Let’s say hello to a guy who watched the Jets lose in London, then stayed in Europe and had a great vacation with his wife. It’s our guy out in Vegas, Jeff Parles. Jeff, welcome back to the show. Sorry the Jets are still bad, but hey, they are coming off a win. Well, they welcome me back to the country with the first win for Justin Fields when the opponent scored more than 20 points, Jake. So, there you go. like h god h you know I I’m very happy to not watch a single second of the Carolina game because just that we were traveling from one country to another at that point. So yeah, it’s good to be back. It’s good to see the Azaniacs. Uh but uh it’s also good to have a by-week, my friend. It’s also good to not have to worry about this for a week as well. Well, I’ll tell you what, the byee is here, but the Jets always find a way to stay in the news. And let’s get right into the breaking news. I’ll give you my initial thoughts on the Carter trade, Jeff, and then I want you to weigh in. So, here are the details of the trade. According to Ian Rapaort, the Eagles trading for Michael Carter, who fills a need for them. The Jets in return get wide receiver John Mechy the third. And there’s some draft picks that are thrown in here. Philly gets Carter and a 2027 7th rounder, where the Jets get Mechi and a 2027 sixthrounder. So, a late round pick swap. Carter for Mchi. And from a Jets standpoint the second the Jets acquired Jarvis Brownley Jr. from the Titans and he went out there and has played really well with Carter out with an injury. Then when Carter was healthy and Brownley Jr. still remained as the starter in the nickel and made a huge play to help the Jets get their first win of the season this past Sunday against the Bengals. You just knew Carter’s days were numbered because Brownley had overtaken him on the depth chart. He fits what Aaron Glenn wants in a corner more than Carter does. And unfortunately, Carter’s been banged up the last couple years. He has not been nearly as elite as he once was. So, he became expendable. And the Jets were not going to carry his salary on their books for another year. They could get out of his contract for just $2 million by cutting him. So rather than just do that and lose him for nothing, at least you take a flyer on John Metchi, who once upon a time was thought to be a guy who had some talent and can make a name for himself in the league. And you do improve a little bit in the draft with a late round pick swap. So I will miss Michael Carter. He was an awesome Jet. Unfortunately, injuries really hurt him these last few seasons, but he was a really good player for this team. Good guy. Wish him all the best. But I think all things considered, this should not be a big surprise for anyone who’s been following how the Jets were likely going to approach the trade deadline. Great trade. Great trade for a few reasons. One, you get Carter’s salary off the books, which for a team that realistically speaking has significantly more needs than slot corner. Like, you can’t be paying a slot corner what he was making, especially if he’s not going to play well. He hadn’t played well this year. I know he been banged up, but hadn’t played well. This is he’s another one of those guys who hadn’t been the same since Salah got canned, too. Like he over the past year, he’d really regress since Robert Salah was fired uh after the London trip a year ago. Uh you get Matchy. Look, Matchi’s an unrestricted free agent at the end of the year. So, you’re probably like, “All right, this is an audition for him for not just the Jets, but for the rest of the league. He’s going to get an opportunity to play since the Jets have no wide receiver depth.” Uh you move up around again. Part of the reason the Jets are as bad as they are, Jake, is they have been so bad in the mid to late rounds drafting over the last uh 10 years realistically speaking at this point. So I don’t know, maybe Muji’s a little bit better than some of these other guys, even though the early returns for this year other than the guys at the top aren’t particularly great. Uh even though I I think Moore is going to be able to play he just very very raw uh from what we’ve seen so far from him. Uh but look uh there’s there is nothing with dumping salary at a position that a team that’s as far away as the Jets are doesn’t necessarily need to be paying much of anything. And once they got Brownley Jr. You’re right. There was no reason to keep Michael Carter around. Uh good trade. Good trade. Even a Mitchi does nothing. It’s a good trade to get Carter’s salary off the books. Yep. You were going to cut him anyway. So now you save, you know, a couple million bucks by doing this. Mechi is not on a contract that hurt you in any way. It’s a trial, as you put it. And uh Michael Carter’s a good dude, man. So I wish him well. He gets reunited with Joe Douglas, who I’m sure was telling how Roseman, hey, this is a guy that I recommend we bring in. He could help us. So we will see. I actually threw out this on Twitter responding to MC’s tweet thanking the fans, and he was nice enough to respond back. So, I’ve always been an MC fan. Appreciate him uh acknowledging the Jet fans on his way out, acknowledging me personally, which is very cool. So, I I wish him well. Unfortunately, he got hurt last year. Was not the same player when he did play. Missed most of last season. And this year, he just never fully looked like the MC2 we were accustomed to seeing. So, wish him well. I’ve been really impressed with Brownley. So, I have no issue with this deal. Uh, it would not surprise me if the Jets make a couple other deals before the deadline next Tuesday, but I don’t know where you stand with some of the talk of Bree and Quinn. I don’t think they’re going to be trading away a lot of their big stars. This to me was the most likely player to be traded. And sure enough, he’s been traded. They’re not going to get enough back for Quinnon to start there, Jake. They’re just not going to get enough back. And uh, yeah, I mean, this is the if there was a guy to get dealt, this is the one that makes the most sense. Uh, can we talk about Bree for a second, Jake? We just go there for a second because I know you’ve been banging the drum of that they should keep him and and extend him or or whatever. I I’m in the camp of keep him around and franchise him for next year. Yeah, I would not commit long term to a running back. Uh, but Bree, I mean, look, I know that look, the team, this has been a nightmare. We’ve talked about it. The last time I was on was basically the most depressing episode I think you and I have done together. That was even before Aaron Glenn uh forgot that he could throw Hail Marys at the end of the first half back-to-back games. Uh but Bree Hall is still a high-end player and we we look we saw it in week one. We saw it last week against Cincinnati like heard him after the game like if Garrett’s Garrett’s not playing, give him the ball 20 30 times and thank goodness they actually freaking did. They would have lost the game going away if they didn’t. Um but I would love to keep Reese around man. I I I you’re just not going to get enough back for a guy of that talent. Like realistically speaking, the teams that make the most sense for Hall are Kansas City and the Chargers now that Omar and Hampton’s heard in LA. They’re good. What can it give you? A four, a five. Come on. Just at that point, you’re better like almost rather like he if he walks in the offseason, he walks. I know people will freak out. Oh, we didn’t get anything back for him, but okay. a fourth round pick that you’re going to turn into probably not much of anything with the Jets p recent past history. Just keep him around. Give yourself the best opportunity to keep him in green next year where you have all this cap space and if you get the off season right, and I know we’ve been saying this for freaking 15 years now, but in this league with a good off season, you can vault. You can vault. It can be done. And look, even if the Jets play well down the stretch, what? They’re still gonna have a top five pick in the draft, Jake, they’re still gonna have a top five pick. They’re maxing out at four wins more likely than not this year. And that’s going to be more than good enough to be in the top five of this year’s NFL draft. So, you you’ll have your options to get your rookie quarterback. Um, that game against New Orleans in December probably is going to be for a top three pick, but you and I and everyone who’s listening know the Jets will w absolutely win that game. Um, really the best case scenario now would be Shuck is playing well and the Saints want to go forward with him and then the Jets all of a sudden are the team picking at the top that will be picking a quarterback. So, uh, but yeah, don’t trade Breeze and they’re not going to get enough back for Quinn. So, I’m not I think that’s all BS. There’s no way they’re moving Quinnon because they’re just not going to get enough back in order for what they would need to get in order to actually move them. Jeff, do us a favor. reset your internet and StreamYard cuz you’re a little choppy going in and out and we’ll get Jeff’s audio up to speed. But I agree with what Jeff’s saying. Whether they franchise Bree or get them to agree to a two or threeear deal, I think it behooves the Jets to keep him. My big thing with Bree Hall is this. Don’t make the same mistake you made with previous quarterbacks that you’ve taken in the top three of the draft. And I’m specifically talking about Sam Darnold. Don’t allow whoever you take at quarterback to be put in a spot where we’re saying, “How can we properly evaluate them? They don’t have enough talent around him.” We know the wide receiver room needs major upgrades beyond Garrett Wilson next year. Brace Hall is good. He reportedly wants to be here. Find a way to make it happen. Find a way to make it happen. have him, Isaiah Davis, and Brilan Allen all be back with an offensive line that’s coming off its best game and is only going to get better the more they play together, the more ArmaU continues to play. He’s had an outstanding rookie year. Olu’s coming into his own. Tipman’s a legit guard for this team. You can figure out center. We’ll figure out what they want to do with John Simpson. To me, keeping Breece Hall should be a legitimate focal point for the Jets. It should be something that they’re talking about doing right now as far as an extension goes. Have the conversation with Breeze. Hey, here’s what the franchise tag would pay you. We’re going to give you this over two years so we could spread out what the cap hit would be. Are you interested? Start with that. If he says he wants to go and he has no interest in signing here, then okay, then you trade him. But that’s not what I’ve heard. And even if he says that, you still have the franchise tag. But you want to keep guys that want to be here. And I think he does actually want to be here. I know he had the Instagram post free 20. That to me was more about, hey, free him to get the ball a lot. Use them. Take the shackles off. You know, he had the quote after the game that he said to the coaches this past week, hey, with Garrett out, I want the ball 20 25 times. He said that. That’s what free 20 really meant. And we saw Bree go out there and have a great game. So I totally agree. But as far as Michael Carter goes, again for those tuning in, the Jets getting John Mechy in the deal and a late round pick swap. I think ultimately Michael Carter was not going to be here beyond the season. So you turned him into something. Saved a little money on your books because you were just going to cut him and have to take a $2 million dead cap charge for moving on from him. And look, Michael Carter is a good guy. Give him a chance to go to a winning team. You do right by a player who was here who fans like and you know took to Twitter to say New York, I’m forever grateful. You changed my life. So much love to all my dogs in the building. Greatness is on the way. Good player. Wish him the absolute best. Comments, questions, super chats, they cut the line. Jeff Parles will join us in a