Hebert: Undisciplined Saints head wrong direction in embarrassing loss to Bucs

Well, I don’t know. Don’t you have to score to win? That that’d be good. I mean, how many games uh maybe you can win three to two uh but you know, if you only scoring three points, uh you have to score and um you know, nothing to write home about cuz uh our defense now great goal line stance when you look at that that that was monumental. But when you know we get a great goal line stance, then we got a pick six. uh you know, you take a short field. You take one step forward, uh two steps back, then all of a sudden you’re losing seven to zero. So, it’s just a lot of undisiplined. Um we have like, you know, eight penalties. We have still stupid penalties. We don’t know how to line up. We in the NFL, we pros. They may practice OTAAS, mini camp, training camp. Um you look alignment. Uh it’s amazing and and it’s so frustrated when you get to that point. But uh the bottom line, come on. We could still be plus one and plus two might not win a game, but you’re minus three. How many games you going to win when you lose the turnover margin like that? And you know, as of late, uh this is not an opinion. The Bucks have had our number. Uh the Bucks have team has now won uh six of the past uh seven meetings. Are we as good as the Bucks? I don’t think so as of late. uh you know when you look at that and I’m going to do my math on that but you know the bottom line is that uh and the Super Dome has not been our best friend. Uh the Bucks have now won uh four of their last contests played in the Super Doome. I still think we could beat Tampa Bay. We always played Tampa better in Tampa than um than the Superdome. I I just have Keep your faith. Yeah. It’s like when we beat Tom Brady nine nothing uh one time in Tampa. you remember Taesmville turning around the game when he blocked that punt in Tampa. So, for some reason, I don’t know, we don’t play uh the Bucks, you know, good in um in the Superdome. It’s just a track record. We played a lot of games, you know, since 1977. Uh we’ve met uh we have 40 wins and now we have 27 losses. But, uh you know, the Buck overall out of all the NFL teams we’ve played, they have we have the best winning percentage against that an opponent. We had a way big lead but not as much as of late when you see uh what’s occurred uh there. But uh when you look at it uh minus three now on the turnover margin uh uh in the game uh we’re minus two for the season. It wasn’t that long ago. Remember we were plus five. Remember five straight possessions we got to take away against the Giants. We were plus five riding high. And it wasn’t that long ago and now we minus three. I mean or minus two for the season. So, uh but you look at the magic number, uh truly is like four right now. What do you mean, Bobby? Uh well, we had four turnovers today and we had four turnovers against the Bears. So, I don’t know. Are we going to have four turnovers against the Rams? Well, I can tell you you’re going to get shellacked. Uh we’re not going to have a fighting chance if you have that. Now, uh, when you look at this, what can we hang our hat on? Now, as a Saints fan, there is no aspect of the game at which right now they truly excel. You think maybe in training camp or group, I tell you what, I’ll kick it, he don’t miss. And, you know, he made a kick today. I’m glad he made it where, you know, we got three points, but there’s nothing really, what do we excel at right now? Nothing to hang our hats on. uh when the going gets tough I don’t know it seems like it was like uh we can’t go wrong will go wrong uh when you have something like positive goal one step back two two one step forward two steps back but uh look where we at offensively and we are struggling this is going into the game and we didn’t do uh any help ourselves 24th in the league in total offense 29th in scoring offense well uh you know that’s going to drop yes so uh you got to you got to score points uh 19 in total defense kind of middle pack and then 27 scoring defense. So you look at scoring offense and defense, none the right home back. And then you look, we just in the bottom half of the league in almost every other major uh situational category, whether it be third, third down, goal line, uh red zone, whatever uh you know, it might be. And you look, I had thought um look, I didn’t think this would be a good run. Like I thought best case scenario coming into the game I thought we would be instead of one and six best case like three and four. Okay. So you look three and four. I didn’t think I thought we’d beat Tampa Bay once but I necessarily think at home. So I thought we realistically let’s say if we winning we’d have lost uh today. So that’d be three and five, three and six. So uh after the Rams is that 10 games. So we’d be like three and seven you know. So when I look at that uh the outcome on that uh that you know here cuz the Tampa Bay is a Super Bowl contender in the NFC like the Rams and that’s what we have on deck. Uh so I think we’re going to be one and eight. It just is what it is. I mean I truly look at that and which would be you know okay we playing like young players. We are we training in the right direction. If we were one and eight, that would be the Saints uh organization, the franchise. Second worst start in franchise history. Whoa. Uh second worst start. Let me guess. We got to go back days. One and eight. I don’t know when it is. I know it’s a second worst start in franchise history. I think Jeff Duncan had put that out there. One and eight. And that’s a strong possibility. Now, it was be interesting to see we go at Carolina. But uh if you even look what occurred in, uh like the Bears game, this why I’m talking about like four turnovers. The Saints into the Bears game even last week is you know, oh, we’re all injured. We’re not healthy. That’s why uh you know, look Tampa Bay, who’s more beat up than Tampa Bay and the 49ers. And look, and they’re winning. But the Saints entered the Bears game is one of the healthiest and uh you know, least mistakrone teams. We were not turning over the football if you remember now as of late. Yes, we have. But we were one of the most uh least mistake uh praying uh uh uh prone teams in the league. And we had committed just four turnovers. Four turnovers going the Bears games and now the last two games, but we have eight. We got four against the Bears and four today against the Bucks. Well, obviously that’s not winning football and we definitely not good enough where you end up winning games or you’re not even going to be uh highly competitive, have a chance to win. Uh you know, like I said, right now we’re minus three in the turnover margin uh in the games, minus two for the season. Uh I don’t know, you’ll never win. I’m not saying you not never, that’s not too strong a word, but you have 51 passing attempts. Well, that means you’re playing catchup and the NFL’s too good. you you you’re not going to do anything. And to me, I’m going ask uh Kell Moore this on the coaches show. The game was still close. Uh but we still why am we not attempting to run the football? Is because we can’t run. You still got to attempt to run the football to help out the young quarterbacks. We only ended up with 15 uh rushing attempts. Now you look at Rasheed Shahed and Chris Alavi. We are targeting them. They had 24 targets. Man, that’s a lot. That’s almost like uh two games worth. So uh Rashid Shahi had 12 targets. He had nine receptions. Alave 12 targets, eight receptions. But Rashida only averaged a speech to only 8.3 yards a catch. And then Chris uh 7.9 