[SNLA] “They didn’t really get to me… Luck plays in baseball.” Blake Snell says he got unlucky after allowing five earned runs in Game 5 of the World Series

  1. They both swung on the first pitch, you threw them meatballs

Edit: Vlad was second pitch, but still

  2. I’m not a Snell hater but at face value this makes him look like such a clown lmao

  3. The Varsho triple maybe could have been kept to a single but that’s about it.

Is this Snell’s way of blaming his team’s defense and bullpen?

  4. The way I see it, after the first 3 pitches he pitched decently well, then they brought him out in the 7th when his pitch count was already over 100 and he got shelled.

I mean it wasn’t the best performance, especially with the 2 WP, but it wasn’t as bad as the boxscore looks, IMO

  5. First pitch: dong

    Second pitch: strike

    Third pitch: dong

I’m pretty sure they got to you, man.

  6. If they didn’t get to you Blake, I’d really hate to see the box score when they do.

  7. Game 1: I’ll learn from this for my next start.
Game 2: I’ve learned that they got lucky.

  8. I trust Snell because he has that thin goatee. A man with that facial hair style would not lie to you.

  9. He didn’t pitch 5 ER in 6.2 innings bad, and maybe you could argue the Jays got some BABIP luck, but he also walked four in 6.2 innings

Its not like he went out there and was lights out but got burned by a few bloop singles

  10. Blake Snell: Gives up two moonshots on absolute meatballs.

Also Snell: “Twas but the wind.”

  11. If you think about all of the billions of people who have been born, and the billions more who will be born in the future, yeah, he was pretty unlucky to be pitching against the 2025 Toronto Blue Jays.

  12. Jays fan here. Snell pitched fine against a potent offense. The Dodgers gave him no run support and bullpen couldn’t shut the door.

  13. This is just Snell trying not to throw teammates under the bus. Hernandez on the triple… Henriquez on walking in a run and giving up an RBI single (both those runs score were his ER)
