Neighbours placed on injured reserve with leg injury, re-evaluation in 5 weeks

  1. I hate that “re-evaluation in 5 weeks” part of this.

Not good. Not good at all.

Anyways, anyone have some Gavin McKenna highlights?

  2. This fucking sucks man. One of the few guys actually playing great hockey this year.

Looking ahead, who gets the call up?

  3. Didn’t expect to be googling “Lucic Recovery” and “Springfield Thunderbirds Stats” in October, but here we are.

  4. Pardon the overreaction, but I just do not see it with this group.

    Only 9 games in but:

    Team lacks cohesion? *check*

    Goaltending is regressing hard? *check*

Young players might be feeling the pressure of playoff expectations? *check*

Coach of the future is un-fireable? *check*

Division is hard and lots of other teams off to great starts? *check*

Team is in dire need of a superstar? *check*

An expected-to-be-generational player is available in the draft? *check*

Said player is the cousin-by-marriage of your biggest rival’s own generational talent? *check*

and now, only big positive (Jake with 6 goals in 8games) out for over a month? *check*

My brothers and sisters in Christ, the hockey gods are trying to tell us something. The writing is on the wall in big, bold, glow in the dark letters: “Tank for McKenna”

It’s only 9 games but that’s over a tenth of the season and if things don’t improve soon, it’ll be clear that this isn’t the Blues’ year. The team has a solid enough foundation that they should be in the mix in short order and this is the chance to add the player they’ve never been able to due to the “bad” years being just outside the playoffs. The Cup is still fresh enough that a tank is acceptable, that’s not going to be the case for too much longer.

    No more mushy middle!

Play Mathieu Joseph in the top 6 and keep playing Justing Faulk the most minutes. Pump those numbers up and sell vets at the deadline. Mailloux should play every night even if he continues to be terrible. Call up Dvorsky, Stenberg, and Lindstein after the deadline. Get these guys experience and lose hard. Start next year with those three and Carbonneau and Jiricek and whoever else looks remotely close to ready.

  5. Wouldn’t hate a Dvo call up. He hasn’t looked electric in the AHL, but it’s a good opportunity to get him into a bunch of games on the third line.

  6. Oh for crying out loud.

Guys it’s my fault. O’s and Ravens fan here. Have you seen the injuries they had?
