensive rating in the NBA. Miami was still able to put up 115 points, very respectable. And yeah, we saw dominating offensive outputs against the Magic 121, the Grizzlies 146, but scoring 115 against the Knicks tells you no matter what type of team you play, what time type of defense you play, this offense should still be able to score on the regular. I mean, the Heat in their first two games played at an exuberant pace, 111.5 and 113 against the Grizzlies. Unheard of from an Eric Folster team. Well, the Knicks game on Sunday was exactly how you would have anticipated. And yes, the Knicks are playing with a little bit more pace under Mike Brown than they did with Tom Tivido, but this is still a team that doesn’t run a ton. If they get a turnover or a long rebound, yeah, they’ll run. But if they don’t, they will play slow and play gritty physical basketball. And you see the difference between the first two games to the third game, a much slower paced game. Yet Miami was still able to find easy looks by playing quick when they were able to and getting out in transition. I mean, through three games of the NBA season, the Miami Heat have the number one pace in basketball. This is something we talked about in the preseason in training camp. The Heat want to play this way with a more youthful roster, but we were nervous that it was just all talk talk and they weren’t actually going to do it. Well, they have through the first week of the year. And I want to go back to this game against the Knicks. That pace was a very much different game than the first two. It was much more slowed down and halfcourt type of offense. Yet Miami still was able to have 31 fast break points. How impressive is it that Miami, despite playing a slow paced game against the Knicks, still was able to have 31 fast break points? It just speaks to how efficient Miami is playing right now in transition. And when they get those opportunities on a turnover, a long rebound, they are wasting no time. Outlet, let’s go. Or if it’s Hakez, Yoic, Bam, Powell, they get the rebound. Let’s go. Cuz everybody besides KL Wear can dribble the ball and take the ball up the floor. I mean, outscoring the Knicks yesterday in the fast break battle 31-10 is unheard of. And honestly, if you just look at the numbers from this game, you would have never believed Miami would win. If I told you the Heat got outshot by 15 and outshot from three by 17 and outrebounded offensively by seven and two for the game. Knicks rebounded 52, Heat 50. But specifically, offensive rebounds went the Knicks way by seven. You got outshot by 15 from the field, 17 from three, and you were outrebounded on the offensive end by seven. Yet, you still won not by a random buzzer beater. No, you got up 18 in the fourth quarter and ended up winning by eight. The stats from this game tell you you lose, yet you won at home in convincing fashion. This is a game Miami doesn’t come close to winning a year ago. Not even close. Honestly, if they had the exact numbers a year ago, they probably lose this game by 10 or 15. But they won by eight. It just tells you how different this team is. The balanced offensive attack, their ability to get to the free throw line, create open looks, and knock them down because they are playing so much quicker. It’s truly a sight to behold. Three games into the season. How you feeling about this Heat team? All I need is one word. You can give me a lot of words in the chat if you want, but I’m going to only ask for one. Go down in the comments and show me. How about this, too? I wanted to show this little graphic here. The Miami Heat offense. And that little blue bubble on the right is last season on the left. And that little red bubble up top is this season. This is a chart that shows the amount of picks set per game compared to the isolations per game. Isolations going up, picks going right. The Heat have looked like a different organization. They have like I don’t think we have ever seen, although it’s only three games, a phil uh philosophy change just like the Heat has. They’ve gone from one of the slowest, okay, we’re going to set a lot of picks. No iso ball teams in the NBA to all right iso ball. Let’s go. We don’t need picks. Get out in transition. Take advantage of mismatches when the defensive comes back and doesn’t really get fully set. I mean, shout out to AllNBA podcast for that graphic. But they also made this note, too. Through three games, we have averaged 22 on ball picks per 100 possessions. Just look at this next bar here. 37.9 is the fewest in a season average per game or for 100 possessions since the tracking era. Miami is 16 below that. That will obviously increase as the season goes on. The game on Friday against the Grizzlies, the Heat set 10 on ball picks. That’s the lowest in the NBA in I think ever. Maybe. I I think I saw that. It it’s truly hard to fathom the shift in philosophy on the offensive end of the floor. Maybe it is personnel. I talked about that on Saturday on how without Jimmy Butler, who is a historically slow moving paced offensive player, a ball stopper, if you will, where the Heat could have a lot of ball movement. It would get to Jimmy and he would pass up a shot and hold the ball for 5 seconds, drive and then kick in and compared to this team which is all right. We’re not holding the ball at all. There’s only been three players I think that have held the ball on average for more than three seconds. Hame Hakez Jr., DaVon Mitchell, and I’m forgetting the other third I saw, but it’s those two in two of those three are guys who bring the ball up. So, it’s like this is a team that isn’t ball stopping. We’re touching. We’re going. I’ve talked about