Lightning Beat The Preds 5-2 as D’Astous Scores First Goal

On today’s Daily Strike, the Lightning win their third straight game. This one 5 to2 over the Predators. This is the latest news and notes on the Tampa Bay Lightning for Wednesday, October 29th, 2025. I’m Steve Ursnik. The Lightning were in Nashville for a quick oneame road trip. They got the scoring started early. Jurgensson cycles to Gourd behind it at home. Holberg put it in front. Score. Gorgensson’s. A dominant shift by the Lightning. And Zamis Gergensson’s has made it one- nothing Lightning with 929 left in the first for Gurgensson’s. It’s his first goal of the season in his third game after missing time with an upper body injury. The Bolts would lead one- nothing after one late in the second. Here’s Celli right circle James shoot. Save made by Soros. Rebound is loose. Score finally Hegel. The Lightning threw everything at Soros. He was miraculously keeping the puck out for Hegel. It’s his second goal of the season and second in as many games. Anthony Cerelli had the assist on the goal for his 300th career point. He is the 13th Lightning player to reach that mark. The Lightning led two nothing going to the third and Nashville would score an early power play goal, but the Bolts would answer back three minutes later. Charlie Lord Stew behind the lightning net wraps it around the farboards. Coo drop turns it for Braden Point. Threeon two. Braden point at the right wing at center across the line to Stew. High slot holds fire. Du the first NHL goal for Charlie Edward Du. He makes it 3-1 Lightning for Charlie Edward Dw. It’s his first career goal in his third game. It would turn out to be the game winner. Nashville would pull the goalie down 3-1. They scored with 206 remaining to make it a one-goal game. Then they pulled the goalie again. Wood right circle forsburg. A pass blocked by Hegel grabbing it to Celli off the near glass. It’s out of the zone. Hegel has a man up ice. It’s Kudov. Karov is skating toward the open net. Look at a knife in front. He is checked. Score the rebound. Gergensson’s. That would make it a final five to two. Zus Gurgensson’s talked about his two goal game. Yeah, definitely feels nice. Uh in the second one too, homie kind of kind of put it on my platter, so it was was pretty easy. But yes, it’s definitely anytime that happens, it’s easier to play. Your your mind’s free. So, moving forward, it’s going to be easier to play. For DTU, it’s been a great first week in the NHL. The last week has been pretty nice for me. Uh since I’ve been here, uh yeah, just trying to help the team uh to win and uh I know I have like good poise offensively, good good uh I can bring some offense and it’s nice to be rewarded with a goal. Prior to Tuesday’s game, the Lightning recalled forward Scott Sabin from the Syracuse Crunch. Tuesday night’s game would serve as his fourth and final game of his four-game suspension that occurred in the final preseason game against the Panthers. In addition, the team assigned forward Mitchell Chaffy to the crunch after he cleared waiverss. Chaffy skated in seven games with the Lightning this season, recording eight shots on goal and four penalty minutes. The Lightning have the day off today.