moment. Let me say this for those tuning in. We have an awesome raffle at the end of the show today. We continue to pay homage to the great Nick Mangled. It says, “Let Muji cook.” Look, the one thing Muji’s done well have been these trades so far. whether it be Harrison Phillips, Jawan Briggs, the deal that he made in season, which is why Michael Carter was expendable for Jarvis Brownley. So Muji’s been pretty good in this area. Let’s give him the benefit of the doubt with these trades here. Uh that chip sale says in Muji we trust. Hey now, love that. Matt Jet fan Matt L. Matt won our signed Walcide Frasier jersey yesterday. Guess what Matt? I was at the post office earlier. I sent it out to you so you’ll get it soon. But he just gifted a 10 spot of channel memberships for the people. Hit it, AG. [Applause] 10 people just became channel members and Matt joins our raffle for 10. Let’s say hello to Jeff Parl and hope that his internet is working a lot better this time. And Jeff made a wardrobe change. He’s rocking the Mangle Titan. Yes. Yeah. Got to do it. Got to do it. One of my favorite jets ever. gone way too soon, my friend. And uh I never got to meet him. I know you did on multiple occasions and had him on the show, Jake, but what what a guy from what everyone who said stuff on Sunday after we found out he passed. What what a what a player. One of the best Jet offensive linemen of all time. I This is pretty amazing, Jake. Through our childhood, the two best centers in Jets history played for the Jets when we were kids. when we were when we were teenagers, Kevin Malai, of course, Encanton, and uh and Nick Mangled. And I’ll tell you what, I think Nick Mangled was a Hall of Famer, and I do hope that we get to see him get in over the next few years so his family gets to at least get that moment where Nick is honored and Canton where he belongs. 100%. Great jersey though, Jeeoff. I’ll tell you, I I I love that you have a throwback Titans jersey. Jets won’t be wearing that anytime soon. and they’re going to be wearing the rivalry jerseys against the Dolphins on uh December 7th, but they won a lot in those jerseys. They’re not maybe not the most like visually appealing and it’s blue as they did with the Jet Green, but I I have fond memories of those jerseys because they won a lot of games when they wore them. They won a ridiculous game against the Titans where the Titans punt returner kept fumbling in week three of that 09 season, sent Tennessee to 0 and3. And of course, the white version of these was the Mark Sanchez hot dog game in Oakland if you remember, Jake. Yeah, you’re right. You’re right. I think that was the only time they wore the white version of those. Yeah, the white version is sign significantly better than this. This these might as well just be make uh ripoff miss like uh uh the uh the Chinese knockoff Michigan jerseys more so than anything, Jake. Oh man. All right, comments questioned super chats. Let me shout out the Austrian Jet fan who just entered our raffle for five. Let’s go. First win. Jeff, let’s talk a little bit about the first win, right? Because they obviously needed it for the vibes for the, you know, ending the two weeks straight of 0 and 17 talk and one and done. But when you look back at that game, how much of it do you think is an outlier versus maybe they found something where we could watch competent football over the next nine weeks? I actually think it was an outlier on both sides of the ball. I don’t think the def I think the defense is closer to what they did in the two close losses against Carolina and Denver. Like I don’t think they’re as I don’t think they’re terrible. I think they’re a league average defense. I think they’re a league average defense that when they’re right has the capability of playing at a high level. Um and the offense just played I mean they played a horrible defense. Like Cincinnati’s defense is terrible. and the Jet coaching staff. Look, I look I I’ve been as hard as anyone on AG through the first through the through the first seven games. It was as bad of a seven game stretch as we’ve ever seen from any coach in Jet history other than Kotight. Um I got to give them their due. They out coached Zack Taylor in company. And that is likely not going to happen again this year, Jake. Like they’re not gonna they’re not going to be the better coaching staff. Probably not again this year. Maybe against Miami the second time around. Uh especially if McDaniel’s gone and they’re going with the assistants who I think are terrible. Uh I I think Breeze Hall’s ability is replicable as we know, but the rest of it, yeah, I I don’t know. Offensively speaking, I I think they’re again I think they’re just in between the two high g we haven’t seen it yet. They’re nothing like they were in the Pittsburgh game or the or the Cincy game, but I don’t think they’re as terrible as they showed against Denver and Carolina or Buffalo for that matter or Dallas until Dallas’s defense completely stopped playing. At some point, Jake, I still think this is a five or six win roster. We haven’t really seen a five or six win team at any point. Like, so I don’t know. I don’t know. I really don’t think much of this is is replicable, but who the hell knows? Maybe maybe just winning a game gives these guys confidence like, “All right, you know what? We knew we weren’t as bad as we were during the 0 and7 start. They play a very beatable Browns team the week after the by-week. So more than implied that they could string off another win or two here, Jake. That’s a huge game, right, Jeeoff? Because think about recent Jet coaches, how bad they were off the buy, how bad they’ve been with extra time to prepare, how bad they’ve been coming off wins. Like if this team truly turned the corner, you got to beat the Browns when you’re at home and you probably have the advantage at quarterback and roster. Like that to me is a game where there’s no excuse for the Jets to not come out and win. If they go out there and lose an ugly, you know, 16-10 game, I don’t think the Bengals win means anything. I think it was just an outlier game over the course of 17 games or, you know, there was a higher power looking down on the Jets because of Mangle. like you got to build on that that game and come out of the buy ready to win if you want us to buy into some sort of turnaround or have more faith in this regime going forward. Look, let’s look Jake, let’s look at the next five weeks, okay? Let’s look at the next five weeks. You get Cleveland. The Jets are favor going to be favored at home in that game. Like, they’re actually going to be favored for once. Woohoo! We did it, Jake. Favored after being an underdog at home against Carolina. Then you’re going to New England. Look, guys, you can yell at me if you want. The Jets are going to get clocked by the Patriots in a short week. They’re going to get clocked. Uh, it shouldn’t be embarrassing, though. You can’t have another like London clock debacle if you’re Glenn in that game in a nationally televised spot. Sure. But, but they’re going to I think they’re going to get blown out. I think they’re going to get blown out. I I mean, the Patriots are playing as well as anyone in the AFC right now. May looks like a legitimate star. We know how good Vable is. Like, it’s just a bad matchup for him. The Ravens, who the hell knows what the Ravens are going to look like at that point. Who knows? Like, we have no idea. Uh, and then Atlanta has been the king of the of laying the egg this year, Jake. They have the two worst performances that any team in the NFL has had this year, getting shut out in Carolina 30 to nothing, and then getting blown out by the Dolphins this past week at home. Uh, so, who knows? You can play, you can play the Falcons, especially at home. And then, look, the Jets should beat the Dolphins. I’m sorry. You should beat Miami at home. Like, you should. So, and then you go to last month where more likely than not go either one and three or 0 and4 in those last four games, which whatever it is what it is at that point. Just be competitive and play well and that’s fine in those last four games. But look, you got to find a way if you’re going to see some confidence in this regime moving forward, you got to go 500 from you got to you got to beat Cleveland. You got to go three and two actually. Lose the two road games, win the three home games, Jake, right? or be two and three and that Atlanta game is a really close loss where it’s an even game and you lose a coin flip game. That’s really what I need to see to at least have a little bit of confidence in this regime moving forward. Again, I just I’m not going to let one win change what I’ve seen the first seven weeks. Like Aaron Glenn’s still got to prove it. Like I don’t care that they beat Joe Flacco in a team that has no defense. um like show me show me that that actually can vault you into looking like a competent NFL team for more than just realistically speaking one quarter in that game. Jake, I completely agree. I’m happy for Glenn. I’m happy for Fields after Woody’s asinine comments about him and everything he went through. But like we got to see more, you know, like it but I like seeing them win. Awesome. Like anyone who’s concerned about draft positioning in October, it’s just exhausting, man. Like be happy your team won. We’ll worry about the draft when we get closer. Like, we need to see wins now. That was my big thing. Like, I don’t care if they would have won two of their last three. They beat the Saints and then beat the Bills who are resting all their starters and they finished with three wins and Glenn’s trying to sell us on improvement. Like, the wins need to happen now. So, that’s why I think that Cleveland game because they’re going to be favorites in it. They’re at home. Extra time to prepare. Like, we’ve just seen so many Jet coaches in this exact spot lose that game. I I think it will show me something about Glenn if they go out there and if they could actually, you know, come out ready to go and dare I say win another football game for the second straight game. You ain’t got no argument for me. You got no argument for me. It’s again, it’s you want to see the improvement now. You’re 100% right. Like I if let’s say the Jets get to the let’s say the Jets get this that game against New Orleans with one with only the Cincinnati win and then like you said win two out of three, get the three and 14. like, “All right, you proved us not. You proved nothing here. You proved nothing. You beat the Saints, who are the only team that might be worse than you.” Well, Tennessee is worse than Tennessee is the worst team in the NFL. I I I don’t think that’s much of a doubt at this point. Uh but look, I like I said, if you want to get me to say, “All right, this coaching staff has turned a corner. The first seven weeks were just a guy getting his feet underneath him, go three and two these next five games.” Go three and two. Go three and two. Lose in New England and lose in Baltimore. That’s fine. You can lose those games. Those teams are much better than you are. Uh Baltimore when Lamar’s back is much better obviously, but beat win the three home games. Beat Cleveland with a rookie quarterback. Beat Miami. Like they stink. I don’t care that they drilled Atlanta. And the Falcons are beatable. The Falcons are absolutely beatable. Especially if Pennix is out any sort of long term. I mean Kirk Cousins terrible at this point. Yeah, he might be fried 100%. He definitely fried. Not might be. He is fried. Yeah. Oh man. comments, questions, super chats, cut the line. If you tune in late, we opened our show discussing the Michael Carter the second trade. He’s been dealt to the Eagles. Jets get back. John Meti, who’s probably like wide receiver four or five on the depth chart now. We’ll see if they use him on special teams a little bit. I actually covered him in Houston and I never got to actually watch him play before I moved back here because his first year he was diagnosed with cancer and he missed that first season. So, he overcame that. Is still in the league, which is a great story. But, uh, obviously, you know, he’s bounced around. This is now his third team. Second time I think this year he’s been traded already too. Going from Houston to Philly to now the Jets. So we’ll see you know what version of Mechi we get when the Jets come out of their buy. Nate checks in and he says Jeff day is my favorite day. Range of outcomes for Mchi. Aren Smith but older to Robbie Anderson. We hope he falls somewhere in the middle. Uh if if he’s even Aryan Smith, I’d say that’s a win. Yeah, that’s a win. That’s a win. I again Aaron Smith’s uh measurables are undeniable Jake like that was never the concern with him like great speed uh didn’t like the fact that he was whatever I know that like that whole freaking fourth and one where Fields changed the play to a pitch that was asinine to begin with but yeah look I God Robbie Anderson that’s chosen Anderson now isn’t it right that’s right or is it Robbie Robbie Chosen right what did he change his name to he changed it to something insane but But uh yeah, look, if Meti again, if John Mchi gets to a point where you’re saying, “Hey, the Jets should consider bringing him back as a number three wide receiver,” then this has been an absolutely monster success. 