playing like the Indiana Pacers offensively so much. It’s truly the blueprint for success for Miami. It is because if you play like the Pacers, you get so many more opportunities at scoring. Like you just get so many more shots up usually. You also don’t have a true superstar offensively just like the Pacers don’t. So playing that way helps. I mean, through three games, you’re third in defensive rating, third in net rating, and 11th in offensive rating. How crazy is this? The Heat have the number one pace in the NBA. They are one of the most efficient transition basketball teams in the NBA, yet are still able to have the third best defensive rating. So, this is the best of both worlds. This is the golden era, the one pathway, to quote Doctor Strange, to success. You are still having so far the same defensive success that you would expect and hope from an Eric Bolsterled team, yet you are incorporating that fast-paced offense. So, you’re not letting the offense in that new pace found dictate a poor defense. No, you’re still allowing yourself to be good defensively, but you’re now just being better offensively. It’s so fun to watch. It really is. And a fascinating storyline here. I I’m really intrigued to see how this progresses. How will they incorporate Tyler Herro into this offense when he returns? Because yeah, he had a career year last season, but Miami is finding more offensive success in these three games than they did at any time last season. And I anytime. And I love Tyler a lot, but he he’s got a little Jimmy to him. Not that he’d pass up shots, but in terms of stopping the ball movement, he likes to have the ball in his hands. It’s why he was so productive last season is because with Jimmy Butler being traded out, Tyler Herro was the main guy offensively who was given the rock and said, “All right, go make stuff happen.” Like look at the last three years for Tyler Hero. on the left possessions per game where he has a pick and roll screen as the ball handler. On the right is the frequency percentage. So over the last three years, he has had above 30% pick and roll frequency as the ball handler. But we just showed the graphic a couple minutes ago how infrequently the Heat are running pick and rolls. Are are you going to change that philosophy when hero returns? I hope not because this Heat offense has been sensational without the pick and roll. So, I just am gonna be curious to see how this looks when hero returns. Also, who starts and who doesn’t because I don’t think like right now the way Dave Mitchell and Norman Powell are playing like it’s hard to bench one of them. But are you bringing Hero off the bench? That’s not going to fly with him. Probably not going to do that. And you’re not moving Wiggins to the bench either because you’re not going to go that small. Like it is just going to I I don’t envy Eric Spolster’s job because if Miami continues to have this offensive success and the Heat continue to win games, how are you going to incorporate Hero back into this lineup and offense and it’s going to be a tough one to behold. I just hope it doesn’t f with the success Miami has if we continue to have it. Of course, more coming up here in a second, but this episode is brought to you by Prize Picks. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. As we’ve talked about the offense and the pace for Miami through the first three games, you also can’t undersell how the bench in second unit has really transcended these games for Miami. I mean, they have been absolutely awesome off the bench for the Heat. And it all starts with Haime Hakees Jr. and Simone Fontacio. Those two have been the sixth, seventh, eighth man for Miami. Nico has been the seventh. We’ll get to him here in a second. But Hakez through three games is playing 27.7 minutes a night. Look at the efficiency. He hasn’t been able to knock down a three yet, and hopefully that comes, but they have used him as the secondary creator off the bench and initiator of the offense. It didn’t look good in the preseason when they’d used Haime like this, but it has been nothing but awesome for him so far. He’s getting to the rim. He’s getting inside the paint with ease. It It has just been a sight. You know, he looks like we would have imagined him looking last season in his sophomore year after an unbelievably good rookie year. and the new style of Miami might benefit him more than anyone else on this Heat team. Like seriously, Haime getting out in transition, him being able to attack mismatches and get to the rack when the defense isn’t set is allowing him to be a full difference maker. But it also is vice versa. Like the fast-paced style works for Haime, but Haime also makes the fast-paced style work because his ability to get a rebound and go and attack smaller defenders, collapsing the defense allows him to kick it out for shooters like Norman Powell. Like, we’ve seen Norman Powell knock down multiple threes in the first three games of the year wide open in transition. And it feels like Norman Powell never misses a step in transition three at least to start the year. Hak has been a differencemaker for Miami in such a big way. But also, can we go back to Simone Fonteio here? I mean, I said it like, and this is one of the I wouldn’t say rare times because I’m right a lot, but I was I could go wrong. Couldn’t have been more right for Fonteo this early. 