Aaron Glenn Press Conference (10/24) | New York Jets

Let me knock these injuries out uh real quick because we have a good little list of of these guys. Um and I’m going to make this easy for the guys that are out. All right, we have Kane, we have Sauce, we have Jay Tefelli, we have Cam Jones, uh Stone Smart, and Garrett Wilson will be out. All right, and the next guys, they are limited in practice today. um questionable for the game, but I really like the way these guys are trending. Uh one Tyrod, two receiver Josh, Mason Taylor, Bree Hall, uh Quant Stiggers, Jermaine Johnson, uh MC2 coming off the protocol, and uh Quincy William, who’s uh who’s been practicing with us all week. So, um, again, like the way those guys are trending, uh, when it comes to this week, uh, there’s been a focus of really, uh, three things for us, and I can see this being the focus going forward, uh, to the end of the season. Number one is, man, how do we plan and make sure we download this plan against this team to go and beat this team? Um, next now is taking that plan and executing on the field in practice to make sure we go and beat this team. And then also, man, how do we improve? How do we get 1% better as a team collectively to make sure we um we go play supportive football? Um and that’s been our plan. That’s been our focus. That’s going to continue to be our focus. Uh we know that we have to do a good job of planning and executing. We also have to know do we have to do a good job of improving as a team. Um and that’s been it. So, um and we’re excited. We’re excited about how this week went and now we got to get ready to go prove it in the game. So, any questions? If there was a game today, could Tyron Taylor physically play? He is limited. All right. Today. And he is questionable. And I like the way those guys are trending. So, so are you able to tell us who’s going to Can you tell? I cannot tell you that. But is it because you don’t want to or because That’s exactly it. But but but with Tyrod’s situation question, isn’t that play into this potentially? That’s exactly why I’m not telling you because I don’t want to. No, but I understand that. But I mean, is it is it partly because of the injury? That’s exactly why I’m saying it cuz I don’t want to. Does the quarterback I don’t know how many times I got to answer you that it’s not going to change. Do the um do the players know who the quarterback is? Uh that’s going to be between me and the players. Does I guess not knowing how secretive it is, has it affected does it affect the preparation at all for the game? We had a great week of practice with our guys. Our guys know we’re going to keep that between us and uh that’s how it’s going to be. and the starter has gotten the normal reps the starter we get before that’s between me and the team with the protection issues I asked you last week the Carolina game there were some issues once again even when Tyrod played if he is a starter Tampa wasn’t a great protection thing what can you guys do to clean that up no matter who the starter man we have to make sure number one the communication has to be on point and that has to be between quarterback line and everybody involved even the running backs when it comes to um protection So, that’s something that we’ve been working on like weekly as far as making sure that’s done because that’s one number one number one things you have to do as far as protecting the quarterback. So, um that’s an ongoing process. Um I think our coach has been um been harping on that quite a bit and between our coordinator, our O line coach, and everybody involved, man, we’ve been practicing that constantly to make sure we improve on that. What’s the challenge? Obviously, they have very talented receiving court, you don’t have sauce. What’s the plan for that? Listen, anytime you lose um you lose a player of that caliber, it’s always um it’s always concerning, you know, because he’s one of the best in this little league. But um we have other guys that has to step up and that’s what this this league is, man. Um you saw a lot of team, you saw a team last night that had a ton of injuries that went out there and played. You know, no one’s going to feel sorry for you. Um not going to feel sorry for us. So AZ’s going to step up and he’s going to do a good job for us. Aaron, you you’ve talked about you wanted the competitive advantage is the reason why you don’t want to reveal the quarterback. Like when when you were a defensive coordinator preparing for a team that wasn’t saying who the quarterback was going to be, like did you actually feel that was It was tough. Tough. I went through that in uh in Detroit when um it was Malik Willis and Jordan Love. And I thought Laflur did a really good job of not saying who that quarterback was. And we have to prepare for both of those guys. So I don’t see why we think this is something that hasn’t been done. But go ahead. If you’re able to get Quincy back on Sunday, just what what do you feel like maybe the defense has been lacking without him or what had back into Well, I would say the defense has um has improved over the last two weeks. Um and that’s communication. That’s understand exactly what Wols is trying to do when it when you look at the overall scheme and I’ve said this earlier in the season that man it’s going to take some time for that for the defense to make sure that it get come together and uh and everything is coordinated. Let me knock these injuries out uh real quick cuz we have a good little list of these guys. Um and I’m going to make this easy for the guys that are out. All right. We have K. We have sauce.

  1. I'm sure the Bengals head coach is up all night. Trying to figure out whether it's going to be a quarterback who can run but can't throw or if it's a quarterback who's mobile and can throw a little bit. lol what a joke.

  2. He ain't on a JetโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆโœˆYETIโ„ข๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚ Myโค goes out to all the Jets faithful๐Ÿ™โคโœŒ

  3. Does he know heโ€™s coaching an 0-7 team that is the laughing stock of professional sports? Nobody cares who your qb is because on Sunday the Jets will do jets things that only they do. And he doesnโ€™t help making a minimum of 6 mistakes a game. He needs to take a walk.

  4. I admire how Glenn thinks teams are desperately pining to get a competitive advantage on our offense. Unless they are fishing for something that doesn't work stopping it; we definitely have to keep that under wraps.

  5. I like Glenn. Yโ€™all will shit on him because the Jets are 0-6 but he doesnโ€™t waver. Heโ€™s composed and believes in himself. Campbell only won 3 games his first year and that was with a very competent QB. Gotta give these guys time or you can expect the same zero progression each run. And just like Joe Namath, I could care less about the Jetsโ€™ struggling

  6. Yall need to chill on this man. He making little things happen with what he has, just wait til it turns around. Ill be first in line to say I told ya so. Damn this new york market is rough

  7. Huh?!๐Ÿค” After the Jets first offensive series in the 3rd Quarterโ€ฆ let the chants of โ€˜We want Brady โ€˜ start โ€ฆ. Followed by an even louder โ€˜ SELL THE TEAMโ€™ chant.

  8. This shows that no matter how bad you are at your job, there is someone out there that is employed and even worse at their job than you are
