NOW WE KNOW WHY CARSON WENTZ WAS GRIMACING IN INTENSE PAIN. EVERY TIME HIS LEFT ARM HIT ANYTHING ON THURSDAY NIGHT, IN THE VIKINGS CHARGERS GAME. HE SUFFERED A DISLOCATED SHOULDER LATE IN THE FIRST HALF OF THE LONDON GAME AGAINST THE BROWNS WEEK 5. THAT WAS WHEN HE DECIDED TO TAKE ON 2 GUYS. WHEN HE WAS 2 OR 3 YARDS, SHORT OF THE STICKS. AND HE TOOK A MASSIVE HIT. WE THOUGHT HE WASN’T GOING TO CONTINUE IN THAT GAME. HE DID HE SUFFERED A TORN LABRUM AND HE FRACTURED THE SOCKET, THE SHOULDER SOCKET DURING THAT GAME AND KEPT PLAYING. AND KEPT PLAYING BEYOND THAT PLAYED THROUGH THURSDAY NIGHT. NOW, THERE’S A SEPARATE MEDICAL QUESTION AS TO WHETHER OR NOT IT’S IRRESPONSIBLE FOR A TEAM, TO GOT A FRACTURED. BUT, SOCKET, IF THAT’S TRUE. ON INJURED RESERVE. HE’S DONE. I DON’T THINK HE’S BEEN PLACED THERE YET BUT HE’S DONE FOR THE YEAR AT SOME POINT. HE’LL BE OFF THE ROSTER ON IR DONE FOR THE YEAR JJ MCCARTHY, WHO SUFFERED THE HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN WEEK. 2 WILL BE BACK THIS WEEKEND. CONGRATULATIONS. YOU’RE GOING TO DETROIT JJ TO TAKE ON THE LIONS. MAX BROSMAN. THE UNDRAFTED ROOKIE FROM MINNESOTA IS THE ONLY OTHER QUARTERBACK. THEY CURRENTLY HAVE ON THE ROSTER. THEY PROBABLY NEED TO ADD A THIRD GUY FOR SUNDAY, AND FOR PRACTICE BUT YOU KNOW WHENCE HIS TIME OVER AND NOW WE FIND OUT WE TALKED ABOUT MCCARTHY EARLIER, YOU GOT TO BE ABLE TO PLAY TO BE A FRANCHISE QUARTERBACK. HE DIDN’T PLAY AT ALL LAST YEAR, BUT FOR A QUARTER OR SO OF THE PRESEASON OPENER, WHERE HE EMERGED WITH A KNEE INJURY, THAT NOBODY REALLY KNEW HOW IT HAPPENED AND THEN THIS YEAR WEEK, 2, HIGH ANKLE SPRAIN. THAT’S ALL WE’VE SEEN. WE HAD THAT MONDAY NIGHT GAME WHERE HE CAME ALIVE IN THE FOURTH QUARTER. THAT’S THE EXTENT OF THE JJ MCCARTHY NFL CAREER AND IT WILL CONTINUE ON SUNDAY AGAINST THE LIONS IN DETROIT. AND IT’S A LOT OF PRESSURE ON HIM. NOW I I THINK THEY’RE GOING TO LOOK BACK AT THIS AND SAY WE SHOULD HAVE PUT MAX BROSAMER IN THE GAME AND SEE WHAT WE GET OUT OF HIM. BECAUSE NOW, NOT ONLY DO YOU GO IN WITH JJ MCCARTHY, LIKE YOU SAID, WITH A QUARTER OF GOOD FOOTBALL, YOU ALSO GO IN WITH NO MATTER WHO YOU BRING IN ROSEMARY, I WOULD EXPECT TO BE YOUR BACKUP WHO YOU’VE ONLY SEEN IN THE PRESEASON AND IN A FEW PLAYS NOW, IN A REGULAR SEASON, WHICH TO ME OF LIKE, CARSON WENTZ. MY I DON’T THINK HE EVER REALLY DID ANYTHING LIKE THE FIRST GAME, HE PLAYED THE DEFENSE PLAYED AMAZING 2 TOUCHDOWNS ON DEFENSE LIKE AND I WAS LIKE OH CARSON WENTZ ERROR HAS BEGUN IN MINNESOTA. MAYBE THEY DON’T EVEN BRING JJ BACK. AND ONCE HE GOT THAT SHOULDER INJURY TO ME, THAT WOULD HAVE BEEN THE TIME TO SAY, HEY LET’S TURN THIS OVER TO MAX BROSAMER, SEE WHAT WE HAVE HERE AND THEN TRY TO FIGURE OUT. MAYBE WE HAVE 2 GUYS HERE THAT WE’RE NOT MAYBE IN LOVE WITH BUT WE CAN SEE EXACTLY WHAT WE HAVE AND KNOW WHAT WE MIGHT NEED TO BRING IN BECAUSE RIGHT NOW LIKE THIS QUARTERBACK, ROOM. IT’S IT’S A HUGE QUESTION MARK AND THERE’S SO MANY OTHER THINGS THAT LIKE ABOUT MINNESOTA IS JUST THE QUARTERBACK. WE JUST WE HAVE NO IDEA WHAT WE’RE GOING TO GET. THEY’RE 3 AND 4 AND IT FEELS LIKE THEY’RE WORSE THAN THAT THE QUARTERBACK PLAY. HASN’T BEEN THERE THAT HUGE WIN OVER CINCINNATI. I MEAN, THINK CARSON WENTZ, ERA, IN MINNESOTA, IT STARTS WITH THE 4810 WIN AND ENDS WITH A 3710 LOSS AND THEY’RE 3 AND 4. NOW, PROBABLY WILL BE 3 AND 5 BY SUNDAY AT 4:30 PM EASTERN. AFTER THE LIONS, GET DONE WITH BI-WEEK, BUT IT’S TIME TO SEE WHAT JJ MCCARTHY CAN DO OR NOT. DO I WROTE THAT AFTER THE GAME LAST THURSDAY NIGHT, LET’S JUST SEE. YOU GOT TO FIGURE IT OUT BECAUSE IF YOU MADE A MISTAKE YOU GOT TO DO WHAT THE COLTS DID AND ADMIT IT, YOU STILL HAVE JJ MCCARTHY UNDER CONTRACT FOR 2 MORE YEARS. I’M NOT SUGGESTING CUTTING HIM, BUT YOU GO FIND A DANIEL JONES AND YOU TRY NOT TO OBSESS OVER THE FACT THAT YOU HAD DANIEL JONES. AND YOU LET HIM GET AWAY HERE. COMES MAC JONES, MAC JONES MAC JONES UNDER CONTRACT FOR 2 MORE YEARS. WELL, THIS YEAR. AND NEXT YEAR, 49ERS AREN’T GOING TO LET HIM GO. THEY’RE GONNA HAVE TO FIND SOMEBODY FOR NEXT YEAR. IF JJ MCCARTHY ISN’T THE GUY, OR THEY’RE GONNA HAVE TO GO WITH MAX BROSEMER WHO THEY LIKE, WE BOTH KNOW, THEY LIKE HIM. AND I’VE BEEN CONFUSED LIKE, PUT HIM OUT THERE. LET’S SEE WHAT HE CAN DO,

