Why The New York Yankees Will Sign Kyle Tucker In Free Agency | New York Yankees News & Rumors
So, in this New York Yankees video, I am going to be going over why I think the New York Yankees will be signing Kyle Tucker in free agency this MLB off season. I came up with five reasons why I think Kyle Tucker going to the Yankees is going to happen and why it makes sense. So, as always, leave your thoughts down below and let’s get right into it. So, reason number one on why I think the New York Yankees will be signing Kyle Tucker this off season, it’s the Yankees need to make a big-time splash because the last couple years, especially last year, uh, by missing out on Juan Stoodto, they haven’t really had that in a little bit, I feel like, in my personal opinion. So, at the very least, I think Brian Cman and the rest of this Yankees front office really owe it to the fan base to spend some money this off season, go after the top player available, and somewhat make up for the Juan Sto signing, which of course hurts them a little bit as he went to the cross and rival New York Mets last year despite putting in a pretty solid effort. So, I think making a big-time splash this off season uh does make a lot of sense. Uh, and Kyle Tucker, of course, is the top player in my opinion, and I think this would be a pretty awesome move for them to go after. Now, looking at the rest of free agency here, there are some solid players available. Uh, players like Alex Bregman come to mind, Pete Alonzo, of course, their very own Cody Bellinger. Uh there are some other players as well, but for the most part, you know, you even throw Kyle Schwarber into that mix, but for the most part, there aren’t really those high-end players available in my opinion, uh that I’d be willing to spend, you know, 40 plus million dollars on uh which they have, of course, had the last couple years with like Janoto for instance, as well as some other players. So, I think reason number one, it’s a little uh bland, but I think that the Yankees deserve to make a big-time splash this off season. And why not go after the best player available, that of course being Kyle Tucker. The next reason why I think the New York Yankees will sign Kyle Tucker in free agency this off season is the fact that Kyle Tucker is an extremely consistent player. So, when you’re comparing Kyle Tucker to Cody Bellinger, I’m sure in a perfect world, uh, the Yankees would like to land both of these guys if possible. But, if you had to choose one player over the other, yeah, Bellyy’s going to be a little bit cheaper. Don’t get me wrong, he had a really solid year this past year for the Yankees, that fit makes a lot of sense. But if they wanted to spend a little bit more money and go after a player who in my opinion is a superior option, I think Kyle Tucker just brings a lot more consistency to the table, especially when you compare him to Cody Bellinger. So Kyle Tucker throughout his MLB career so far. Uh so for the last four years, he’s been named to the All-Star game uh each and every you know each season. Uh in the last five years, he’s actually had a war of 4.5 or greater. So this year actually in Chicago was his lowest war season. This past year for the Cubs was probably, you know, a quote unquote down year for him, but it was still really solid nonetheless. He had a 4.5 worse season, 133 hits, 22 home runs, a 266 batting average, 91 runs scored, 73 RBI’s, 25 stolen bases, and on base of 377, a 464 slug, an OPS of 841, and an OPS plus of 143. So, Kyle Tucker is a very consistent all-star player. Uh he’s a gold glove caliber outfielder, has a silver slugger to his name, and also too has a World Series ring. So his numbers are really solid across the board. Like he can very easily be, you know, potentially a 2530 home run guy next year. He can hit north of 260, be roughly a 54 player. Maybe he gets about 80 to 90 RBI’s, maybe above 20 stolen bases, and gets on base and slugs at a pretty solid clip. So in regards to consistency, he’s a much more superior option in my opinion than Cody Bellinger. Yeah, Belly’s had a couple good years this past year, but prior to that, and what kind of got him out of Los Angeles was that inconsistency that he had. So, there’s definitely a risk here with signing Bellinger long term and him potentially falling off. Whereas for Kyle Tucker, it’s more of a safer bet in my opinion. So, the number two reason is consistency uh on why you should sign Kyle Tucker if you’re the Yankees. The third reason on why I think the Yankees will be signing Kyle Tucker is the outfield necessity. So this off season, the Yankees have some pretty tough calls to make in regards to, you know, current free agents. Uh they of course have Trent Gisham, their starting center fielder, as well as Cody Bellinger, uh their starting left fielder, both as free agents. And I don’t really see a world where both of these guys come back. Now, could one of these guys come back? Absolutely. Is there a chance that they both come back? It’s definitely possible. But if those two players leave, hypothetically speaking, who’s going to replace these guys? Like there are players like Spencer Jones, there’s alo some other players on this roster as well. They can get creative internally, I suppose. But if you want to make a big-time splash, which I touched on earlier, as well as just solidify the outfields