Tusks Up, Mammoth!

  1. Even though we lost tonight, I couldn’t be more proud of our boys! 3-1 is unbelievable on such a tough road trip! We’ve shown the rest of the league what we’re made of, and I can’t wait to see how far the Mammoth will go!

    Tusks up!

  2. Classic 2nd period that lost the game,
I think we were the better team in the first and most of the third but that second was just horrendous.

Anyway long way to go, 8-3 is a good start for the season and the team shows overall good performance

    Tusk up!

  3. Just need to adjust for the 2nd and we’re in good shape going forward. Cant and won’t win them all. Just gotta keep the foot on the gas and go get the next one. Team is hungry and I’m here for it LFG!!

  4. Gotta keep our tusks held high. We have been playing one hell of a season. One loss on the road does not break the Mammoth spirit.

  5. Even with the refs in the oilers pocket there was no excuse for that 2nd period. Shout out to Tanev, Carcone, and Crouse who never gave up. Shame on some others not giving their all.

  6. Bummer..

I missed the first period (aka the good stuff) so just sad news for me today.

The second period was bad, but it wasn’t as bad as the box score suggests. It doesn’t really matter, cause a goal is a goal, but damn the oilers sticks were magnets and the puck just flew to them. Two back to back goals in the exact same fashion with a rebound being an absolute dime to an open oiler and Veggie having to turn around and get from post to post was just down right unlucky. To be fair we got a lucky bounce with Skinner getting bounced by the puck and caught out of position. But regardless of luck, we let in too many goals and ultimately couldn’t make up the difference.

The third period the Oilers played how I want us to play with a lead, absolutely suffocating forecheck. Honestly that type of play is how a team like the oilers gets to the finals twice in a row. They got an insane lead and then gave Utah almost no chances to get back into this. Felt like the entire third was spent in our zone trying to just sniff the neutral zone. Our boys looked a little tired, but honestly not enough to warrant this loss. They simply got out played, out lucked, and out worked. I don’t think this is really an indicator that the Mammoth are trash now or anything so drastic. We just showed that we have some learning to do. When the luck isn’t going your way, but you play right it usually balances out. But when you’re unlucky and a little undisciplined you’ve got no chance.

Anyways, let’s get the boys home and protect the home record!

    Let’s rest… and then..

    #Tusk up the lightning!!!

  7. I am considering holding a seance in the hopes that our ancestors will contact their mammoth counterparts and figure out ways to influence the second period disaster that our team has.

  8. Tusk growth and consistency threw the season is important. No real highs or no real lows I think the team has done well even with this loss.