1,00%. I mean, yeah, I I don’t think you could expect him to come anywhere close to that, but hey, I I I like the fact that rather than just lose him for nothing, you know, you you take a chance on a guy with some upside and you do improve your draft position. And we saw the Jets turn a six round pick into Harrison Phillips and Jawan Briggs and you know Jarvis Brownley. So you know give Muji credit there. He’s done a good job with these in season trades. So far so good. So far so good. Daniel, Jake. Yeah, that’s right. We sign a wide receiver too. Muji, please for the love of God. Just flexing that milestone as maniac super chat. What’s up Jake? Daniel Murphy. Hope you’re doing well my man. That’s uh you know, playoff Mets legend Daniel Murphy to you, Jeff Carls. There we go. There we go. Oh man. All right, let’s get to some of your calls as well. Reminder to hit the like button and make sure that you guys are subscribed to the channel. Enter our Nick Mangled jersey raffle for a chance to win. If you don’t win, you’re entered in the raffle to win a signed Mangle item, a signed Wayne Corvette football, and a signed Justin Fields jerseys. Two super chats that just came through. SCO with a strong emoji. Sko, appreciate you flexing. Doug checks in. He says, “What if the Jets won out? That’d be fun, right?” But back to reality. Like the trade for all the reasons you guys said, and Muji’s good at trades. Yeah, look, I I’ve been critical of Muji where I think he deserves criticism. He’s been really good with the inseason trades and I think this was a smart deal for a guy that once again, Jeeoff, you and I agree he wasn’t going to be on the team next year, so you might as well try and get something for him rather than just lose him for nothing and take a $2 million debt cap charge. No. No. I look this is this is a no- risk deal. This is a no- risk deal. Like if John Mchi ends up having like one catch the rest of the year, who cares? Like like you said, you got Carter salary off the books, he wasn’t going to be here next year. And I think you got to have as much room as humanly possible for this upcoming off season. So good good trade regardless. Even if Carter finds his own form in Philadelphia, it’s still a good trade. All right, a little Jets trivia for you. Who are the only two players left from Joe Douglas’s 2021 draft class after Michael Carter was traded today? Well, it’s just the the first rounders. That’s it, right? No, I’m talking about that that draft class specifically. 2021. It’s just the two of them, right? Just Sauce and uh and Garrett, right? That was 20 That was 2022. Oh, Jesus. Oh, wow. All right. 2022 was Sauce, Garrett. I’m lifting up my ears of when the draft was here in Vegas. That was 22. This was 21. That was That was right in front of me. Oh, boy. 21 21’s the Zach Wilson draft. That Okay. All right. Yeah. I should have should have gotten that right right out of the gate. I thought you were I thought you were uh So, AVT is still here. Yep. That’s why. Barely. Barely. Barely still here, but he’s here. He’s there. Um Oh my goodness. All right, Jake. Who’s the other guy that’s still here? It’s a tough one to get because he was hurt and you probably forget if he was even drafted or signed. Jam and Sherwood’s the other player. He was drafted. He was Exactly. It’s a tough Oh, I I really genuinely thought he was a UDFA. Okay. All right. Good enough. AVT and Jamian Sherwood. And And I could totally see, by the way, AVT signing like a one-year prove it deal with the Eagles, Jeff Statlin coaching them up the same way he coached up Beckton. And watch AVT will magically be healthy for them. He’ll help them win games. I wouldn’t be opposed to bringing Vera Tucker back on a one-year prove it deal. I would I would bring Vera Tucker back on a one-year prove it deal. Wouldn’t even hesitate. Wouldn’t even hesitate. Wouldn’t even hesitate when he’s on the But here’s the only thing though, Jake. The offensive line has been genuinely good. Like they’ve had their moments where they’ve struggled. Like I get it. But boy, this past weekend they were phenomenal. And again, the Jets have seemingly got the tackle position correct. Yes. like Olu is really good and Meu is a stud. So they have gotten that correct and Pitman seems to be a better guard than center. So I they got they got it going on the O line. They got it right. They definitely got it right at this point. And it will be a question of what do you do moving forward at center because again how many more years can you expect Meyers to be a good piece, right? 100%. Uh, look, they could also go into next year being like, we’ll play Titman either at center or guard based on what our other options are in the draft or free agency. Like, they have the flexibility. I think I would just leave Tipman at guard at this point because I like the idea of him and Meu growing together on the right side because Membu is a stud, dude. Like, that guy that guy’s having one of the better rookie seasons we’ve seen from a tackle. He’s great. Again, I was It’s funny like when I watched him at Missou, obviously the Missou connection for me, like I thought, all right, this guy’s a backend first round pick and then obviously as the combine got closer and everything got closer as moving up and up and up and up and he’s been great. I mean, he he has been he really has only had one bad game, Jake. Yeah. Really only had one bad game and that’s look on a bad team that’s pretty damn good. If your your your your first top first round top 10 right tackle has had one bad game in eight tries. That’s pretty damn good. Jake, not too shabby. Spencer Green spent two bucks to say Lakers money line tonight. Who are the Lakers playing, Spencer? That God Godspeed. Godspeed. There will be zero NBA regular season bets made for me this year, Jake. That’s it. You’re out on the NBA. I can’t I I I can’t win. I’ve never won on the NBA in the regular season, so I just don’t bet it. Lakers are playing the Timberwolves tonight. All right, we’ll keep that in mind. Spencer, he’s a big Lakers fan. G Shaman says, “Saw me in college. Excellent. He was traded earlier by the Eagles because injuries. Just needs a chance.” I mean, look, if he could play, he’ll get on the field here because the wide receiver room for the Jets is uh not great to be kind. That’s nice of you. That was very nice of you, Jake. Very nice. U look, we all saw Matchi at Alabama. Like, he was a great He’s an excellent college wide receiver. Just again, like you said, like when you get diagnosed with cancer in your rookie season, it’s uh it’s a lot to overcome. It’s pretty amazing he’s still in the league even in all honesty. 100%. All right, to your calls we go. Gusbuster Umbrella Hotline, ladies and gentlemen. Who knows how many points this man is about to make. [Applause] Get ready for Neil. He will make 13 points about the New York Jets and maybe a hump of Patriots jersey. Get ready for he’s probably smoking a beard fat cy and burn his house to the ground. [Music] What’s happening, Jeff? Good sir. 60 new 50, huh? That’s right, baby. You know it. And 40 is the new 30 at the quarterback position in football. There you go. There you go. Right. And here’s I just finished a whole box of these by myself just now. One of my favorite snacks. What do you guys like? Crunch and munch. Crunch and munch. I can’t I I’ll be honest with you, Neil. I can’t remember the last time I saw a box of that out here in the supermarket. Well, I’m going to tell you, this stuff is so damn good. I can’t put it down. Unbelievable. Whole freaking box I ate. Son of a [ __ ] So, Mechy. Anyway, I you know, I think our offense, player for player on the roster, if you take the quarterback out for now, is better than our defense. What do you think of that comment? Player for player, it’s clo it’s it’s closer than we once thought because the defense has been bad this year. Yeah, I tend to agree with I tend to agree with Jake. It’s It’s really clo. Listen, our O line is way better than our Dline. I mean, and the trenches is where things where games are won and lost. And I’m telling you, man, our offensive line is way better. Our defensive line is trash. Our secondary is better than our wide receivers, though, by a lot. All right. Look, uh, now that you got Mason Taylor a tight end, you consider tight ends like linebackers. I think you got, let’s say it’s a wash there. I think it’s pretty close to a wash. Sherwood, Quincy, S and Garrett, and then the rest of it kind of, you know, kind of washy, wishy-washy. Steven isn’t good. Not as far off. Not as far off. And I will say this, I just have a, you know, I think they’re going to fix this. And I think that we’re going to come out of this by week with with a win. I just do. I just It’s going to It’s going to be the opposite of like we usually do. We usually jump out. We’re all excited. We’re six and four and two. Then we’re seven and four and then we lose the last six. Could we I think we might do something a little different here. I just do. And our And our competition on that schedule, Jake, put that schedule up again. I’m gonna give you my prediction. All right. How are the Jets going to finish 10 and seven? Neil, let’s hear it. Win Cleveland, win New England, win Baltimore, win Atlanta, win Miami. Jets, win New Orleans, win New England and Buffalo. It’s an easy one. All righty. And then we missed the playoffs. We missed the playoffs at 10 and seven. We We missed the playoffs. But in all seriousness, I thought I wish that New England game Thursday night, I don’t say I wish it was home, but I think I’d rather have it home the first time out. I I don’t Look, New England doesn’t scare me. I mean, they’re really playing great, but Jesus, they still I think they’re just being coached up. The quarterback’s really good, but you know, again, that’s the whole point. That’s if they have the coach and the quarterback, they’re at a huge advantage against I know, but you got to realize they don’t have either right now. Look, it’s half a season. It’s like when I play golf, sometimes I have a great nine holes where I’ll shoot a 38, a 39, and I think right away I’m gonna, you know, I’m going to break 80, right? And then I get on the 10th T and I whack one into the trap and I take two shots to get out and I get a five. You know, this is the way football is too, guys. It’s the same thing. I agree. But they got to prove it. Go like that. And I’m just saying beat the Browns first, Neil. They look good against Cleveland. I’m not Look, I’m not playing optimist. All I’m saying is that game will be big. We have to win that game to really something will be accomplished that we haven’t done in a long time. And that’s what we said earlier, Jake. It’s win out of the buy. That’s where we have had [ __ ] play all the way through except that giant debacle and other than that out of the buy were horrible, right? They’ve been horrific with extra time to prepare with out of the buy. They’ve been