Amar’e Stoudemire on Carmelo Anthony joining the Knicks: “When Melo comes to our team, the ball is not moving as much because Melo requires a lot of attention… when he gets the basketball, he’s looking to score, so a lot of the cohesiveness somewhat faded away.”

Yup.
Dude was an absolute phenom coming out of college and for some reason, teams never caught on that he didn’t have what it took to lead a winning team in the NBA.
If he didn’t get locked into giant contracts, he could have helped so many teams as a great second option, but he was never able to be The Man.
How fucking long are they going to beat this dead horse?
We are literally Eastern Conference favorites at this point and we’re fucking talking about the Melo years? Lol
He is not lying.
If you were watching, you know what he’s talking about. We went from a very modern offense, focused on the Felton-STAT P&R and we did great. Melo is one of the best pure scorers of his era (only second to Kevin Durant), but you can’t deny how static our offense became. He’s absolutely right.
That may be fair but we had our best season, when Amare was hurt and Melo led a bunch of old guys to the semis.
No shit

The Stat/Felton 2 man game was unstoppable until Melo stopped it.
he’s 100% right
also trading away like the entire starting 5 for him didn’t help
loved Melo but his style of play wasn’t exactly conducive to winning basketball games/making his teammates around him better – part of that is because the FO never paired him with the right kind of players to maximize his skill set but he was not a good passer/defender really