20 minutes a game for Simone. He’s shooting 50% from three. Is that going to continue? No. But he his confidence looks otherworldly. He is taking heat checks off the bench. I’m not going to say he’s better than Duncan Robinson because that’s not the case. But for $7 8 million less per season, he’s giving you borderline the same production and better defense cuz he is a little bit longer and more athletic on that end. Like those two have been absolutely sensational off the bench and Miami probably isn’t two- one without those contributions from them. So you hope that that continues. We’re going to get to Nicole Yoic here in a second, but hit that sub button for daily heat content. We’re going to be live again tomorrow for Heat Hornets only stream this week because unfortunately the Dolphins played Sunday. That’s when the Heat played the Knicks and they play on Thursday against the Ravens and that’s when the Heat play the Spurs. Would have loved to do that Heat Spurs webinama’s dream. But either way, we’ll be live on Tuesday. Subscribe today for more content. But let’s get to Nicole Yoic as well because he has now joined this second unit and these reserve guys because he started the opener against the Magic and then they’ve started KL Wear with them the last couple of games and Nico off the bench he just simply looks way more comfortable. 27 minutes against the Grizzlies off the bench on Friday and 25 minutes yesterday against the Knicks. Now, obviously, he was much better on the stat sheet against the Grizzlies, but his impact against the Knicks arguably was better. Now, he was a plus 33 against the Grizzlies and only a plus 10 against the Knicks, but I just feel as if the Heat can utilize Nico in so many different ways. And we saw the Heat close. Like it’s so interesting to me that the Heat have had different closing lineups in the first three games. And yeah, there wasn’t really a need to close because the Grizzlies game was so out of ham. But the final group of five for Miami against the Magic was Davi Mitchell, Powell Wiggins, Hakez, and Bam. Against the Knicks, it was Bam Yovic, Powell, Wiggins, and DaVon. Like I think they’re just gonna ride the hot hand, probably also go with more size late in games as most teams do, but Nico is so versatile because against a team like New York who outside of Jaylen Brunson has a ton of size. They go with Cap, they go with Hart, OG, Muel Bridges, like those are 65, 66, 68, sevenfooters alongside Brunson. Yoic provides that for Miami because he’s 610 alongside Bamead Abio. Like I thought he would be vital in the starting five without Tyler Herro because of his playmaking size and shooting, but his play style maybe just fits more off the bench with the second unit because that’s where he thrived last season prior to his injury was with that second unit. like him coming off of the bench and being a creator and jolt of energy in transition just has looked like his niche spot in the NBA. It looks like that may be the case for him though. But let me know, you make the call. Should the Heat start Nicole Yoic or have him come off the bench? Type S for start, type B for bench. Looks like he will be a reserve player going forward, which I don’t think is the biggest issue. I actually think that’s the best thing for him and Miami. Let’s round out the show with this. Heater two and one. I said if that he could go five and five in the first 10 games, I would be pretty happy with that without Tyler Hero. I want to be greedy now because we’re two and one. You should be able to beat the Hornets at home on Tuesday to get to three and one. Here are the next 10 games for Miami. Let’s hope they do beat Charlotte and go three and one. Can you go two and two on this four-game road trip against the Spurs, Lakers, Clippers, and Nuggets? Two and two would be great because if you’re three and one going into that trip, a five and three record after the first eight games, and then you got home games against the Hornets and Blazers, you could be six and four, seven and three in the first 10 games without Tyler. You’re also going to play a Luca Donuchist Lakers team this upcoming Sunday as he’s out with a leg contusion. Can you go one and two if you beat the Lakers against the Spurs, Clippers or Nuggets? I think that’s very possible. And then you play the Hornets, Blazers, Cavs on a four game home stand. Like you have a tough schedule, but you also have a beautiful opportunity ahead of you. This team just proved that they can beat anyone. I mean, they beat the Knicks without Tyler Herro at home. And I don’t want to glaze the Knicks too much, but this is a team that has NBA title aspirations in New York. If you do not make the NBA finals this year, that would be considered a disappointing season. That is how Knicks fans feel. I think that’s how most of the NBA feels around the New York Knicks. So, you beat them. So, now you have proven to me you can beat anybody, whether it’s the Nuggets, Spurs, Lakers, or Clippers. It don’t matter. Let’s go out. Let’s go win some ball games and have a winning record through our first 10 games. Let’s go six and four, seven and three. And then we showed that 10ame stretch. Tyler Hero should be able to return a week after that. And then if he comes back and integrates himself nicely, oh boy, we might really be dangerous. We’ll be here every step of the way. So subscribe and join the channel. I’ll see you tomorrow for that watch party. Go heat. [Music]

Let’s go heat
Such a fun team! Their offense is great! The one thing they need to fix to be a historic offense is take Bam out of the offensive equation. He is statistically the team’s worst offensive player (outside of Larsson) & is taking the 2nd most shots… That’s BAD MATH.
He just needs to be the role player glue guy elite defensive player he was always meant to be.
Shooting 33% & having 6 turnovers is AWFUL offense 😂😂😂
Which is surprisingly worse than the 42% shooting the game before
ROLLY GANG NOTI GANG. WE BEAT THE KNICKS!!!