bad off wins. I still laugh. Remember last year Aaron Rogers like our most difficult thing we’re going to have to deal with is how we handle success when they were two and one and then the season fell apart shortly then after. But like that’s been a huge problem for years. It was a problem with Rex, too. Sometimes they’d have the these emotional wins and then they would have these just like put performances after. Uh so, look, I Glenn has to do a lot, I think, to get us to really start to buy back in, but it would be a good start to come out of the pie ready to go and beat the Browns. I want to start there. Miles Garrett, look, you know, I like the heavy personnel. I like two tight ends. In that game, you have to play two tight ends. The Browns are not great against the run. They’re they had a pretty good secondary, but you could run off of them. And G and you know, look, we did really well against the Steeler, you know, with against um TJ Watt. Yeah, we did good against that. That Watt didn’t have a smell on us that game, did he, Jeff? I don’t He didn’t get a sack. He made one He made one He made one big play in that game, but it wasn’t It wasn’t uh like he didn’t force start. Again, I I I He was playing better then than he is now. Neil, I’m sure I’ll get screamed at for this, but I think Miles Garrett is in a different category than DJ Watt. Oh, no. Miles Garrett is I think Garrett Garrett own. He is so big and fast. He’s the best end in the game right now. He had five sacks in one game. And I mean, he is unblockable one-on-one. He’s unblockable. So, I’m saying you got to hit him with a tight end. You got to chip him and that, you know, that’ll keep you keep them honest. But, you know, we’ll see how it plays out. Dylan Gabriel didn’t look great to me. I mean, is he any I don’t think he’s that great. What do you think, Jake? I think right now Fields is better, but Fields could also be the guy we saw in London or against Carolina. Who’s the running back Cleveland? Who’s the big back? Judkins. John Judkins. Is he any good? He’s explosive. He’s explosive. Nooku always has big games against us. He is the jet killer. New Jooku and and Judy is good, too. You know, they have Judy and Nooku. I don’t know who their second receiver is. Who’s their second receiver, Jeff? Come on. Well, what you call their big the big play of the game for them last week was our guy Malachi Corly in a big Oh, yeah. I saw that. Oh my god. Oh, he did the he did the play we were waiting for for two seasons where he takes a jet sweep around for 30 yards. Nah, we couldn’t do that. We didn’t we didn’t like that. Well, he did do that. He just dropped the ball before he reached the end zone, right? But I will Oh, I didn’t um Oh, [ __ ] When when who would we the other receiver we traded to Cleveland had a big game against us Elijah Moore? Elijah Moore. So, Malachi Corley is going to have Eli Elijah Moore had a good game against us that that game. So, good game against the Jets earlier this year, right? Look, look for Malachi Corley. What’s the o put the over on him on a bet? One of those over yards for him. Anyhow, that’s all I got. Everything good, Jeff, over there? Yeah, we’re hanging in, my friend. We’re hanging in. How’s Vegas good? You making any money over there? staying away from We’re hanging in, my friend. We’re hanging in. The weather live in Vegas and not gamble. Do you The weather The weather The weather’s great right now. It’s perfect time of the year. It’s It’s low 80s and all that stuff. It’s great stuff out here. My sons were out there like two weeks ago, I think, or last week. They went to a pool party. Nice. You know, got a little little action going. But that’s the toy. My son Michael loves Vegas, man. It’s the Toys R Us of the adults. Guys, I’m off before I make any more points. These goddamn exploding cigars. Gotta go, Jake. I’ll call back later. [ __ ] Neil, you’re one of a kind. Thank you. Couple super chats, then we’ll do a couple last second calls here with our guy Jeff. This one is from Dez, who’s in the raffle for five. Gonna win a Mangle jersey at the end of the show today, folks. So, make sure you enter. Jets are one and0. Since I quit my job, I felt that we needed to shake it up a bit for the team. So, I made an executive decision. I might have to take one for the team and just chill eating cereal all morning watching TV. Daz, if the Jets come out of their buy with another win, you’re not allowed to get a job until they lose again. Also, is that uh Jake, is he giving uh is he giving given British pounds instead of dollars here? What’s going on there? He is. Daz is one of our many uh UK-based listeners that tunes into the show. Nice. Nice. By the way, Jake, uh I was in L, you mentioned it earlier, was in London for that debacle against Denver. I had an amazing time in London. Love that city. What a great What a great place. Food was much better than I expected. The sightes are incredible. Great. Great. People were great. Loved it. Loved it over there. I had a great time last year, too. Everything, as I said, everything’s great till the game starts. You and I saw brutal jet losses in London the last two years. I was I was I will say my wife my my wife was significantly more angry than I was by the final result. You were expecting it. She was like I can’t believe you do this voluntarily at that point. It was well still so beaten down with what’s going on. But uh as soon as he kept the offense on the field instead of sending folk out for the 61 yard it’s like well all right that’s it. The best was afterwards. He’s like, “Yeah, you know, what was it, a 65 or 68, bro? It was a 61.” 60 hit from 58 two weeks prior to that. Yeah, 61. And it was coming right at us. The wind was a little bit more significant in that direction, but Folk would have made the kick and then they probably would have given up a field goal on the other end, but whatever. Oh, the pain. Uh, Pab Freddy says, “Yo, Jake, what’s up with Quinton Skinner? Is he still on the practice squad?” I think Quinton Skinner still is on the Jet practice squad. The fact that he hasn’t been called up kind of tells you that there’s really not a role uh for him on this football team, I’d imagine, but I think he’s still on their practice squad. He is. I just checked. Good college player. Fun college player at Kansas, but yeah, not not an NFL wide receiver. More of your calls. Let’s say hi to Tommy, our guy. OG Jets fan. Hello, Tommy. Jake, Jeff, how are you guys? What’s up, Tommy? What’s going on? Um, I want to start out with, um, first of all, shout out to Jquest. Uh, it’s his son, uh, John Luca’s birthday today and he’s going out to a, um, dinner with him and his wife. Happy birthday, John Luca. Jake Quest is my boy. Want to give a shout out real quick to him. Quest done. I thought there would be an applause, but um yo, but um Jeff Parles, what’s up, brother? Um I I feel you. I got that jersey in Thomas Jones and and um Brett Favre. Yeah, the Titans jersey, but I only got them for like $10 when they were like going out of stock like at the end of the they were already gone. But um always represent them jerseys because it remembers us of the good times with Thomas Jones like running down the middle. I’ll never forget when they wore those jerseys. They were monsters. And um just my question was uh also I just wanted to give a shout out huge shout out to Matt Oiri for doing everything he is. Um, soon as I get paid next week, man, for them 74 sweatshirts, I’m buying one definitely. Cuz Nick Mangold, God bless your soul, brother. You were the jet of the jet. And um, everybody needs to know like how you act, if you actually want to look at a jet, you look at Nick Mangled and that’s your pure pure example. Um my question uh to you will is um I get Will McDonald right if you want to trade him okay and say like if you can get a second or third round pick because we need a wide receiver. What’s happening next year is is we’re going to win three or four maybe five games if that maybe we’ll only win two or three. What I’m saying is we’re going to draft a quarterback. We got to develop him. We need a number two wide receiver. So, I could see why Will McDonald can get traded for a possible two or three, but like in your opinion, I I know you’re not I I don’t think you’re a Jeff fan, right? You’re not a Jeff fan. Jeff? Jeff? Are you a Jeff fan? Yeah, absolutely. Come on now. He’s wearing a Nick Bangle jersey. Okay. Okay. So my my my question is will you ever think about trading Bree Hall for a fourth or fifth round pick? I mean people think running I said it earlier in the show. I don’t think it makes much sense to trade him for a lower draft pick. I’d much rather have him around than have the option to franchise tag him going into next year. uh for Hall. Well, McDonald. I mean, I saw Germaine’s name floated, but I definitely would not trade Germaine Johnson. Germaine, I mean, look at the quality of the defense with Johnson there and Johnson not there. Like, completely different. Uh, with Maine there, McDonald’s interesting, but I don’t think Sini said you could get a third or a fourth for him. I’m saying no way would I do it for that. I don’t see getting better than a four for McDonald, and that’s not worth it. Uh really the only defensive guy that hasn’t been moved yet that I would consider moving forward something like that. Like if someone gave you a four for Quincy, I think I’d do it right because you haven’t been here all like that. Yeah. The only problem with that is that Sherwood contract looks awful right now. So I don’t know. Like I wouldn’t trade Bruce Hall for a four or five. I I wouldn’t. I do. I think they do. I think it’s a coin flip. I think it’s coin flip that they do. I think Kansas City and the Chargers would uh would be uh would be would be the uh the two best spots for him. But yeah, I I I wouldn’t do it. And I don’t think McDonald’s going I don’t think anywhere. I think Quincy is the only other guy on the defense that that that plays that could go at the deadline here. He’s the only Yeah, I agree with that. I would have said maybe they get they flip Tony Adams for something, but they kind of need him now. What’s Cisco done for the year? What the hell is someone going to give them for Tony Adams? They give him a seven. That’s not working. Not worth it. Not worth it. Uh Alan Lazard for a bag of footballs. You in? Fine with me. Fine with me. Why haven’t they just caught him at this point? It’s It’s insane. It makes no sense that he’s still here. Like it really is amazing. Like it’s hilarious because remember Robert Salah, the only player like he ever publicly criticizes when he was talking about Lazard and said that he’s going to be here for another year and a half referring to the contract when they can get out of it. and they ended up renegotiating and keeping them anyway now for a different regime. It’s amazing. By the way, also you’re going to laugh at this. I thought Sunday was one of the better Michael Clemens games we’ve ever seen. He had that one missed tackle other than missing the tackle and flacco. He actually played all right. You had you were at the best Clemens game we’ve had in years when he had the he created the safety in the end zone. Well, that was on the wrong side of the field for me. So, I didn’t even know who created that other Yeah, it was that was all Clemens, man. You’re the holy. Okay. All right. I’ll take your word for it. Even though I’ll tell you, Jake, the British guy in front of me was so goddamn confused on what the hell just happened on why did they get points for for for that. I was like, and as soon as they threw the flag and they showed his offensive PI and it was like it clears like, oh, it’s two on Denver. Like I told my wife, I’m like, oh, the Jets are getting points out of this. Like that’s going to be a safety in the end zone. And at that point, Jake, because the Jets were so bad in that game on offense and they were leading after that 11 to 10, I was cackling like a complete jack off in the stand like how the hell are they winning this game right now? I just I love the idea of like you in the stands uh having to having