Trevis Gipson on joining the Panthers | Carolina Panthers

I play with physicality, you know, effortness or effort, uh, toughness, and, you know, again, no doubt is promising. So, I try to leave it all out on the field. You said that we’re familiar with sport. How did you, how do you know? How are you familiar with this? So, I’m originally from Dallas and, uh, we both trained together at Exos. So, um, I saw him and met him before he came out for this draft. And, you know, we got a little bit familiar with each other going through rehab. So, you know, I think that was a good start. What were your what were your first impressions? Uh, you know, I I knew his film, knew he went to Texas A&M, knew he played hard, and he was a good guy off the field. So, I can only imagine on the field. How can you lean on that familiarity to sort of help them sort of dive in a playbook and get some, uh, you know, it helps, you know, especially being in the same position group, you know, um, we’re going to have to communicate at a high level and this not being my first time, you know, having conversation with those guys, it sort of picks off on a good foot fast. What’s the hardest thing about picking up a new player? Is it language? Is it just what for somebody that’s not familiar? Sometimes it can be language. You know, um being on six different teams in this league, you sort of try to compart of put everything in the same compartment. So, um things that I’m familiar with, I sort of say, well, this reminds me of this play. And that sort of helps me kick it off faster. How long does it take before you feel like you’re comfortable with um you know, it might take a week? might take a week or so, but you know, the the locker room is very welcoming and I think that’s the best thing. You know, going out there with the guys that I’ll be fighting next to. I think that’ll that’ll be the best thing for me right now. I assume that you’re pretty familiar with this week’s opponent. Who do you see from them? What what’s the key to kind of slowing down that that Green Bay offense? You know, it’s going to start off with physicality. We’re going to have to set the edges. Uh, you know, they got some nice size tight ends, 6’4, 65, 66, however you want to put it. But, you know, it’s going to come out. It’s going to come down to coming out and setting the tone. I think that’s going to be the first thing. [Music]