The comedy of being worried about Herro in the starting unit when the starting unit isn’t even good 😂😂. The Heat are only winning because of their bench
Crazy thing is I think Kapsaras can take it too another level ofc he may not play but his playmaking can really generate a lot more offense off the bench.
Contender
Go
I guess you could say the Miami Heat should keep up the pace 😜
Tyler will only benefit the squad. He plays well on and off the ball. If he’s given the green light like everyone else, I’m sure he’s more than happy to put them up. I’ve been high all summer on this squad. Tons of talent. Getting more confident closing games and not losing big leads is the key thing I want to see improved this year. Wiggins is super underrated as well. Super hype for this year and to see the team grow together 🔥
Trade Herro!!!!
Tyler will be fine. He just needs to take over end of games and when the offense is stagnant. Nothing wrong without the p&r being worked in either.
I dont think Herro stops the ball. He was playing at the pace that was forced on the Heat by J.Butler. New Heat. New Herro. He has adapted and gotten better every year. This year will be no different.
Make it sound like the pacers created that style of play! 😂
Showtime lakers, 7 seconds or less suns under mile d’antonie and the 2011 Miami Heat! They used to get out and run!
HEAT
JUST GOT LUCKY
PERIOD
WE WILL SEE IN APRIL 2026
PACE…PACE….PACE… RUN AND GUN Offense is FUN to watch. The vomitfest that was theJimmy Butler offense was painful to watch. Thank the lord he is gone….. 31 to 11 in fast break points. 🔥🔥🔥 …. Jaime has been a revelation. Norm has fit like a glove. As the resident Niko stan, his shooting percentage wasnt great in this game, but loving the 5 rebounds, 5 assists, and good defense. Shooting 45% and 40% from 3 and 90% from the line is excellent. Hes only gonna get better as the year goes along. I want him starting and more importantly finishing gamees. We need to make him more of a focal point of the offense if he is gonna reach his full potential here.
Excited so far but most teams are still in preseason mode. Let’s see how they look after playing 7 more games. Should have a better idea if they are serious or not after that stretch. Let’s go Heat
Brilliant
Heatnation 🔥 🔥 🔥
I had a lot of opinions of who i thought the Heat needed to trade, what the offense should look like, but the reality of who they are is even better than my wildest dreams.
I don’t even really get it. They look fantastic.
I gave Bam so much grief this offseason, decided what he was and wasn’t, and he has been phenomenal as a leader. He is earning that contract in my mind. Getting to the line at critical moments in games to cool opposing offenses down…really high IQ game psychology stuff that good vets and leaders are supposed to bring. The stats can show whatever…he has been the heart and soul of this squad, the best player on the team, and I will happily give him his flowers.
This new offense has changed everything. First off, it’s just so much fun to watch. Everything looks purposeful, aggressive as hell, everyone looks connected. It’s beautiful. Everyone is putting their individual stamp on every game. Everyone’s strengths are shining in their roles. No weak links, and it’s still waiting for Ware to take the next step and make us scary as all hell. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
Jaime man…he has really been the story of it all. I thought he needed to get off the ball, but he has just been an absolute battering ram in that second unit. Not only did he shake that bad season off, he is playing by far the best basketball of his young career, and his game is REALLY fun to watch. I LOVE his game right now.
All in all, after just 3 games, this team has shut up all my complaining. They play with pride and it shows. They play like a team that got embarrassed last year, and I needed to see that. I have no idea how they went from that Cavs series to a team that looks like an obvious contender, but my hats off to the vision and leadership of this organization.
Thank you for giving us this team playing this kind of basketball. It’s awesome!
Let’s add two pretty good bigs too or at least one really good one! Herro and Powell on the same floor will benefit them even more as they can stretch the defense to open more lanes for the other players.
Trade Herro for a better big
You incorporate Herro by trading him
This is still the right time to trade herro. Clearly we can now put up points now so getting a good forward or collecting a pick
you're getting overly excited after 3 games.
Would now be the perfect time to go after Markkanen? If Rozier’s contract comes off the books, we can trade Tyler for him and absorb the extra money. Move Ware to the bench and get some world class shooting in the front court with Bam without giving up size. I think Markkanen would fit great with this style and with our Euro-heavy roster.
That or Naz Reid? I like Tyler, but if we don’t need his offense, we certainly don’t need his defense and we could use one more big man.
The surprise of the season , willl be Jaime taking that leap. Sounds wild to say early on after game 3. However, I’ve seen enough from him and Understanding of his game and the game in general. If Miami makes a deep run, it’s cause Jaime Became thy dude. He’s ball handling is so underrated to me .
Move Wiggins to the bench
Herro has always been a 6man guy in my eyes. I honestly never liked him in the starting lineup