to like explain the game of football to the English fans or maybe we’re just there checking it out and like it’s like the worst version of American football ever. Well, you know what? I will say can I can I just say this? the Brits were like, so that game was like I don’t know how it came across on TV because my dad texted me, “Oh, hey, it’s a ProJet crowd, right?” And I’m like, “No, it was actually like 70% Bronco fans.” Like, what surprised me because the Jets have a huge following in the UK, but it was all like like the people in the row in front of me, the people to my right, they’re all Broncos season ticket holders who just made the trip. So, and and it was it was so a ton of Bronco fans. I would say is about 70% 65% Bronco fans, 25% Jet fans, and then as you know, you’ve been to a London game, 10% of just football fans who show up in whatever jersey they want to uh over there because it’s just the the uh uniqueness of having a game in in the United Kingdom. Uh but the fans are great. That was a great environment. Like for a crappy game with 24 points and one touchdown, a hell of an environment for for an international game. Yeah, look, the stadium is incredible, too. Like that. Imagine the Jets play there instead of Metife. Oh, well, look, I’ll also tell you this. How did you get there, Jake? Did you take the overground there? Uh, I I took an Uber with the great Domc took the uh the tube or what is it? The overground on the way back. Yeah, you take the overground to the tube. Uh the the they actually like again the train of Metife is a debacle as we know. Um especially when there’s enough people there. They actually handled the crowds okay. Actually handled the crowds pretty much okay, which again um London definitely does public transport better than than New York City. I know that for sure. Their stadium though, man. God. Tottenham lucky fans over there. Nice nice stadium. Nice place. Nice place for sure. All right, Jeeoff, we have a tweet from Bree Hall that he posted a little while ago here. We want to pull it up and let’s break down what we think this means. It’s a meme of a guy who appears to be eating either chips or popcorn here. Here’s the question I have. Is this an extension or is he being traded or does it mean nothing and Breece is just trolling as he’s done in the past? What do you think this tweet from Bree Hall means? I think it’s I think it would be one traded, two extension, three misdirection. Those are my three. Jake extension, baby. I hope it’s extension. That would be great. Take the Carter money that you were on the books for that you no longer have to worry about and put it in an extension for $12 million a year over the next two. Yeah, it would be good with me, man. I look, keep your good players, right? Or it could also be what D what Dana just said says seeing what happens when you feed me which is true like you you gave him the ball like he was the best player on the field on Sunday. He was no doubt he’s the best player on the field for either team in a game that featured the to me the best receiver in the NFL Jamar Chase. Like Hall was the best player on the field that day. Fair. All fair. All right, let’s do one more call with you, Jeff, because every time you’re on, this guy can’t wait to talk to you. You know exactly where I’m going next. Ladies and gentlemen, time to say hello to Bobby Midnight. Hi everybody. This is Bob from Vermont. I am Bob, of course. Hi Jake. Kai Jeff Pauls. I got it right. Jeff Paul’s right. Did I get it right? Finally. Right. Yeah. Not Jeff Parcels. I got that one. The big tuna. Yeah. No, the big tuna. Hey, do you go to Italy, too, on your trip? I I went everywhere, my friend. I I I did. Uh I was in London for five days. I was in Munich for three. I was in Italy for a week. Uh my one of my one of my best friends, uh John, my my my buddy from college, John, got married. uh him and his beautiful bride Macy Kate got married in uh in Florence in uh uh it was beautiful. There’s a picture of me in a in a tuxedo which is also a rarity as well. Wow. We got to see that picture. Yeah. No, it was uh it was uh it was an amazing time, my friend. It was an amazing time. Very good. Yeah. Very good. I’m happy to see you today. I called you did your show again. They said you were in Europe. Yep. Yep. Uh yeah, absolutely. Are you going to be on? What day? So, uh Oh, really? I’ll tweet I’ll tweet I will tweet out the link and uh I will uh make sure that Jake gets it to you. Does that sound good? Yeah, I call Jake on ESPN, too. They’re nice people. They answer they let you talk. Wait a second. We want to talk. Yeah. Michael K, when I called the show the other day, the guy in the back let me in. But on WFN, the guy in the morning won’t let me in. Uh Al Dukes is not a big fan of Bobby Midnight. Yeah. What happened? What does Al Dukes have against you, Bobby? I don’t know. He He doesn’t think Bobb’s a good enough caller. Well, he’s wrong. He’s wrong. He never saw the one when I called in Keith McFersonson uh Kenobyl. So, he better Look at that keep and shut his pie. How’s Canopel doing these days, by the way? He ended up Yeah, he could be dead. He got into a bad crash. Hey, Jake, can I sing Jay Qu’s uh son a happy birthday? Uh, maybe. I’ll think about it. All right. Well, I was just trying to be nice. All right. I I said I’ll take it under advice. Okay. Take it. I’m only I’m only singing the JQU Quest song if JQU calls in personal. All right, that’s fine. Jake, uh, Jeff Carls, it was nice to see you today. Great to see you as always, Bobby. Yep. I’ll talk to you soon, Jake. Have a great day. I’ll see everybody later. You got it, Bob. Oh, you know, I’m doing another Zoom meeting. Oh, farts. Jake’s going live. Got to end my freaking stream. I’m Mr. Paros, the Jets have a win. They’ve made some trades. If we talk next week, we will see what the heck happens with our football team. But I feel like the biggest trade has already been made. I hope it has been. I hope the biggest trade’s been made because if not, then then we got our work cut out for us next Wednesday when I’m with you, man. So that is true. But uh pleasure as always as maniacs. Great to see you. Uh I’m not going to be missing any more Wednesdays moving forward, guys. You will see me every Wednesday moving forward. So let’s go. There’s no more trips. There’s no more other idiocy going on. I we are we are locked and loaded moving forward on Wednesdays here. Jake love it. Everyone go follow Jeff on his Twitter account, Jeff Parl. You’ll see him posting when he’s live on ESPN Vegas and all his other jobs that he has. So check it out, Jeff. We’ll talk soon, man. Appreciate you. Appreciate it, buddy. Jeff Parl with us in his weekly spot live from Vegas. Usually I’d ask him for a betting angle on the Jets, but there’s no game this week. But on FanDuel, you could take the Jets against the buy. And I love the Jets in this spot. I don’t think they’re going to lose. Take the Jets on the money line against the buy. Comments, questions, super chats. Quick call recap from Neil who called in earlier. Point one, Neil can crush an entire box of crunch and munch. No problem. Point two, believes our offensive line is better than our defensive line. Point three, believes the Jets are winning against Cleveland. Point four, predicts the Jets will go 10 and seven, but miss the playoffs. Point five, the Jets season is similar to Neil’s golf game. Point 6, Miles Garrett is picking fast. 7 is worried about Malachi Corley next week lighting up the Jets. Point8 considers Las Vegas to be the toys are us for the adults. Neil used eight of his 13 points during the call. Super chat from Marshall who’s in our Nick Mangled jersey giveaway at the end of the show here for two. He says two sack day for McDonald against Cleveland. Would love that. Dana Russell checks in. Curious if they plan to make Mchi earn his next contract or if they already know he’ll take a prove it deal this off seasonason. Now he’s a restricted free agent so they they have rights to him. This is a total prove it for me. They need talent. He’s 25. He’s got talent. We’ll see if they could get anything out of him. Hey, congrats to listener Cooch who found that that he’s having a boy in March and wants to know should I make him a Jets fan. Hey, if you’ve had to go through all this suffering, so should he, right? It builds character. And cooch, since you’re having a boy in March, this is for you. Congrats. Congrats on the sex. Happy for you and your family. All right, more of your calls right now. Let’s check in for the first time today with a man that goes by many names in his universe. Around here, though, we call him Beast. I just had chicken. Chicken. [Applause] One down. Got plenty more to go. Well, best of luck to Michael Carter and his f his future endeavors. Now, there’s one more. There’s a few more to go. Let’s see. Clemens. I think it’s time say we have to part ways from. He’s he’s nothing but a you know the usual you know penalty prone and likes to bring the penalties in. I think it’s best that we start looking and getting options and start making some better deals and get some better trades. But let’s let’s see what we could do first because cap space next year going to be a little bit tight. We’re going to have to gonna have to squeeze a couple rounders here and there. But I think we’ll be okay. They have 75 million in cap space. Be piece. They’ll be fine. We’ll be fine. That’s what I’m saying. Now, next. Now, this is what I’m gonna say right here. The Williams brothers are not going anywhere. No, not going anywhere. Johnson not going anywhere. And um Reese Hall not going anywhere. Garrett Wilson not going anywhere. But uh I do know two guys are going to be leaving. Lazard Bum and Clemens. See you. Spencer Green wants to know what you thought of Michael Carter’s final game for the Jets on Sunday. He did fine. He did fine, but unfortunately, uh, you know, we have to we have to move on. It’s like it’s it’s like when you you know, when you gradu when you graduate, once you graduate, you move forward. It’s like it’s like a process. You go to school, you go to grammar school, you graduate. You go to high school, you graduate. Did you graduate from grammar grammar school? Oh, yeah. I got what I wanted. I I got everything I wanted. I work my way up that ladder. It’s called What about middle school? Hey, you start down here first. That’s baby steps right there. Then you work your way up the lad. It’s like when you go rung by rung by rung by rung. You got to keep climbing. It’s not It’s not going to be easy to get to the top. What about middle school? That’s simple [ __ ] That’s easy. High school. Been there, done that, seen. Heard lived it. What about college? Been there, done that scene. Where’d you go to college? Did you forget, Sunny Boy? Colia, come on. Columbia, the the Ivy League institution. Hey, Columbia College. Not not not too far from here. This one train ride gets you right there. One train ride. Columbia in Illinois. Yeah. Yeah. Columbia College, right? Not not too far from here. takes about an hour and 15 to get there because you gotta walk you gotta walk 20 minutes. Then you got to take the train, which that’s an hour because you gotta you gotta go you gotta go from Pilaski all the way around. Unless if you want to get off at Roosevelt and take and take a cheap shot and take the green line green line from Roosevelt to Adams and Wash. Do you have your diploma hung up in the attic there? Uh, mine mines are put my my diplomas are put in a private stash. Not to be touched. In a private stash. Yeah. Not to be touched. So, you have all your diplomas in a private next few games. Cleveland, we just Where’s the private stash? Yeah. Don’t worry. You’ll you’ll see in the coming time frame. But we’re going to be fine. Is it in the attic? It’s in the studio department, but it’s put in a box somewhere. But now JD says no diploma. He doesn’t believe you have a diploma. Ah, he’s full of [ __ ] That’s why he’s a dummy. I’m going to say this one time. Cleveland will says private stash imagination. Is this true? Is it an imagination of a private stash or a private stash