Nick Nurse said today was Jared McCain’s second day being out of his original cast. He’s now wearing a smaller one that allows him to shoot. He’ll have to go through contact work and whatnot as well.

"It's really all about energy for him. If he's energetic and bouncy like that, he's gonna block some shots."

Nurse went on to praise Oubre's defensive versatility, and defensive rebounding, in addition to his 25 points.

Kelly Oubre Jr. says Tyrese Maxey is playing with a chip on his shoulder this year.

He called it the "most angry" he's ever seen Maxey play.

  3. Maxey is the guy. A few years in the league and he is still improving with good coaching and execution.

  4. Oubre really did have a great game start to finish. At the end it was kind of bizarre watching the Magic try and screen Oubre off Paolo. Of course, it makes sense to get the smallest guy possible on a big player like Paolo, but nobody thinks of Oubre as a defensive stalwart. And prior to that it seemed like Paolo was getting anywhere on the court he wanted to go.