a little bit. Kyle Tucker uh accomplishes both of those with one signing. So, as I mentioned before, Kyle Tucker is a gold glove caliber fielder. He’s primarily a corner outfielder. You can throw him in left or right. He can also play center field if needed as well. So, it’s always nice to have some versatility. uh defensively speaking, which is what Kucker brings to the table. And you know, the fact that he’s only 20, you know, he’s going to be 29 years old next year, you can give this guy a pretty big-time contract and not have to worry about the outfield position with Judge on one side, with Kyle Tucker on the other side for an extremely long time. So, there could be some holes this off season in regards to their outfield. They have to solidify that one way or another. Maybe they could explore the trade market. That is possible. But with Kyle Tucker being the top free agent available and with him being an outfielder, it just makes too much sense in my opinion for the Yankees not to consider. So I think the third reason is is just the fact that Kyle Tucker fills a hole in the outfield, which they will have to fill in some capacity this off seasonason. The fourth reason on why I think Kyle Tucker going to the Yankees is going to happen and makes perfect sense, is he’s a very well-rounded player. He’s a multi-dimensional player, uh, so to speak. So, as I touched on a little bit earlier by reading his statline, he does everything very well. Maybe he’s not, you know, a 50 home run guy or a player that’s going to steal 50 bases or whatever the case may be, but he brings a lot to the table and is a very well-rounded baseball player, a multi-tool guy, uh, so to speak. So, as I mentioned before, he was a 4.5 war guy this past year, and that was a career low for him, uh, in the past 5 years. Typically, he’s north of five war, which is really incredible. Uh, being a five wins above replacement guy, that already is very impressive. He’s a player that can get on base at a very solid clip. Like, hitting, you know, had no an on base percentage of 377 last year. He’s not the biggest slugger, per se. Like, his numbers last year were a little bit down. 22 home runs, 73 RBI’s, but he still brings that value to the table. He’s a player that can hit at the top of the lineup, get on base, steal a few bags as well, play some really good defense, and make good contact. So, he’s just a really consistent, he’s a really solid, well-rounded player, which I think for this Yankees team is a pretty good way to go. I feel like I feel like too often the Yankees sign these one-dimensional guys, which come playoff time, if that one dimension is not working, it’s not going to work. The Yankees have to do a better job at manufacturing runs. they have to do a better job of playing as a team. Being a more well-rounded baseball team, I think will lead to their success next year in 2026. Look at the Blue Jays, for example. Uh their approach to the plate is fantastic. And they’re a team that uh you know, really bought in uh with new coaching, etc. And I think Kyle Tucker going to this Yankees team could be exactly that and bring the same impact. So, I think the fourth reason is that Kyle Tucker is extremely consistent as well as a multi-dimensional player. The last reason on why I think Kyle Tucker is going to sign with the New York Yankees this off seasonason is that he can’t go to other teams that way if the Yankees sign him. So, this obviously would make a lot of sense because if the Yankees sign him, he can’t sign multiple contracts. But what does this mean and what do I mean by this? Well, Kyle Tucker is going to have a pretty large market this off seasonason. There’s going to be a lot of contending teams out there. maybe the Red Sox, maybe the Dodgers, maybe the cross town rival New York Mets, whatever the case may be, a lot of these big market teams with deep pockets, they’re going to want to give Kyle Tucker a pretty big time deal. And at the end of the day, there’s only one champion in baseball, and if you have to play against these guys, sort of like Wanoto for instance, it’s going to lower your chance of winning a championship. So, I I think if they’re able to bring on Kyle Tucker, maybe give this guy, you know, an eight plus year contract, maybe north of 40 million bucks, whatever it may be, per season, you’re not going to regret it because you’re not going to be having to play against this guy. And having a five war plus player on your team each and every year who does a lot of things well, um that that’s hard to replace and that’s hard to find. And they kind of lost that last off season by letting Juan Sto go. and they could make up for it in my opinion uh by bringing on Kyle Tucker. So in regards to making sure he can’t go to other teams or specifically rivals like what ifam what if for example he goes to the Blue Jays or he goes to the Red Sox and you have to play against this guy for the next eight plus years. That’s not ideal. So if you want to prevent this do all you can get the deal done so that he can’t go to other teams in free agency. So that is going to be it for this video. Thanks again for watching. As always, those were just five reasons that I came up with on why I think the New York Yankees will be signing Kyle Tucker this off season in free agency. Have an unreal rest of your day and I will see you in the next one.