exist? All real deal. But I’m I’m only say this once. Cleveland will get lucky. New England. I don’t know. We’re not I’m not Shane wants to know why you always sound like a drunk. I’m not want to talk about the goddamn comments. I want to talk about what’s going to happen right here from from here on in because we got 10 more weeks of football left. We got to start really putting it together. Really only nine more games though. What are your thoughts on that? We’re gonna we’re going to be fine against Cleveland. Okay. I think they’re going to come out and smack us around because Right. But what about what about this bye-week? What’s the approach against BYE? There’s no there’s no match. We just got to have a we’re going to have a week off. We got to got to start you got to go back to the books. You got to start training and start going back. What should we do for our bodies? Take care of Take care of them. Train a little. Exercise. Eat healthy. Look good. Look great. Stay physical. Think of God. Think of the good things in life. There’s good There’s going to be good times. There’s going to be bad times. There’s going to be horrible times. And sure, we’re right now we’re still at the bottom of the earth’s court, but we’ll get out of it as the time tells. All we have to do is believe in yourself. Believe in yourself. If we don’t believe in ourselves, then what the hell? Hey, Mike. Did you get a new camera, Beast? You look more horrifying. I really don’t give a Do I look like I want to talk about camera crap right now? Well, did you get a new camera? No. Everything’s just fine. Think’s just fine. Will you nuts? We’re g We’re not going to get past Baltimore. I know that for a fact. New Orleans, I think we’ll be okay. We’ll We’ll probably see surge right past them. Miami, we’ll probably be okay because Miami got lucky last time. Sure. They got shitty defense and shitty offense, but that’s fine. That’s fine. Am I going to [ __ ] about it? That’s what we need to do to Miami. We have to flush him down the toilet. Just paint a picture like like a Picasso. Just take the paint. Paint the word. Did you ever see the movie? Do you remember you remember the movie The Mask where uh Jim Carrey I got gas right now. [Music] Can we not Can we not Can we not please bring you I’m trying to make you know p silent points here with with business life here. These are your words though. I’m just playing the back. I understand that. Oh, when you got to fart, you got to fart. You just ripped ass. You’re no better than Gorman. At least I’m 10 times sexier than Gorman. That’s a guarant goddamn team. That’s real. That’s per That’s perfectly common sense right there. But I think, you know, if we don’t get if we make six or seven wins, that’s fine. But we just got to look to next year. Next year, I think we’re going to be in line for a couple, you know, maybe a couple round draft picks. But if we get lucky and maybe get Mendoza, okay, we’ll have to watch our checkbooks because we we don’t have we got a great cap space, but we got to spend the money wisely, not poorly. Remember, spend the money wisely, not poor. Dad says, “Be my friend. How do you think that Corley and Moore played last week?” They did fine. They did very well. All you got to do is keep your feet keep your feet on the ground and and keep looking to the stars. And remember, don’t play stupid. Just play hungry. Play like you mean it. Play like play every match like like it’s your last thing. Do you play like you’re hungry back in your playing days? Was that a mentality thing? It’s always been that mentality. You got to think you got to think about the retrospects and the retrospects. You don’t think about these things and where’s your future going to be in the in the coming years when you reach your 60s7s or your 80s. What if you’re not hungry? Hey, it depends. It depends on where you go and it depends on how how you feel. You got to think about that, too. You know, if you feel great, you feel good. If you don’t feel like it, don’t take it. It’s like It’s like how Javanni says it at his place. Hey, if the mozzarella don’t bleed milk, send it back. Kabish, what’s for dinner tonight? Feast chops. Chops. Pork chops. Lamb chops. No, pork chops. Fresh. And I’m talking fresh. Fresh with a little spice to it. With a little little smoke. Now, Beast, before I let you go, this was sent to me by a longtime listener of the show who claims they saw you out in the wild. Is this you? Don’t do it. Oh my god. He’s going up. No way. This is the most stupidest thing I’ve ever saw. Pretty pathetic. Is that you? This is I’m sorry. This is ridiculous. Very irately foolish. Whoever Whoever sent this video in has to have the brain of a piss and and completely brain dead as a b as a bucket of [ __ ] on a cold day. Very very very uh un uneducated uneducated fool. Now, all right, move along to the next caller. that beast. Thank you. Super chat here from Les who’s in the raffle for two. Hey Jake, Nick told me not to hold my breath for another receiver. As I stated earlier, we need another wide receiver and here we are. Meti’s not an all world beater, but we could definitely use him. I I think that was I don’t want to misquote Nick Shine, but I think that was more in reference to like an actual, you know, proven commodity receiver. John Mchi is not that. Yeah, John Mchi barely got on the field with the Eagles. What do you have? Four catches. I mean, look, he he’s a guy that once upon a time was regarded as someone that could be a good player. We’ll see. But I I like swinging on guys who are 25 that have talent because you never know. Like he wasn’t going to get a ton of opportunities in Philly. They don’t throw the ball a lot and they have a bunch of really good playmakers on the outside when they do throw. You know, this guy last year had a game for Houston where he had like 80 yards and a touchdown. So, he just needs more consistency, but he also needs time to play. So, I like the idea of bringing in someone with some potential upside. I’m not expecting much, but you know what? You were not going to get anything from Michael Carter. So to get a guy that has talent, to get a guy that’s young and doesn’t cost you anything to basically try him out. These are the type of like bottom of the roster swings I like Muji and Glenn trying to take a flyer on. So I like the move. More calls. Ladies and gentlemen, let’s get to them right now. David T, we’re coming to you. Get your head and smash it in front of your camera. Where’s my David T intro? There it is. I’ve got my eye on you. Fireball whiskey time. David mother. Hi Jake. David T. I’m really feeling kind of good about things right now. um talking about the offensive line getting better and uh the positive things and uh you know we we got to keep we got to keep backing um Aaron Glenn um because I think no matter what you know uh Woody’s going to re-up him and uh I uh h there was one other other important thing I was going to say Um D uh anyway. Oh yeah, Neil had said maybe this time, you know, when they play cuz the Jets are notorious for letting uh building us up to letting us down. Maybe this time when they play the Browns, they might do something different. They got to be ready to play, David. That’s my big thing. like this to me is a limpus test on the state of the coaching if there’s actual improvement or if it was an outlier performance against the Bengals. Yeah. And you know what, Jake, I I my feeling is I I actually wish you know uh they would uh Aaron Glenn said, you know, with the momentum they would be playing this week. But uh you know what, it is what it is and uh it’s going to be uh going to be a tester for him. Do you think they’re up for the test? Who me? Yeah, I’m I’m I love it. I mean, your show’s fascinating. Uh the people that come on and the Asmaniacs, you know, I don’t really I I claim to know a little bit about football, but so much information. And uh I am really up for the test. I I I I I’m I’m I’m so looking forward to the Cleveland game and to see what happens. Give us a score prediction for the bye-week. Forget Cleveland, David, predict the Jets outcome. They’re facing the the vaunted BYE. How do you think it’s going to go? team like these uh and through your show, you know, they they they Cleveland can’t score uh score too many points. Uh depending on what Justin Field shows up, who just uh which Justin Field shows up? I’m going to say 20. Uh, I’m going to say 1710. Okay, so Jets win 1710 against the buy. Uh, yeah. Well, you you know, you kind of put me on the spot and uh uh that that’s what I’m feeling. Okay, Jets will get a win during the bye-week. You heard it here first from David T. I got my iron Eug. I hope you like my Jets take. You know they call me David T. It’s not easy for me to see. But if you bring me full screen, you might like what I had to say. I’ll need to get real damn close cuz my vision is dog [ __ ] Thank you very much, David T. Now back to our studio live show of the Jake Azard Show. Take it. [Music] Yeah, it is. All I wanted to say is J E T S Jets. Jets Jets, baby. Thank you very much, Tommy. Love the passion. JJ in the raffle for five. pissed at Woody for his comments and raising ticket prices again. Jets say it’s because of a ninth home game in 2026, but it’s just an extra preseason one. They think we’re dumb. Woody really is an idiot. And I know the players see it, too. I talked about this yesterday. It is an absolute disgrace for the Jets to have any sort of increase in season ticket prices. I don’t care what justification there is. It is a terrible look. the owner remains completely tonedeep and I apologize to the great Jet fans out there who got to continue to deal with this. I would if I had a chance to be a season ticket holder, I wouldn’t do it. I rather just pay for whatever games I want to go to, not have the upfront cost because as we’re seeing again this year, you go on the secondary market and you can get into the building for way cheaper for good seats than whatever you’re paying for for your season tickets. It’s not like you’re saving up to get face value for a home playoff game. You haven’t had that since 2002. So, it it is a joke how the Jets I think treat their loyal fans. So, I would not renew my season tickets at all. I think you just lose money. Just buy your ticket to the home opener. Buy your ticket for the games you want to go to. That’s it. You’ll save money over year over year. Beast, you a Jet season ticket holder? Oh, I wish. Unfortunately, let’s see where the money goes first. First come, first serve. Now, back to the Jay Gasman show. Take it. Take it. Take it away, General Custard. Hey, I got to step out. You host the show. All right. Well, since it’s beautiful Wednesday, we’re all nobody gives a [ __ ] Don’t worry, Beast. I figured it out. Uh, this one is from Strong Island Jets guy. To be positive, maybe this ends up good. Players rally like the 81 Niners and 90s Cowboys, winning in spite of ownership noise directed at players. I don’t know, man. You think the Jets are going to win what their next nine and finish 10 and seven? Come on. I like we I think they definitely used Woody’s comments for motivation this past Sunday, but I don’t think that’s sustainable. They’re not good enough. I I hope Fields proves me wrong and they finished 10 and seven, but I I I doubt that’s what’s happening here. All right, we only have 15 people that have entered the raffle so far. So, I’m going to gift the membership right now. And if you get a membership, I will put you in for a chance to win a Mangle jersey at the end of the show and in our weekly raffle for the three weekly prizes. I’m gifting one as we speak. Five, four, three, two, one. Hit it, AG. I want to go. Yeah. Listener, NYC camper, just receive a gifted membership from yours truly. All right. Home stretch. Last chance to get in here. Let’s say hello to Doug on the bed. Hello, Doug. Jake, good afternoon. Hope you’re doing well. Doug, do you believe in lighting or you just rather sit in darkness? I’d rather sit in darkness. Okay, fair enough. You know, it’s daylight savings. It’s going to be at dark at 4:30 starting next