yards. So uh I mean come on. Uh you want to talk about chunk plays, explosive plays? No. Uh we had I think one pass play Dave was it 23 yards I want to say that 28 that was o over 20 yards. Yeah we just don’t have any of those and it’s just so frustrating. The bright spot where I thought the crowd was into the game and well well yeah then they went no damn 70,000 at the game. When they say 70,000 I thought I was watching a damn preseason game. I don’t know. I’m telling you the truth. If you look at the who was in the stands, there was a lot of frustrated empty seats. It kind of looked like the LSU game in the middle of the third quarter. Hey, when when maybe not that bad when the when the fans are leaving, but if I if I look at something to cheer for and this was outstanding, our goal line stance, I mean, when you look when that occurred, okay, it’s zero to zero. We having a go. I don’t know if I haven’t seen a goal line that stance like that in a long time. And to show you that the Bucks were so arrogant that they were just running the same play right up the middle. We gonna score. We gonna score. You remember they even they had five attempts because remember they took the penalty, right? Uh you know, third and goal. I mean I it wasn’t even a half a yard at times. It was like half a yard a foot and it was fourth and goal stuff like uh five straight plays, zero yards. And then y’all y’all all fired up and you know we were minus one in the turnover margin at that point cuz you remember and I’m going get back to that when Rattler fumbled. You got to protect that football. He gained seven yards but then he got it punched out. But then wouldn’t you know I said oh man we all backed up. I hope we don’t get a safety. I was saying like I hope they don’t get us for a safety. Then we’re losing two to zero. But wait it worse. But wait no it got good though. Rattler hit Camaro plus nine yards. So we not backed up. And then the next play, uh, Rattler batted pass, interception by Anthony Nelson. Right. As you would say, not so fast. Yeah. Pick six and we’re losing seven to zero. So, it just seems like we turn a a great thing into how in the hell we losing, you know, 7 to zero. So, uh, when that happened, we end up being minus two in the turnover margin. Now, I don’t even know who that cat is. I think he’s like a seven-year veteran, but he’s not a household name for the Bucks. That Nelson guy, I want to say he’s from University of Iowa. He ended up having like, you know, four tackles, but two sacks, two quarterback hurries, two tackles for a loss, an interception, and a force fumble, you know, uh it was kind of like Chase Young plus, you know, how he gave the game ball to, but he’s on the winning end. So, uh when I I saw that, I said, I don’t know, it just seems like the ball is not bouncing our way. And Nelson was in for an injured Hassan Reic. Yeah, Hassan Reic is the household name that normally would be playing. So it shows you the depth there with this guy Nelson. I think Ed Nelson definitely earned u more playing time. Now I looked at this and people are going to ask okay u what does coach Moore do going forward uh with the quarterback? I was somewhat surprised. I thought they might wait u not necessarily at LA against the Rams but more on the road at Carolina to put Chuck to start the game. But now he’s gotten wet uh behind the you know he’s behind the ears. He’s like, “Okay, I I’ve had an opportunity now to play.” And um you know, if you look at it, he was warming up in the middle of the third quarter and I was like, “Wo um he’s taking snaps and he’s looking warming up like you don’t warm up like that in the sideline unless you’re going in.” Well, he went in with 3 minutes and 57 seconds left in the uh third quarter. Uh but I if you look at it and you know you got to protect the football and I think what’s uh why coach Moore said we needed a spark because when you look at Spitzer Rattler and that in his last six quarters and look how well he’s protecting the ball but it’s a it’s a long season. Uh he now has four interceptions and two fumbles lost in his last six quarters and he was sacked uh six times. And then just as a team, I’m telling you, we might not win another game. If we do this, eight turnovers in uh in seven quarters. So, if that trend continues against the Rams and even at their own in Carolina, you ain’t winning. We need to have a Giants type game to have a chance to win where we protecting the football and we taking it away. And still the the Giants game. Did we blow out the Giants? No. We’re plus five. That should have been a three touchdown win, but it didn’t matter as long as you win. A win is a win, but um it’s very uh humbling. You know, we’re all excited. We starting division play uh first division game. Boy, can you maybe get off the a right foot and be 1 and 0 in the NFC South even though we have two wins? Uh but not so fast. Uh Tampa Bay not Tampa Bay don’t look invincible. You know, you could see uh how they play for Todd BS, how they’re Todd BS coach team, h how they uh create turnovers. The the the look 23-3. No, the the game uh was not close when when you when you look at that. And when you look uh how about this cat and the Bucks paid him? He’s from uh the Woodlands right out of Houston. Uh you know, my brother lives over there and uh Antoine Winfield went to University of Minnesota. They paid him. That dude is a ball hawk. You know why he’s a thorn in the Saint side? You remember the damn playoff game when Jerry Cook got stripped go and we lost the game? Well, guess who did it? Uh well, guess what he did to Chris Ave? Uh fumble recovered strip. Uh that was uh Antoine Winfield. Now, when you look at before we go to break, uh this is why it’s so frustrating at times to be a local fan. Now, you got a little optimism with two lane, but what two lane’s going to do against Memphis? Okay, we’ll have to wait and see cuz they’re still in the playoff hunt. I know uh who’s not in the playoff hunt, that being the LSU uh not fighting Tigers, uh I’d have to say the sleeping tigers. Yeah, the sleeping tigers or the LSU pussycats. I mean, whatever. I mean, uh you know, you want to give the fans hope and between the Saints and LSU, uh you you’re miserable right now. and to show you how quickly things could change. That wasn’t that long ago. I remember last year, remember after two games, man, we waxed the Carolina Panthers. Remember that we crushed them? Sure. Then all of a sudden, we crushed the Cowgirls. We were the number one scoring offense in the league. Then Philadelphia comes to town and you know, we still had a great opportunity to win that. You look what occurred at in that game. That’s when McCoy went out and then all of a sudden, look how our season fell apart. Okay. Well, look at LSU this year. Now, that shows you that I don’t really know what the hell I’m talking about. Like, a number of experts don’t know. Okay, we wax uh Clemson Tigers. Oh, u uh we we have Clemson. We have Clemson. I said, man, uh even if they only had four teams in the playoffs, we’d be in the playoffs. We don’t need 12. And look how far where LSU is at right now. And you know, with Coach Kelly, much is given, much is required. He’s talking uh talking smack. after they beat Oklahoma last year, remember? And they always said, “I’m taking receipts. I’m taking receipts.” You know, I’ll see you in the natty. Uh what you going to buy a ticket to go to the national championship? No, it is very frustrating right now for the local fans. Uh there’s no fighting the Tigers and there’s so inconsistent fight u from the Saints right now.

