Texans Injury News On Nico Collins & Joe Mixon + NFL Trade Rumors: Cowboys & 49ers Want Texans LB?

[Music] Welcome into Texans Today, everybody. I’m your host, Jeremy Chugs, and coming up on today’s show, we have some Texans injury updates and maybe some lack thereof, some updates on a couple guys. Also, we have another ESPN trade idea. We’ll look at the latest going on from Espen and some Texans who they think might be on the move. Also, the Titans, they made a move today and they are in full tank mo mode. I’ll tell you about that trade and then also the ASC South outlook between the Colts, Jags, and Texans and then the Lonely Titans at the very bottom. That’ll be at the end of today’s program. Before we get going though, we are on the road to 37,000 subscribers here at Texans today. We are currently at 36,894. Quick mental math. Boop boop beep bop. We need 106 subscribers to get to 37K. I want to get there on today’s video. So, if you haven’t already, hit that subscribe button. free Texans videos all year long, weekly watch parties, and we do giveaways like almost every single week, right? Last week, we gave away a Will Anderson Jr. autographed helmet. So, if you want to be a part of that and get the best coverage of the Houston Texans, this is your one-stop shop. Hit that subscribe button, 100% free. All right, first up on today’s program, let’s look at some Texans injury updates because we had a couple guys who sat out this past week up against the 49ers. And Demo Ryan gave a a small bit of an update to insider Aaron Wilson. This is what he had to say. Hashtag Texans coach Demo Ryan said, “We’ll see how he progresses this week when asked about Nico Collins status and NFL concussion protocol.” Collins per source is doing well and trending towards return at this point. That’ll be huge because the Texans face off against the Denver Broncos this week. A much tougher task for Houston than the prior week up against the 49ers. And I think they’ll need all the help they can get and Nico Collins being their wide receiver. One would more than likely help this Texans offense who was rolling up against the 49ers, but much tougher task up against the Broncos this week than that injured 49ers defense that we faced in week eight. Also on the offensive side, still no update around Joe Mixon, but there are some interesting tidbits from the past 48 hours that we must discuss here on today’s show. I really showed y’all the timeline maybe a month ago at this point that I believe if Joe Mixon returns, it’ll be in the middle of December based on whenever he went on the NFI list, whenever everything was reported and, you know, all the injuries that he had this off season. But you were on X during that Texans 49ers game. You might have noticed prime time Joe Mixon himself was live tweeting throughout the whole game, right? And you know, he hasn’t really done that over the past four or five weeks that the Houston Texans have played. I believe before he started tweeting at the beginning of the game yesterday, he hadn’t tweeted in like or ex posted whatever in maybe like two weeks. Along with that, there was this interesting report from B. Scott. He said, “Injured Texans running back Joe Mixon is at the game today, seen at the club level and now near the locker room.” And he also added in a couple replies that he was not in a boot, did not have any crutches, was not limping. Take that with what you will, but Joe Mixon being in the facility, being at the game, not being visibly injured, that tells me I think he’ll play this season. I mean, I know there’s a difference between being able to walk around, do this, that, and the other, and actually playing an NFL game and being in NFL shape, but you can’t tell me Joe Mixon’s not in decent shape. And the fact that, you know, this injury, you know, the non-foot related injury happened in what, right before August, maybe June, July, and he’s not going to be ready to go in October, December of this year. I I I just don’t see it right. I I just don’t see Joe Mixon sitting out the entire year. The Texans, just like Christian Harris, are going to keep everything close to the vest. They’re not going to tell anybody anything unless they have to. But I do believe this is good signs to come for Joe Mixon. Now, another injury that we got to look at, Christian Kirk was out the last two weeks. And remember, he had a hamstring injury that plagued him at the very beginning of the year. He sat out the first two games. Now, he sat out the last two weeks with the hamstring injury. Is it is it like a two weeks on, two week off situation? What are we looking at with Christian Kirk? I’ll be updating you throughout the entire week with whether or not he practices and that Texans injury reports leading into this pivotal week nine game up against the Denver Broncos. But speaking of all