week. So, that’s true. Did you go to the Marty Lions event in Boston, by the way, for the Boston? I was unfortunately not able to make it because I had some uh prior uh prior obligations, but I did put in a bid for the um auctions and just didn’t win. Cool. But from what I heard and what I saw, it was still a great event. Again, I just wasn’t able to make it. But the Boston Jets fan club do a great job with a lot of this stuff. So, and it was the fourth one, I think, and I imagine they’ll do it again next year. Yeah, definitely. Great cause. Marty’s the man. Shout out to everyone over at the Boston Jets Club. Not easy being a Jet fan in Boston, especially this year. No, it is not. Um, amongst Neil’s 10 points, I don’t One of the ones that I wasn’t crazy with is point on New England. Like, yeah, they looked good and Drake May does look good, but outside of the Bills game, who have they really beat? You’re talking about the the Patriots, right? Outside of the Bills game, who have they really beat that’s like impressed you? Um, I mean that’s their most impressive win, but I mean, you know, six and two is six and two. They got a coach. The quarterback’s playing well and you just you can only play against who you’re playing against. It just they haven’t had like the murderers row of mur teams is all agreed. Do I think they’re an upper echelon team in the league? No. But record-wise, I think they’d be the two seed right now. So, you know, it is what it is. Uh, but going to the Jets, the trade, uh, I’m one of the rare Duke football fans in the world. So having a Duke football guy on the Jets and then him do well, you know, wish Michael Carter the best of no ill will just like injuries and just not a scheme fit. You move on from that and he has probably the biggest what if two of the biggest whatifs in the past last few years for the Jets. The if JFM didn’t call for that BS roughing the passer and the game when Zach Wilson outdooled Patrick Mahomes. That was that call was worse. That like phantom holding call that overturned that uh MC interception. But yeah, you like the trade. You get a higher pick and Miy you have nothing at wide receiver. He comes into him by a week. So you give him time to learn the offense a little bit more. Plug him in at wide receiver two or three next week and see what you got in a guy who’s 25. As you said it, got to give credit for a guy who beat cancer and is still able to stay in the league. Obviously, there’s still some level in talent there teams believe in. And you got to give credit to Muji for trades so far. All of his trades have looked good, I’d say. Like I don’t think he gonna have a problem with any of his trades. They’ve all improved the team’s play. I mean, the team hasn’t won, but they they were all improvements on the team. I I agree. Look, I I’m not sitting here telling you guys that John Bi is going to be awesome. But I’ll take my chance on a 25-year-old with talent at a dire position of need for a guy that we like, but he wasn’t going to be here next year. He wasn’t having a good year. You were going to cut him and lose him for nothing and take a 2 million dead cap charge. Now, at least you improve a little bit from the seventh to the sixth round and you get a guy that you give a try out to when you have nothing to lose. So, I think it’s a good deal. I don’t think it’s going to be as good as Brownley or Phillips or Briggs, but I think given what the alternative was, I think Muji did a nice job here. I have no issue with it whatsoever. Yeah. And just again, man, what if the the the roughing the passer didn’t get called? You go to seven and Oh, that one. Yeah. That’s one of the big whatifs in recent Jet history, right? one of the big whatifs of the Salah era. What happens if roughing is not called on JFM and that Michael Carter pick six stands. They win that game. Who knows? That was kind of like the start of the the downturn of that season. It would have been 17 to three. The Patriots would have been dead. They would M. Jones wasn’t going to be in it. The Jets were going to go and then they beat the Bills the next week. We feeling good. And then then you had the Mike White stuff and just h pain. But yeah, let’s get an update on this from Boomtown. He says, “Doug, can we get an update on your roommate’s girlfriend that moved in with you guys last year and forced you off the couch in a different apartment and don’t live with that roommate anymore. I w I wish ill on that roommate. And I I I don’t wish death upon anybody, but if he was dying in front of me, I wouldn’t save him.” Wow. Okay. Now, h how is your girlfriend? What is the latest there? Tell you what what’ you say? My ex. I couldn’t tell you. Okay. So, she’s gone out of the picture, too. Boomtown, what are you doing, man? you bringing up. You’re you’re you’re you know, Boom Town just wants you to relish in pain and not be happy for the rest of what’s the expression? You’re picking out scabs. Yeah. You know, like you know, I moved on. You know, it’s months ago. Like Boomtown, why are you trying to bring up old wounds? You know? Yeah. I have a job. It’s a job, but it’s a job. So, you know, like why are you trying to bring up old wounds? You know, any new ladies in the picture, Doug? Are you Are you a bachelor uh around town? Taking things slow. You know, Boston dating scene is hit or miss these days, but uh you do what you can. It’s harder to meet people nowadays because it’s only the dating apps which are also hit and miss. It just no one meets naturally these days which sucks. Yeah. You a Hinge guy, Doug? I am. You’re hinging away. Yeah. Yeah. But you gota It’s like got to get a flash pass for get to get the good stuff in Hinge. They want you to pay and it’s like that’s a scam. I know. I know. They are. They all these dating apps, man. It’s all about spending money to get all the features. I know. Yeah. It’s crazy. It’s crazy trying to meet people in 2025. Well, hang in there, Doug. You’re you’re quite the catch. All right. Who wouldn’t want to date a Jet fan? And we know they’re loyal. Yeah. Yeah. That’s my biggest like, hey, you don’t have to worry about me about cheating. I’ve been a Jet fan for 28 years. So, there you go. Ladies and gentlemen, Doug on the bed. [Applause] All right, last chance to get in. We have no one on hold right now. So, if you want to call in, you’ll go right to the front of the line. If you’re a new caller, you get two raffle tickets and you don’t have to wait right now. So, I’m putting the link in again. If not, I will end the show early. Couple super chats, though. Let me shout out Dawn, who joins our raffle for two. Shout out to you, Don. Thanks for the super chat. If you had a comment you meant to attach to this, throw it in the chat. I’ll look for it. We’ll bring it up. Kevin, he sent in a $2 super chat. Thanks, Kevin, for your support. Spencer Green says, “If the Jets go 10 and seven, Jake has to shave his head. If the Jets go 10 and seven, you got a deal. You got a deal.” Kevin with a super chat goes, “Jake, thank you for all the Jets content. I’m a little behind on the episodes. No way in a hundred years you can convince me Scott, the guy with the brush on his head, is a real person.” Kevin, you’re the man. Thanks, dude. Scott is real. Scott is definitely real. He is uh electric. Good to have Scott calling the other day. Blast from the past for anyone who’s been with the show longer than a year. Love it. Fib says, “I got it on the record. I’d be happy to shave my head if the Jets finish 10 to seven. All right, JD says, “Have Gorman shave.” I’ll have Gorman. I’ll go to I’ll drive to Gorman’s house and he could shave it. They finished 10 and seven. I would love that. Speaking of Gorman, he just got gifted a membership by Matt L. Hit it, AG. Matt L in the raffle for five. Charles A. Gorman. Chelsea Porto Ro Romano Jugs Artist Recipes with Reed or receiving a channel membership. Open phone lines for anyone who wants in. This is your last chance to get in on the conversation. Hey, now we have a 20 spot. Arya says for Nick, 20 channel memberships donated in honor of Nick Mangled. He is in our Nick Mangle jersey raffle coming up for 10. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s raining memberships. Get your ass off my super chats. Some of these are gifted memberships, too. Ah, the hell with it. Let’s go, Arya. Thank you, my man. You are in the raffle for 20 for both our daily and weekly. 20 people just got memberships. Let me shout them out. Hulk smash, Nick Bigalow, Robert Fandal, Deshawn West, Noel F. Jets, please win another game. Just in my bag, Blackjack 2020, Allan Hasgaria, DJ Tiger, Yur, Rick Hayen, Dawn Marie, Daniel Ruth, Steven Kinslow, and Nate A. Oh, there’s a couple more here. Matt Guterson, Joe Galino, and Mad Willie all receiving a gifted membership. Hit the jet chant. Let’s go, Ara. [Applause] One more. Love it. Thank you to Arya. All right. Ryan says, “Jay got that dork haircut.” What’s wrong with my haircut? I didn’t even get a haircut. I just took a shower before this and did the show. How would you like my hair to be styled, Ryan? Let’s see your hair, you probably you ugly prick bag. Hey. Uh, I’m just kidding. Or maybe not. I mean, I don’t know who you are. Uh, Arya. Oh my goodness. Another 20 spot. Are you kidding me? Sound the alarms. [Music] Wow. Now give me money or I shoot him and I shoot all your motheruckers and then we take it. Your choice, [ __ ] A helmet and an umbrella in the same show. Rare Ara 20 spot. IS Jay-Z jet van Xavier Poe Rob T Cliff Burlu 100 mile per hour Jets please win a game Ryan whatever your name is you’re ugly uh Robert Walsh David Rivera DG Men 650 Aaron Glenn please be the answer Ryan McGrath 3830 you suck nobody loves you you’re adopted And your parents don’t even love you. Matt Sean Collins Cruz, Steve Gruden, Mark Leayan, Matthew Zucker, Mark Steven, all receiving a gifted membership there. Hell yeah, Arya. Thank you. Thank you. Thank you for your unbelievable generosity. 40 people just got memberships there from Arya and that is great. Arya just got himself 40 raffle entries. Matt says, “Jake, we need to push you over 50,000 members.” Yeah, look, it’s hard when the team’s not winning. We just hit over 43,000 subscribers, so I’m grateful to everyone who supports the channel. If the Jets were winning, we would grow a lot quicker. That’s just the reality of it. You know, my uh my buddy CP, the franchise, runs the biggest Knicks channel, he told me they gained like 25,000 subscribers during the Knicks playoff run, which is insane. So, it’s just hard, man. Like, if the Jets aren’t winning, you’re not going to bring in like new viewers. Like people aren’t going to be seeking out Jets content. That’s what brings people in. Like the dieards are here. You guys, some of you have been with me since I started doing the show. This is my fifth season doing everyday Jet shows. We started doing two shows a day in August of 23. So, we’ve been, you know, four hours a day pretty much for two years. But, it’s hard to bring in new subscribers when the team’s not winning because guys aren’t seeking new content. Now, the offseason, you could gain some subs. I gained more subscribers during the offseason pursuit of Aaron Rogers than any other time. But, you know, the Jets are going to be interested in getting a quarterback in the draft. We’re going to have combine debates and player debates on which quarterback to take. I think we’re going to do the show from the the Super Bowl again this year and the combine for sure, but I might even go to the Senior Bowl and broadcast from out there that week because of the Jet situation at quarterback. So, we’ll see. Hulk smash says LFG Jet Nation. It’s it’s an amazing fan base. Uh it just it takes time to get to 50 without winning. I mean, imagine the Jets are ever good. We built this channel without any winning seasons. The best we’ve seen is a seven and 10 year. So, it makes it tough. Jesse says, “Jet resigned wide receiver Brandon Smith after waving him a couple days ago.” Yeah, that that was to be expected, right? They knew no one was going to claim him, so they put him on the practice squad. Kevin says, “I