The New Orleans Saints fell 23-3 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the brutal 2025 season just keeps getting worse, now at 1-7. But what does the Cajun Cannon Bobby Hebert have to say? Here’s his full postgame rant.

  1. as long as this team still have Olave, Juwan, and Rashid they will forever be losers. spencer rattler have better chance of winning if these 3 STOOGES as their pass catchers.

  2. Sean would've never ever put up with that lackadaisical ball security after last game. It's time to ship someone out and send a message to the team that you as a HC are not putting up with that.

  3. I'll say it now: Moore is a BUST for a head coach. Mark my words ! They'll give him 2 more years of 1-15 and he'll be back as an OC or QB coach somewhere else. Loomis failed yet AGAIN !

  4. Kellen Moore Offense is so vanilla, All those 5-15 yards out is crazy Dbs are starting to sit on that $h!t. Look at Payton First year Offense could move the ball the defense sucked, for Moore to be so call a offensive guy his play calling is so predictable

  5. bobby's problem is that he has never and will never give Mickey Loomis the criticism that he wholeheartedly deserves for the wreck that he has made of the Saints over the last 4 years . . . . . . . .

  6. The AGENDA in action! Lil Spence with an Offensive Genuis, QB GURU coach. Derek Carr, the cause of all the problems and the man singularly holding back the franchise is gone. This is what EVERY content creator, including this channel, begged for.

    Well, you got it.

This is exactly what you've been fantasizing about and begging for.

  7. Thanks for the great years Mr Sean Payton and Drew Brees, cuz those days are long gone and they definitely have the wrong coaching staff with the wrong head coach cuz that dude doesn't have a clue of what he's doing. Kamara 6 touches, Hill 3 touches, come on bro 😅😅
