Hey, hey, hey. I feel hey. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Do you feel it? Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Obviously, I mean, good starts and we find a we got to find a way to play 60 minutes of hockey. There’s times we show it what we’re capable of doing and then there’s times we’re uh trying to be too cute, have too many turnovers and let let teams get back in. Yeah. How do you sort of solve that second period problem? I mean, just got to it’s within us, right? So, we all we’re a veteran group. We know exactly what we’re supposed to do and what we have to do to uh wear teams down and I think that’s something which we uh we just got to find a way knowing that uh if we play the right way, we don’t have to always make it so hard on ourselves. Yeah. What stood out about the way you guys rebounded in the third and then found a way to get the extra point? Obviously that shows what we capable of doing and I think that’s something which we all know we have to do but I mean it’s not it’s a hard it’s a hard league. It’s no easy games. It’s hard to win hockey matches and I think that’s something which we are aware of. We just got to make sure we down on him. Seen it a lot since you arrived in Winnipeg. But how would you describe Kyle Connor’s game-breaking ability? He’s uh he’s as good as it gets, right? I mean uh he’s he’s unbelievable the way he shoots the puck and the way he does the little things. It’s uh pretty remarkable to watch. Yeah. What did you think of the new line combos? Yeah, I mean it’s obviously something which you got to got to talk with the eyes. You got to obviously look for for one another and I think we uh for the first game I think we played pretty well together. Yeah, Gus was talking this morning about, you know, a little bit of frustration with not getting as much offense. What’s it like to see him get involved in in the tying goal as well? Yeah, it was definitely huge. I mean, obviously, you always want to get on the board when you come to a new team or when you’re an offensive threat like he is. And if things are going the way you want them to go, things lead into frustration, which makes it uh hard to play the game. And uh I mean, we all do it and it’s it’s it’s a hard league like I said. And what were the keys to the strong start in the first today? I think we we made sure we have to put pucks in deep. I mean, there is divisional opponent. We know exactly what we we’re supposed to do to keep them behind us. But like I said, it’s there’s no easy way in no easy win out there. We got to go out there and play the right way and then usually good things happen. What stands out about the 10 game block for you guys in seven and three here? I mean, the good thing is we’re we won more games than than we lost, but at the same time, we can be super pleased the way we have been playing. Like I said, we have to find a way to pull a full 60 minute together. And I think that’s going to make us feel a lot better than it does right now. What do you like about the way that both power play units are going and pushing each other like you did last year? I think that part is definitely uh it’s been pretty solid. Obviously, we we have to find a way to draw more power plays. I think we haven’t done a good enough job of doing that the last couple games, but it’s uh something which we we talk within the group to make sure we outwork them and draw some more penalties that way. Thank you. Yeah. Um, you know, once uh one team gets possession in overtime, it’s, you know, you almost got to be patient. You don’t want to open something up, you know, a good gap. And I thought we did that. that we kind of pressured when it was loose puck there in the zone and got it turned around, got some speed and great entry to J Mo and Shif and I just found some quiet ice and um you know trying to get it to a screen saw a little hole on the far side. Uh what the way the guys responded after falling behind. Yeah, it was great. Um you know obviously bit of a tough building once you get going. Um you know we were on our heels a bit there in the second. Um that being said tied game going in the third. Um, you know, down one, still foul with it. You know, stick to the game plan. Um, played simple to the neutral zone like that game-winning goal and a little bit of a rush there, but just getting to the net. You know, a lot of our goals just, you know, tip pucks and um, being in and around the net, you know, finding loose loose pucks and shooting for sticks and, um, you know, just, yeah, just keep it simple to do. So, I thought we did a good job. What do you think it’s going to take to get the second periods kind of sorted out here? Um, yeah. Um, we’ll see. Uh we just got to, you know, stick together for a full 60. Um, you know, trimmed down on the the penalty minutes. Seems like we’ve uh, you know, tooken too many here in the last last couple games here and, you know, that’s even if they don’t score, penalty kills has been great, but it generates momentum for the other team and, um, you know, kind of sit back in your heels and and, uh, so, you know, that that could be one thing. Um, you know, being a little disciplined. Um, also just, you know, being a mature group and, you know, not trying to open it up. Sometimes we get stuck on the changes as well. um