subscribed on my girlfriend’s YouTube as well. She has no interest in football.” Hey, I appreciate that, man. Thanks, Kevin. SX says, “Don’t trade Breece.” I agree. I would try and extend Breeze. Arya, who just gifted 40 members, says, “Dick Mangled made me become a fan of the Jets. I’ve been so upset about his death.” Arya, well said, man. It’s it’s it’s it’s devastating. It just doesn’t feel real. Honestly, I I haven’t heard when like the service for Nick Mangled will be. If the Jets are going to do anything, I know the Jets are going to do something before the next home game. They’ll, you know, they’ll honor him, you know, I’m sure with a big pregame ceremony. But, uh, I think the next step for us as fans is to get Nick Mangled into the Hall of Fame and continue to advocate for that. And you know, hopefully I know Rich Seamini is now part of the pool of uh writers and NFL reporters who debate and ultimately vote on who gets in. You know, I think I think Rich would advocate for angles. That’d be great. That’s the next step, though. But it’s crazy. All right, let’s do one more call here because that’s all we have on the line. James B will close us out and then we’ll do the raffle. What’s up, James? Hey, Jake. Hey. Uh, congrats on your success in just five years. I could have swore you did this a lot longer than that. Um, I wish I could say I was an OG, but I think I’ve only been watching for three and a half to four years. So, I missed your first year on that. That’s a long time. But I do I appreciate it. Yeah, of course. And I talk to you uh with all my friends or sorry, I talk about you to my my buddies. They’re all Giants fans unfortunately, but I’m trying to turn them around. Uh, at first I wasn’t happy about the trade and to be quite frank, this might be an insignificant trade in the grand scheme of things cuz I have good memories of Michael Carter the second um, when he first started out. You know, he was a little surprising. Um, but I guess yeah, he got hurt and supposedly he’s just Brownley took over, I believe. if you can correct me if I’m mistaken. I think Brownley took over for him and has been shown some promise. So, if we can get something out of Michael Carter the second, like a meti or whatever it is. I don’t know how to pronounce his last name cuz I think he only has four receptions this year, but he’s also behind AJ Brown and that other great receiver. So, maybe he’s also a good receiver. He just has um people loaded, you know, on the death chart right on top of him. So, we’ll see what he can do. But Jake, we got that win. The one thing that Glenn has over all the other head coaches, he has not let up on a winning streak yet so far. So, we have our winning streak. Let’s keep it going. And just remember to all the people who are fighting for draft picks, ultimately my goal is to extend our meaningful football cuz as Jets fans, we don’t get that very often. Usually, our season’s over in November. This one’s catastrophic, but we with every win, we stay alive and we have meaningful football. So, I’m thankful for that because nothing’s more depressing than watching a team that is already out mathematically. So, I’m just thankful for that and thankful for you, Jake. James, impressive call to do that and not sound tired at all. Well done. I don’t know how he got that and didn’t like collapse. All fair, uh, I wouldn’t expect much from Mechi, but it’s a dart throw and it cost you nothing to do it. You were not going to keep Michael Carter. You cleared his contract. You moved up in the draft, right? Your seventh round pick, you know, picking a little higher in the sixth round. Did a little pick swap. I like the move. I like the move a lot. I thought that was going to be our last caller, but Shane from Texas has called in. So Shane, you are potentially the final caller. What’s up, Shane? Hey, man. I just wanted to shout out to your show, man. Great show. I love it. Love everybody. Everybody calls. True Jet Vans coming in and out. New Yorker that moved to Texas, but you know, I still got my flag flying high. What part of Texas? I lived in Houston for six years almost. I know. I Thank you for uh letting me know where the Houston uh the Houston uh Jets really hang out. I’ve been up there a couple times. Now that they’re winning, I got to get back over there and support them. And it’s just been a it’s been a great time. Uh Nice. So you’re in Houston. Cool. Cool. Yeah. Seeing fans outside of New York is just like I got a little piece of New York still hanging with me. But um do you think on um when they play the Browns they’re going to see Shador out there or what? Uh I think it’s going to be probably Gabriel. I I mean I guess I guess we could see Shador, but wasn’t he inactive this past week, right? Yeah, he had some back issues or something like that, but I feel so much hype now that he’s second string. like why not put him out there, you know? And I’m just wondering, you know, just seeing what the people think and like, hey, I would love to see you some fresh meat out there and just to Jets show him a little sack exchange. Yeah, I mean, look, I I guess it’s possible. I don’t know his health status. I haven’t looked into it yet. They’re on the buy this week, too. So, we’ll find out. But whether it’s Shadore making his debut or it’s Gabriel or whoever, that’s a game the Jets got to win if they’re serious about trying to show real improvement. Yeah. And listen, I’ll be down at the I’m going to the Saints game. I’m going to I’m going to New Orleans for the uh December game. It may not mean anything, but I’m going there with my Grinch mask and everything. Hopefully, I don’t have to wear it. I love it. Well, Shane, great call, man. First time calling in, right? Yes, sir. Yes, sir. Sweet. I’m going to put you in the raffle for two, man. Enjoy Houston. Go get some pluckers for us. All right. Oh, definitely. I will do. We’ll do. Keep it up, man. I love the content. Keep it up. Love it. Thank you, Shane. Appreciate that. Great call. Go get plucked up, as I used to say. Pluckers is like a Texas uh sports bar that I’d go with my friends and eat wings on what football at. Uh let’s see. All right, we’re caught up on the super chats here. That I thought that was going to be the last call, but it’s not. A Frankie’s on the line. What’s up, AZ? What’s up, Jake? How’s it going, man? How are you? I’m going I’m doing great, man. I just I was excited to get that win this past this past Sunday. It was the strange thing about it is I didn’t hear about Mangle dying until like like the first quarter like they had announced it and I was like I was kind of devastated man because I just remember watching you know 2009 2010 era Jets football and that was such a nostalgic time and and Mangle was like man he was like the staple of that team and uh it it breaks my heart man that that he’s not alive anymore. We’re we’re the same age, right? I’m like 40. We were born in ‘ 84. So, it’s like uh you know, I watched his whole career and just what he was doing afterwards and then just seeing that was devastating, man. But with I think that they played their hearts out for Nick Mangold and uh you know, I just love what like Aaron Glenn said. He said uh you know, he’s a jet through and through, you know, and he’s just like one of our family, you know, just it’s heartbreaking, man. But we got the win for him and we’re fighting, man. That’s the thing, too, is like everybody’s saying that people haven’t given up on Aaron Glenn. Who knows what he’s going to do the rest of the year, but people people they they fought that whole game, man. It just shows that, you know, the team is still fighting. So, that’s that’s what I have pride in for right now. At least if if anything, if if they give up, then it’s like, what’s the point, right? It’s like this coaching staff can’t even uh have their have their team bought in. But we’re still bought in, man. And listen, it’s just it all depends on what we do in these last what eight games. We got to really just show show what this coaching staff has. I I think they got to show us a lot more. Uh obviously when it comes to, you know, when it comes to what they did on Sunday, winning one for Nick was was great. And you know, the O line playing great was awesome as a nice little tribute to Mangle. But we got to see a lot more. The Bengals defense is one of the worst in the league. They’re allowing 31 points per game. I’ll see I’ll give credit to the Jets though because the Cowboys defense stinks too and they did nothing against him. Miami’s defense was bad. They did nothing against So, you know, let’s see. Let’s see them go out there and win some more games. That’s the thing that frustrates me, man, because we could have really won. Like, we could really have four wins right now. We should have beat the Steelers. We should have beat the the Panthers. We should have beat Denver. And Denver actually has a good defense. We should have beat those teams. And you’re you’re right, man, cuz this isn’t really like this is kind of like fool’s gold. Bengals have one of the worst defenses, but can Justin Fields go out there and do this against one of the one of the better defenses? Cleveland has a good defense. Yeah. I mean, to to be determined. I I if you told me the Jets immediately regress back to what they’ve been, I can’t sit here and say I’d be shocked. I mean, that’s just put the the win’s nice. We get to enjoy it for an extra week because of the buy, but this team has been horrific until Sunday. So, let’s see. Yeah, we can’t just have one win. That’s I agree with you on that. need need way more than one to feel better about this regime. Yeah, but I do have a way. I say four just give us four wins, five wins, you know? I don’t even care about messing up our draft status. We have to see something here. Like I think you’re right. This one win isn’t enough. It is It’s a feel-good moment, but it’s like this we need way more. Yeah. I mean, it’s it’s nice to win, but let’s I mean, let’s let’s be real. It doesn’t it doesn’t do it mean anything if they follow it up with a horrific performance against the Browns, you know, when they play on the ninth. It it means nothing. I don’t want this rookie to like light us up because then it’s Yeah, you’re right. It’s going to make us look dumb again. Yeah. I’ll tell you what though, they did win, which means we get to play fun videos like this. That’s the benefit of winning. Because when you don’t win, everyone’s miserable. And it’s amazing how one and seven could just bring some semblance of positivity to the fan base. The power of friendship did it for us. I hug him every day. I hug him every day. So, we have that. Woody Johnson, master motivator. Put this in Field’s locker. And then Justin Field said, “Oh yeah, Woody, watch this.” Hell yeah. All right, last chance to get in our Nick Mangled jersey raffle. I am currently counting all the entries. However, in the meantime, while we count the entries, let’s give you guys a little blast from the past. a laugh if you will because we all have earned a laugh. Again, this video will play. F robbed. I hate this jets team. We have no quarterbacks for 30 years. We dont need no wr 😂
Dude gets to go to the Eagles, Why does he get rewarded?
What are your thoughts on the Jets trading MC2?
All this guy do when he is on is laugh at this team and never has anything positive to say hope he aint a jets fans
I know the Patriots are 6-2 but theyre not a juggernaut..why cant the Jets at least be competitive in that game against a division rival at that!? I want to see the Jets beat the Patriots at least one time this year.
Carter was always hurt. Good trade we got a wr and a pick …these pathetic jet fans always over value players this was a win
MCII to a winner
You all realize that our two best offensive performances were against 2 horrific defensive teams. Franchising a rb on a rebuilding team is beyond stupid.
I have a bad feeling about this Trade smh Carter was 1 of the best slot corners for 2-3 years and it’s obvious they aren’t using our best players the right way he took 5 million dollar pay cut to not play for us
CAN WE PLEASE TRADE CLEMONS!
