NHL Highlights | Islanders vs. Hurricanes | October 30, 2025

Taylor Hall with the starting lineup read
and he read the big line of Sebastian Aaho Nikolai Eers who hasn’t scored yet. Sini with
the Hurricanes this summer and of course Seth Jarvis. He takes the hit. Makes a nice pass
to Holstrom. Clean break out to Pacou. Here comes Pacio. Backhand saved by Busy out in the
slot. And now the other way come the Hurricanes. Faceoff won by the Canades. Fourth line out
there. Cook the Janowski and Bradley Nado. The 20-year-old prospect. Got score.
And there it is. Bradley Nado’s first career NHL goal gives the Hurricanes a
one- nothing lead. They keep it simple. So that puck ultimately gets back instead
of a shot on net with a potential block. What happens is just get it in deep and then
it’s one of those turnovers we’ve talked about. Sweet little play shot save Rick team struggling on the power play. The
Hurricanes are worst in the league. Shot save Riley Robert scores. Mike Riley
first of the year and the former Islander gives the Hurricanes a short-handed
goal by a defenseman. Communicates, but part of it is also their anticipation. Mike
Riley jumps into the play in the neutral zone. He takes that shot that’s fought off a little bit
by David Rick. Rick takes a ch a second to figure out where that rebound goes. And that second that
he’s looking for it, he’s not able to push right to left from post to post and cover up. You also
look at cyclical Jonathan Dru from Quebec asked if they all speak French and he had us go and he
said no never and said yes actually all the time. Here’s Fesnikov score. Jordan Martinook Renick
made the save. He couldn’t find the puck. It had dropped behind him. Everybody kind of froze.
Martin Hook found it and just tap tap tabbed it in to make it three nothing Kane first the
other the other night two nights ago against Vegas on a breakaway he does a good job boxing
out Martinook tracks the puck the whole way Pel he rolls off the Pel is often very good in front
of the net he just loses sight of Martinook he’s a big body and here it is too he had his first
point for the Carolina Hurricanes this season the other night and Ariel get an assist his second
squeeze the wicket. He just wasn’t quite able to prevent it from trickling behind him. Turnover.
Isles need one. Shot. Saved by Busy. Here comes Holstrom. Side steps. Pajio’s open off the post.
Defenseman back. And so now they get to come in. You’ve got Holstrom, you got Lee, and then Pacio’s
out of your screen right now. But Lee does a good job finding him. Threads the needle. And how
about that one right here shooting more than he ever has in his career. Schaefer in the bumper
shot in front. It’s loose. Horvass swipes at it. Close on top of the goalender. It’s so hard
to elevate the puck. You have no space. The watch number 29. He gets in tight and he’s getting
jostled from all sides. You see all four penalty killers in tight protecting Busy. It’s again
why they have year in year out why Carolina has such a strong penalty kill. Full commitment
from everybody including their goalender again. The Islanders 0 for 14 now. Jordan Martin with a
great job just to push over the blue line. Get the puck out of the zone. Good move by Druan on the
zone entry. Fends off Walker. Schaefer still out there. Shot. Score. Deflected in front. And the
Islanders are back in this thing. It’s three to one after the power play goal. for now. Schaefer
is the first to the bench them on the board and this is what they need. We talk about his
poise up there. He’s a great puck distributor, but you can see here he’s just gets the
puck on net. That’s what they got to do. Put pucks in. Not even a lot of traffic.
Busy does a He’s got so many great shots there. There’s a little bit of traffic out
there, but I think he’s going to want that one back. And that puck went straight in. Very,
very young player. Turnover shot saved by Busy. Here come the Islanders again. The puck is
loose. Trying to burrow for it is Suzikas. Hit hard. Pass in front. Shot. Saved by Busy. Specnikov sends it across nicely to Eers. Ripped
it to the net. Save. It’s loose. Rebound. Shot. Ao can’t finish. Spechchnikov has it. Riddick
got to get back up on his feet now. So here’s the zone entry. They lose it. They come all the
way down. Quick passing and then that seam all the way across to Nicki Eers. You mentioned
it. No goals as a Kane. But then look at Specov save. Rick between the legs. Save
by Riddick as Jarvis fanned on the shot. Can’t pull the trigger. And then how
about this one with Seth Jarvis just just double clutches right there.
