Rashan Gary: Packers ‘played good, collective ball’ vs. Steelers | PSNFF | NFL on NBC

tonight. Maybe the house is coming, Jack. Well, we hear the Rashan Gary chance as he makes his way over here, coach. And Micah Parsons gets so much attention. But Rashan Gary, the two sacks tonight, Rodney, when you watched him play, when you watch Rashawn Garry play tonight, what impressed you most about him opposite of Parson? It’s just his effort. The effort that he gives. He understands whether he’s getting double team, whether he’s getting single block, he’s going to give you full effort. I’m talking about you giving full effort every time you play. Appreciate you always. How you doing? Congratulations. The second half of this game from your perspective. How’d you guys flip this thing around? Just being consistent, understanding once again how they wanted to attack us. We knew coming into the game we had to stop the run cuz they love to be, you know, game managers. So, we knew we stopped the run, put them in negative plays to start off and, you know, have our front pin our ears back on third down, get some pressures. Uh, that’s what we wanted. So offense did a great job, special teams did a great job, defense did a great job. We played good collective ball first half and you talk about we’ve got to stop the run. They came out with that big two tight end package on the left side and that gave you a little bit of problems. Did you make an adjustment for that in the second half? Yes, sir. Uh understanding um how they want to attack us once again. Understanding when they went 12 personnel double Y off the ball that they was going to go stretch when it was regular um you know Y one on one off. We knew they wanted assist back. So just being locked in and being in tune with the game plan and just executing once again. When you watch Rogers on tape, what did you see that made you excited, man? Uh just being a former teammate of him, just understanding how he likes to work the pocket, understanding that um you know, if you get high, he’s going to step up. Uh knowing if he calls any type of pressure, it might fluster him uh to make sure the ball get out fast. But watching Aaron Rogers, man, is a it’s a Hall of Famer in real life. So just watching how smooth he set back, how he control the offense was great. But I’m just happy that we was able to come out on top. How nice is it where you’re playing opposite of Micah Parsons? He’s constantly getting double team and you get double team sometimes, too. But you taking advantage of all of those one-on-one opportunities. Yeah. Um, having a guy like Micah, um, you know, they understand they want to slide to him and if any teams want to slide to him, then let them do that. Um, you know, 52 and um, you know, we got to go hunt and vice versa. You’re chipping me, one going to get home and as you seen that today. So, shoot, I’m going we the best in the league, man. Best duel in the league. You got to be consistent and keep going. I thought your package where you put Micah inside really kind of gave them some problems. I don’t know if they were ready for that and uh it seemed to be very good for you tonight. Yeah, absolutely. Um came back to the sideline. Um Micah seen how they was blocking. Um on my second sack, we end up uh coming together, communicating, running the game and got home. So if you want to put that much attention on one, everybody else got to go eat. Talk us through this play right here, Rashan. What’s happening? Some of your favorite, some of your best moments of the night. What do you see? Yeah, just understanding once again I said Troy personnel sift back stopping it setting the edge once again. What was your favorite play that you made tonight? You made a few including the man. Uh like I said, future Hall of Famer. Happy to add him to the list. Uh got to keep going. Talk about that dog Tucker Craft man. Wow. Wow. From Monday all the way to game day. just his work, intensity, focus to detail, how he leads his uh tight end group, how he leads the offense with Jordan Love and Josh is great. So when I see him come out here, go for 140, he done did it in practice. He done routed up our uh DBs, practice squad, and he’s just consistent in everything he do. So I’m happy for his success. He’s got to keep going. And the other guy that was fantastic, and I know you guys see it every day, but Jordan Love was incredible tonight. What What was your watching him on the sideline? What are you thinking, man? when the lights is bright. Um, you know, we’ve been hearing a lot of noise throughout the whole entire week. Um, but the one thing about Jordan and the offense, they just shut their ears down, got to work. And when you have opportunities like this, man, all you ask God for is opportunity. And Jordan made the most of it. So, anytime I put my quarterback against anybody, no matter how long they played or anything, Jordan is that guy and everybody need to believe that right now. Your relationship with Mike, it’s amazing to watch it on the field, the way you two get after the quarterback collectively. your relationship off the field. How did it develop when he first got there? When you first heard about the trade, how did all that go down from your perspective? Yeah. Um, you know, losing uh Kenny Clark, it was bittersweet. Um, you know, after I got past that, I started just envisioning how great me and Micah could be, how I could compliment him and vice versa. And just going throughout the season just understanding how he like to rush. Um, understanding how they want to block us and just communicating, understanding certain times of the game, I got to be an impact and he got to be impact. So just having somebody that be just both pushing each other to be great, man, can’t beat it. Is there one thing that you came into the season and said, “I must get better at.” And that’s something that you’re working at right now. Dominated one through the fourth down. Um, you know, I’m not a one-trick pony. I stopped the run, get out the pass, and I’m a hell of a player. So that’s all I’ve been focused on. See, you are, brother. I have to cosign that statement right there. It seems like your DBs really did a good job of just jumping on things tonight. Do they have that confidence that that quarterback’s not going to have a lot of time to get deep balls in in the air with the guys? We talk about it every Thursday meeting. Um we say we’re getting right there just tightening up on the coverage. So them understanding the type of front we got, understand how they want to play uh the coverage. It’s just been great. So rushing cover coverage coming together. Talk about um defense coordinator Jeff Halfley and the position that he’s putting you guys in coming up with some of these creative defenses, man. Yeah, Jeff Hafley is a dog. uh second year um you know being our coordinator he understands his player understands his personnel and understand how offense want to attack us and he’s playing his best players in position to make plays and like I said once they come in big time uh plays in the game we’re making them and it’s all because of half this has got to be one of the most absurd away crowd showings that we have seen you guys steeler the Steelers you brought in the cheese heads you moved the terrible towels out of the way and you did the job on the field congratulations on this quick real quick how does it feel to see all that is still here for you, bro. Man, I appreciate everybody here. Go Pack, go and I’ll see y’all next week, man. Hi, I’m Mike Trico and thanks for watching.