these wide receiver injuries and couple rookies really showing out up against the 49ers, I wanted to ask you folks this question at home. Who is the second best wide receiver on the Texans? I think if I asked you the best wide receiver, most people would say Nico Collins, as you should. He is easily, in my opinion, the best receiver that the Texans have right now. But who’s that number two? Let me know down in the comments section. Some interesting answers that I might see coming through. Maybe um you know, if I just said, you know, receiving option, maybe you say Dalton Schulz, but let me know down in the comment section who the second best wide receiver on this team is. And maybe a hot take, but I think being down the receivers this past week allowed a lot of these young guys to show. And I thought it was a really good developmental game going up against an injured 49ers team. Obviously, they saw some good pieces in the secondary, but Jaylen Null being able to get more reps, Jaden Higgins being able to get more reps. I think that really helps this Texans team moving forward. Not saying, you know, injury is a good thing or not saying I don’t want to see Christian Kirk or Nico Collins out there, but I think a lot of Texans fans were really happy to see Jaden Higgins, Jaylen Null getting some of theirs this past week and being able to, you know, show why the Texans invested in both those guys with early round picks in this past year’s draft. Now, coming up, let’s talk about some trade rumors. We already mentioned these two guys were mentioned in a trade article via ESPN, Christian Harris and Christian Kirk. But I think the heat might be starting to turn up on both these guys and whether or not they’re going to be traded because guys around the chat sports office, you know, host of other teams, they’re coming to me, how much would the Texans want for Christian Harris? How much would the Texans want for Christian Kirk? So, I just wanted to kind of lay out who I think might be in the market and if there is a trade, who I think these guys might go to. First up, Christian Kirk. These are the three destinations I think are most likely for Christian Kirk to end up. The Pittsburgh Steelers. They are in desperate need of some wide receiver help behind DK Metaf. He’s their go-to guy, but behind them, Roman Wilson has played, you know, okay. And, you know, you go down the list, they don’t have a ton of, you know, super talented guys on that Steelers roster. are also the Buffalo Bills. They’re always looking for receiver help. And a sneaky one, I heard the Tampa Bay Buccaneers have been sniffing around at some wide receiver help ever since the injury to uh Mike Evans. Obviously, rookie Acha Ibuka is playing fantastic for them. But if they want to add some extra firepower for that offense in Baker Mayfield, they might look for a guy like Christian Kirk. He might be headed back to Florida. Let’s look at Christian Harris, though, the linebacker. And I think this one might be more likely because there are some teams that really need linebacker help. the Dallas Cowboys being one of them. You watched this past week, I know I was watching very closely because the Cowboys played the Broncos who the Texans play this week and uh yeah, the Cowboys defense was Swiss cheese. They were allowing anything and everything for Bonix in this Broncos offense. So, they really need some help on the defensive side. Same with the 49ers. We saw them play the Texans this week. Dwyers, their top linebacker after Fred Warner got out. He got injured in this game. So, they could definitely look for some help. And there’s a connection between Domo, Kyle Shanahan, and that front office that maybe they could work something out for a guy on on uh an expiring rookie contract. And then the Buffalo Bills, uh they need some help. Looked at it on the offense and on the defensive side. So, I think definitely these teams could be in contention if Christian Harris does get dealt. Now, coming up, the Titans fire sale has begun and they let one of their starters go for pennies on the dollar. I’ll tell you what that trade was and if the Texans could possibly snag one of those Titans players for themselves as we get into the long stretch of this NFL season. But before I talk about any trades, any Titans fire sale, talk about good deals, talk about prize picks. I love prize picks. My producer Alpert, he loves prize picks as well. And this episode is brought to you by prize pickics. The hard-hitting football action is even better with prize picks. The weather might be changing, but the feeling of being right, oh, that never gets old. So, keep up uh with the season and keep it rolling on prize picks by getting $50 instantly in lineups when you play your first $5. Prize picks super simple to play. Just pick more or less on two to six player stat