2. The frequent ACL and heel tears throw a new spin… can’t really will yourself through a ligament tear.

    But honestly, if LAC was the big new age poster child for load management, it might’ve even caused more injuries to their two stars, by never letting them catch a rhythm, conditioning. On top of never developing chemistry and underachieving their first year (with a stacked team), in the end, it just didn’t pay off.

   But again, heel tears particularly seem to be ruthless on athletes. It’s amazing Durant’s still playing well (and high minutes). Cousins was done after it. We’ll see how Hali and Tatum fare. Probably don’t want to rush back from heel surgery.

6. MJ was not human, and load management is for the humans that play. Not every body type can survive the grind of an 82 game season and still be effective in the playoffs. The only opponent MJ couldn’t beat was Father Time.
