Raheem was never the correct choice.

McKay and Blank went with their buddy instead of a proper HC that could lead this team into the future.

  1. Didn’t everyone want Belichick who is 2-5 in college football?

And who lead his team to fuck all success after Brady left for Tampa Bay?

I’m not defending the Raheem hire but who of these 4 actually would’ve came? No way Harbaugh was

  2. I gotta say for as much good as Arthur Blank does off the field it is vastly overshadowed by his choices for the Falcons Front Office and Coaching Staff. At this point I don’t care how good of a man Blank is, I want my team I have rooted for since I was a child to not embarrass me for being a fan of them.

  3. Ben Johnson literally withdrew his name from any new job, Harbaugh was never coming here, Vrabel was literally talked about as going to New England in ‘25 if Mayo failed ( he did) Mike McDonald is a “maybe?”

  4. While this is true, there’s a strong possibility they interviewed but Atlanta was not their top choice.

There seems to be a common denominator in Atlanta and it starts with Rich and ends with McKay.

  5. And they all chose other teams before us. Everyone knew Harbaugh wanted back on the west coast with an established QB. Vrabel always wanted to coach the Pats and waited for that opportunity to open up. Ben Johnson took his name out of the race for all HC positions that offseason.

Mike MacDonald is the only real name we could’ve potentially had, and he’s still got a ton to prove.

  6. Just pure speculation, but at this point I believe Raheem was only hired because nobody else wanted to coach this team. Raheem was probably the only one who showed up to the interview with a smile on his face ready to work and it got him the job.

  7. Only name on that list is McDonald, and that’s I bet he still chooses them over us. Stop trying to rewrite history.

  8. It was all a show. They knew from the git go Raheem was their guy. He was here before, he kisses ass well and hes cheaper and is willing to have less control over the team than the other coaches “interviewed.” Rick McKay cant have that and Arthur Blank is just not a football guy. He loves the team and his players but hes not a cut throat guy.

  9. These posts are exhausting. People need to realize not everyone is lining up for this job.

  10. 2 of those weren’t real options so idk, either way we got raheem at home so get ready for dinner

  11. Easy fix, soon as Morris is out , starting salary 15 million , and structure bonuses off of offense , defense, wins, playoffs , etc. Come to Atlanta and win , we will make you the highest paid coach in the nfl!

  12. i fucking love these hindsight posts. they’re so good and useful. who tf was excited for Mike Vrabel to coach the Falcons? the conversation was exclusively around Belichick, who is mysteriously omitted from this list.

  13. If they’ve proven one thing, it’s that they don’t know how to hire a coach, or retain the right coaches on staff already.

  14. I think Mike Macdonald and Mike Vrabel would have come here, but Ben Johnson and Jim Harbaugh def wouldn’t have. Johnson removed his name from coaching jobs and the Chargers have Justin Herbert lol.

  15. Nah they interviewed us… I don’t think people realize no one wanted this job. We’re a shitty org known for doing our only players that made us relevant dirty. 0 loyalty or respect. Those people interviewed just to drive offers up at the jobs they already knew they were going to take lol. Pretty sure we were like 2nd to last to sign a HC last off season with bill and Raheem being like the only options

  16. Doesn’t matter who they interviewed, what’s matters is who actually WANTED to come here. I strongly believe Raheem was the only candidate that actually wanted the job.

  17. Let’s be so fr y’all , any Coach that comes into Atlanta becomes the scape goat and everyone shits on them, y’all expect a new coach to come in and immediately make the team a contender but the moment things go sideways yall call for his head.

  18. I want Morris to get one more year. This is a young, inconsistent team, and everyone can continue to improve – including the HC.

    I can be patient.

  19. Still don’t think vrabel or Ben were the right guys even with hindsight. But missing on Jim or Mike Macdonald has me wondering what if.

  20. How did we pass on vrabel? After what he did with the titans… how did you not sign him? He consistently gets the most out of players.

  21. Not a Heem truther, but come the fuck on. Just pulling shut from the ass at this point. Why wasn’t this graphic made when we were 6-3 last year?