  5. Here's what you do, you roll with JJ McCarthy as long as he's healthy, Brosmer if not. Cam Akers can be your emergency QB. If you're down that far you're losing anyway. Maybe you go out and a get a Brett Rypien or someone like that if they're available but they're basically just going to be a practice squad QB anyway. As fun as that one Josh Dobbs game was I wouldn't spend any real money or draft picks on anyone else for a lost season if McCarthy, Brosmer, and Wentz all get injured lol. Take your draft picks.

  6. Such a waste of time talking about this…This matters absolutely zero who the Vikings bring in….the team has way more issues than who the next 3rd string QB will be…jeez, slow news day huh.

  15. "There's so many other things to like about the Vikings" …. like what outside of our WR room? We have no run game, terrible O line, no pass rush, and not enough CB's. If we kept Daniel Jones or Sam Darnold we would probably have a similar record. Doesn't matter who is at QB when they have less than a second to throw every pass. Get JJ reps and start looking for a solid center to draft. Donovan Jackson was a great draft pick and when the line is healthy maybe we will look better.

  17. The Vikings offensive line can't run block or pass block, and the defense has regressed. If Patrick Mahomes was the Vikings QB1 they would still lose.

  20. The JJ situation will haunt the Vikings for years to come. Many people doubted his talent on draft day . This looks like a classic “ reach and hope “ draft choice . Over the years many NFL clubs have drafted QB ‘s who were thought to be a bit of a gamble . Most do not work out .

  24. I say play Brosmer for the rest of the year, or until McCarthy is fully healed. He made the roster as an UFA and did well in the preseason, so let's see what the kid's got. Maybe he's another coming of Brock Purdy? I mean, you don't make an NFL roster without showing some ability and talent. And at this point, the Vikings might be wise to concentrate on their future draft position instead of a playoff run, which is seemingly unlikely considering the competition in the NFC.

  26. Vikings GM screwed up the draft by selecting JJ and not taking Verse! Was JJ a GM pick or coach pick? He was probably a GM pick and coach went along with it. Absolutely terrible move in hindsight. But I am a Rams fan and I love it because we got Verse….😂

  28. Florio with that defeatist mind set the colts would have benched Peyton Manning after he had a bad first season. You're judging MCCARTHY after 2 games one of which he won NFC opow

  29. Viking should call Raiders and see about getting AOC, he smart and has a ton of experience for a guy in his third year. He does not fit in any Chip Kelly offense, but would give the them a reliable backup and can win games if called on.
