What do you hope to see out of the rook for his first regular season start?

  1. I hope he leads us to 22 points at least. Our offense hasn’t put up more than 21 under Rattler for the whole season

  2. He’s gonna be dealing with an insane pass rush. I just want to see him be poised and make the plays on third down that we need.

  3. Just to move the ball and maybe a few deep shots that look good. I’m not expecting much against this D but a little life would be nice

  4. I see him throwing more downfield and not taking the easy 2-3 yd completions. The defense won’t respect the run, then they should respect the pass. And when the safeties back up, we can pop off a few runs to make them respect that too.

  5. I don’t expect zero turnovers. I hope that’s the case- but he needs to be aggressive and take some chances. If he plays it safe just book Mendoza our starter next year. Unless he plays us out of the top pick, we will get QB next year. So it’ll be very interesting

  6. I just want him to make the right reads and hit people in stride.

The line will have to help him and the wr group will have to pull its weight.

But I would really like to see some yac yards.

  7. I wanna keep watching him make reads lightning fast. The Bucs D was trying so hard to disrupt or juke him and he saw it every time.

  8. Getting back up, the rams d line is nuts without facing our injured to hell o line. He’s gonna take some hits and feel that pressure I just need him to get back up and keep slinging it

  9. I want him to look like he belongs out there. He’s got a lot of the attributes that you’d want in a franchise qb, he now gets the chance to go out and show it.

  10. Not sure about what I *hope* to see but the first thing that came to mind was pain.

So I expect to see pain

As a Saints fan in 2025 – hope has abandoned these lands

  11. I just want to see Juwan Johnson catch AT LEAST HALF the passes that hit him square in the hands.

  12. I wanna see what he looks like if he has to play hero ball. This team needs a QB that can carry them, not just manage the team.

  13. What I hope (unrealistically, and it would be totally unfair expectations) is that he can bring the spark that lights the flame that roasts the Rams and we win. I’m OK with a close win but I’m very fine with us winning in a blowout too.

Realistically, I want to see him attack downfield successfully and make overall good decisions. And little things like throwing the receivers open. But I also know that as a rookie, he may make rookie mistakes. There might be some confusing looks and mixups he might fall for. I don’t wanna be too hard on him if that happens, because you need experience and a rookie in his first start doesn’t really have that