projections. And if you get your picks right, you could cash in. Prize picks is the best way to get football action in more than 40 states, including California, Texas, and Georgia. And for week nine, this is the lineup that I’m rolling with. I’m going with a new feature called the stacks feature. You can actually pick the same player and go multiple projections. So, I’m going CJ Strad more on the passing yards. CJ Stroud more on the rush yards. And then the Texans defense looked amazing this past week. So, I’m going the lesses on the Broncos offensive guys. Courtland Sutton give me the less on his receiving yards and JK Dobbins the less on his rush yards. You can use my lineup or go ahead and make your own. Just do it over with our friends over at Prize Picks. Join the millions of users and sign up for America’s number one fantasy sports app out there. Download the Prize Pix app and use code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. That’s code CLNS to get $50 in lineups after you play your first $5 lineup. Prize picks. It’s good to be right. And let’s get into this Titans buyer sale. Earlier today, they already made a deal with a guy who Albert 38 starts for Tennessee. 38 starts at quarterback for Tennessee. And it’s a late round pick swap. A fifth for a six. I mean, this is, like I said, pennies on the dollar for a guy who there’s a lot of teams that need quarterback help. The Bears need quarterback help. The Cowboys, they need quarterback help as well. So, the fact that the Titans were willing to trade Roger McCreary to the Rams for a late round pick swap, definitely a little bit of a headscratching move. I know, you know, they’re not going to resign him and maybe they’re just like, we’ll take whatever we can get for him at this point, but you got to think that they might have had better suitors potentially if they held out and worked a couple different teams. But Roger McCreary moving from the ASC South going to help the LA Rams and that is definitely going to help their secondary as, you know, they’re looking to make a push in the NFC being one of the contenders on that uh conference. I I think this trade is a, you know, A+ for the Rams and maybe like a C minus D+ for the Titans. But this signifies the fire sale has officially begun. The Titans have said everyone is on the table besides Cam Ward and Jeffrey Simmons. Anybody else? Have at it. That’s what they’ve said. That’s what the front office is basically sending out to the NFL. Every other GM out there, they said, “You want them? Come get them. Anybody but Cam Warden and Jeffrey Simmons.” Yeah. Hot hot hot sale. Hot sale. Yeah, hot cakes. Hot cakes. That’s what they’re doing in Tennessee right now. So, the fact that they’re willing to let go of all these pieces tells me I mean I know it’s an inner division trade and those are much less likely, but I’ve thrown this out there multiple times and I actually said a sixth round pick before, but I’m changing it. We’re going to a seventh round pick for Chicka Conquo because if they’re just going to fire everybody, why not get a guy on an expiring contract that they don’t need, they don’t want, and that will help the Texans, they need some tight end help. And I think a Conquo can do just that. So, let me know. You making this trade for real? Yes or no? You making this deal? Let me know down in the comments section. Would you do Chig Conquo for a seventh round pick this year? Um, I should see a lot of yeses. I should see a lot of yeses down below in the comments section. All right, speaking of the Titans, let’s talk about the AFC South and the AFC South standings because you know this Colts team, I keep on hoping on their downfall and each and every single week they prove me wrong. They are seven and one to start the year. The Jags 4 and three, the Texans 3 and four, but in all reality, you know, anything is possible over these next couple weeks. And I will say the Colts have had a somewhat easy schedule. They beat the Broncos early on on a very weird leverage penalty that gave the Colts another opportunity to win the game. They ended up winning that football game after their kicker missed the initial u field goal to win that ball game. Uh the Jags are four and three, the Texans are three and four. So right there in it. So let’s take a look at these teams. Not the Titans. Nobody cares about the Titans at this point. Uh they’re they’re going to be a top five pick. Let’s look at the top three teams in the AFC South and just their schedule over the next five weeks to see what we’re looking at. So, let’s first look at the number one team in the AFC South, the Indianapolis Colts. Week nine, they play in Pittsburgh at the Pittsburgh Steelers. That’s a game right there. Then they week 10, they hop on a plane, go overseas, they’re playing the Falcons, the early game from