you know in the second period and we just got to change better just just smart things that add up to you know overall playing a smarter game. What do you think the way you guys regrouped after not really liking the effort on Sunday or the complete effort? Um yeah it’s you know it’s a resilient group here and um we’ve shown parts of I think every game this season of what this team could be and um you know stuck with it and we just we found a way to win. What’s your biggest takeaway from the 10ame block? Um, I think we’re still still growing as a team. Um, I think we got to work on our consistency a bit. Um, that being said, uh, we’ve shown spurts of, I think, the identity of the team, but it’s it’s definitely a work in progress and, um, you know, everybody’s motivated in here to, you know, get better and, um, push each other and, um, I would just say, yeah, it’s we’re kind of building identity. We’re still working on it. Appreciate it. Yep. Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Hey every hey. Hey Hey, hey, hey. Hey, hey, hey. Think of the way your group responded after giving up the lead. Uh the third one. Yeah, just after Yeah, we stayed in the game. I mean, again, we’ll talk about this second period, but loved absolutely loved the way we came out in the first, second, got loose again. Um, you know, they they do a really good job of getting bodies around the net front and they throw a lot of pucks there and we saw that in the first and capitalized on a few of our mistakes in the second, but again, it was numbers at the netfront by them and thought we cleaned it up in the third. Um, you know, that was a big goal that we that uh Nino or Gus, whoever got that one, that was a big goal, obviously in a in a game, divisional game that’s tight in this building, you know, got us back going again. And um, you know, KC does what he does. You talked this morning about wanting a different look. I mean, two got two of those lines produced a goal today. I mean, what what did you think of the new combos? Yeah, we’ve been trying to find a little more offense other than just Sha’s line and um like you mentioned, I think all those other lines all had some good chemistry and had good good zone time. Um you know, they clicked u they clicked well together and that’s what you hope. Um I just like the fact that it’s spread out now. It isn’t just uh you know, the other team trying to shut down our top line and uh you know, we’re not getting other contributions from everybody else. I thought that was um you know not just goals but you know scoring chances which there was a lot more of. You had a long look at the at the first one. Did you think you might have pushed the pad or uh we had a little bit everything going on that one. The very first one was a high stick. There was it looked like it was high stick. Then we found finally found an angle. That’s tough in that 30 seconds for Maddie and and James to try to find um everything. Um then it was uh you know where was the puck? Was it under Hel’s pad? Did they pitch fork him? That type of thing. Push him in the net. Oh man, we got right up the end of it and it was it was a tough one and at the end of the day it the puck was laying there. Um but I think there was some contact but I don’t know if we could have found it quick enough to to make that call. You say just essentially not worth the risk at that. Uh I mean I’m not we’re not going to I’m not going to allow a you know if we feel that you know we’re pretty confident and that’s why I got a lot of trust in Matty and James. If they say this is one to challenge we’ll do it. That they just couldn’t find enough in that short span of time to to make that call. You’ve seen, you know, that combo with Mark and Kyle and and Josh in threeon-ree. What What makes them so dangerous? Well, they have that they’re pretty cohesive out there. They know um they kind of read each read each other, read off of each other, excuse me. Um that crisscross is sort of scissoring that they do when they cross that the ozone. Uh it puts defenders on their heels and it usually opens up somebody. Um and that was kind of what happened there tonight. What was your biggest takeaway from the 10ame block? Uh, I’m happy with seven and three. I don’t ever want to be uh, you know, sort of, you know, talked down on being seven and three, but I I we still haven’t come close to playing our complete game yet. Um, there’s been, you know, obviously lots of new guys that have been mixed in and and there’s growth there. There’s signs that of things that we’re doing better. Um, but it’s sometimes it’s two steps forward, one step back. But it’s early in the year and if we’re going to do it, do it now. Kind of get it out of the way. But I like the fact that even though we haven’t played our best hockey, we’re still sitting at seven and three. And would the PK be one of the not developments? Yep. No, very good call for sure. Our, you know, our power plays continue to be strong um to help us, you know, win hockey games, stay in hockey games. Our PK obviously is has been really good and it’s helped us a ton and it’s tough to give that one up as we did in the third, but at the end of the day, it’s given us a chance to stay in hockey games and that’s what you need. Appreciate it. Thank you. All right. Thank you. Heat. Hey, Heat.