And he is Oh, he’s ready to pounce. Joanne throws it around the net. Wraparound shot
save by Busy on Heinman. Brandon Busy. Another big save with the right pad. Schaefer shot into
the glove on Busy. And then he gets on his horse, shows his skill to get going the other
way. Mil Heinman, he’s been a beast for the Islanders this year early. Stick handle a
golf ball in the hallway all night long. Just one of those self-improvers who just loves to
try to get better. Eers Raman off. Look out. Jarvis has it in front. Saved by Riddick.
Man, there’s a lot going on. You know, that stuff gets a little bit scary. And then it
leads to this chance. Jarvis again all over the net front just driving pucks to the net.
Just defensively so solid and they’ve had to I mean takes a village to fill in what
that guy does. Hall has it. Here come the Hurricanes again. Beautiful move around
Schaefer by Hall. Drop pass Blake score. It may come in Jackson Blake right there as the
eventual goal scorer. But how about that move by Taylor Hall with the cut inside and the awareness
to drop it back when he sees it. He’s got Sanovven driving the net with him. The Islanders have to
respect those two guys and it’s Jackson Blake who’s all alone and back. Here’s a shot by Eers
to look for that first goal as a Kane. Chhatfield. Good keep in slowly getting up is Jarvis. He’s
lippy but he’s in front. Then he gets knocked down again by Mayfield. Mayfield covering him
in front and excuse me. Sorry, that’s Romanov there initially and he goes down hard. Wincing
trying to get back up and then he recognized, oh well the puck’s coming back. Let’s see. And
then it’s Well, we tal I we talked to players right whose sons play in the NHL. Do you feel kind
of that way watching Ryan uh be a Lionsman here in the NHL? score in front to Holmstrom to make
it four to two. Hold that thought for a second, Jackson. We got a game again with 912 to go.
D’Angelo the beautiful pass to Simon Holmstrom, his third of the year, and it’s four to
two. Holstrom with a beautiful finish, but it’s D’Angelo threads the needle. They’ve
been trying to do that a couple times. A lot of their passes have been blocked by the Carolina
Hurricanes. And Bolstrom’s one of those players. He started on the fourth line. He went 0 for 0
for in his first couple games and they bumped him up to the third line and suddenly he’s
starting to score. He’s getting more time on ice. Great finish by him. Good patience
driving the net and when you get a perfect pass like that, it’s good for him to finish
it. Spikoff around Schaefer and he scores. 11 seconds after Simon Holster made it four
to two. Andrevestnikov gives the Canes their threegoal lead right back. What a move by if this
is what he gets in return. And Andreetchnikov third point of the season, second goal. And he
drives in. Watch him drop that left leg which allows him to get inside. Schaffer pushes it off
with that left arm and just grooves it. Beautiful finish by right now. Rod Bindor is looking like
good pass by Fetchnikoff. Chatfield in front redirected by Martin. Great save by Riddick. Rips
it high and wide. And here comes Oh, he’s got a man in front in alone. Stinkhovven. Glove save by
Riddick. Hit the tip of his glove. Brandon Busy. 15 seconds to go. Twoon one.
Eers across. Score. Stay coven. Stayovven’s fourth of the year. A beautiful pass
shoulder. But then how about this? Nikolai Eer still looking for his first goal as a Carolina
Hurricane. But a beautiful assist. A beautiful play there by Scanov. And it looked like he
sold the pass. came back and he was able to elevate that one. Rob Ramage, number one oval,
draft pick in 79, eight teams. Way to go, Ivan.