Munich, Germany. So, you see the little German flag right there. Um, anything can happen in this one. So, I think, you know, if we’re on the rooting guide, I think Texans fans need to really tune into these two games and say, “Let’s go Steelers and let’s go Falcons because they need to rack up a couple losses. Then they go to the by-week and then it’s two tough games right at the Chiefs and then they play up against the Texans for the first time this season. So, if they could get maybe a little losing streak here, maybe four games down on this um fivegame stretch right here, which I think is very possible. They play the Fal or the Steelers, which they’re, you know, playing some good football. They beat the Packers on uh Sunday Night Football. The Falcons, I know the Falcons have been so up and down, but it’s a Germany game. Anything can happen when you when you go overseas by week. Hope hopefully they lose the bye-week. I don’t know how they do that. Um but then they play at Kansas City. Always a very tough environment. And then you have your shot at him up against the Houston Texans. The Texans will be away for this game in week 13. Let’s look at the Jaguar schedule over the next five weeks as well. They play at the Raiders. Let’s go Raiders. Come on. Let’s go Las Vegas. May maybe the Tyler Lockett trade will be exactly what Gino or the Tyler Lockett signing will be exactly what Gino Smith needed to, you know, go off in uh Las Vegas. Then we have our shot at the Jags in week 10. This is a home game for the Houston Texans. We dropped the one in Jacksonville, so we got to pick up the one in Houston. Then they play the Chargers and then uh some cupcake games at the Cardinals at the Titans. Even though I say a cupcake game at the Cardinals, the Cardinals randomly, I feel like every three weeks show up and play like a top five team in the NFL and then they go back to being, you know, mediocre and then all of a sudden you’re like, I I don’t know, this Cardinals team looks pretty good. So, the Jags next five weeks, I mean, obviously these two games right here at the Texans and then we’re all Chargers fans in week 11. And then let’s look at your Houston Texans this week up against the Denver Broncos at home and then you have a home game up against the Jags. You then play the Titans week 11 in Tennessee, which sneaky trap game here because Thursday night football, you have Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills. You will be traveling to Buffalo. So, you cannot overlook the Titans in week 11. That’s a game you should win. But this is a, you know, prototypical trap game, right? You’re looking at the team, especially on a short week. Oh, the Buffalo Bills in week 12. Cannot overlook the Titans. I don’t care how how bad they are. Remember what happened when the Texans played the Titans last year. We thought it was going to be an easy cupcake game. All this, that, and the other. Titans ended up coming to Houston and whooping our ass. So, we cannot let that happen up against the Titans again in week 11. Obviously, that week 12 Bills game. do like it that though that it’s on uh Thursday Night Football and or actually I misread that. It is a home game for the Houston Texans. It’s not an away game. It’s a home game. And I actually like that for the Texans because I feel like every Thursday night the home team has a huge advantage. You’re not having to travel on a short week. You’re able to stay at home. So the fact that you have a home game on Thursday Night Football, that’s huge. And then week 13, you played the Indianapolis Colts. So the Texans have, you know, their future, their destiny is in their own hands. If they can win out, if they can just keep on stacking these wins, they could buy for the AFC South title or a wildcard spot in the AFC. That’s all I have for you on today’s show, folks. 1. I think with Nico out, it took that tunnel vision away from CJ. He’s always looking for his safety net that Collin’s provides for him. This made CJ actually scan the field for that open receiver

  2. I’d be interested in Titans DT Sweat, that big body would help take two O-lineman to block him already and free up 51 and 55 even more.. but again I doubt that would happen

  3. Why trade Christian Harris He's young he's 24 years old not 30 like EJ speed. Yes Christian Harris's 4-year 5 million dollar contract is up this year but so is EJ speeds one year 5 million contract and he's 30

  4. i Say Let The Rookies Play Let The Rookies Play! Keep The Play Line Just Like it is But Can't Wait Tell Tank And Joe Mix Come Back But it is Good News To Hear Joe Was Walking Around At The Game it Wont Be Long GO TEXANS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  5. Second Best receiver is Xavier Hutchinson.. eventually it will be Noel but at this moment it's Hutch..at least until tank dell comes back
