[Daugherty] Brunette on the penalty problem: “We’re not moving our feet. We’re taking way too many. I think [Haula] has taken way too many every night. Just kind of senseless penalties where we put ourselves in 5-on-3…All kinds of preventable penalties”

Yeah…he’s the main issue in your lineup…sure.
If only there was somebody whose job it was to fix this.
I thought I was done for tonight but Brunette is right. This team is flat footed. Everyone is puck watching. It’s infuriating.
First, Haula had 2 penalties tonight. He had the slashing in the first but he was also the extra man on for the Too Many Men in the 2nd. He was also the one who was behind the play on the 4th against.
Second, I was looking through highlights to find one clip but honestly watch any segment. Pick out a player and count their steps. They’re standing there. Watching. At any level of hockey, even if you’re away from the play you should still be moving and keeping your feet active.
Watch this clip. Haula is 56 and Stamkos is 91. Ignore Jost and just watch their feet. Count the steps. Watch how their body position doesn’t change between active play and realizing a goal was just scored. In 13 seconds of ice time Haula takes four steps. Four! He’s our 2nd center! Lazy, shitty play.
