🚨GEORGE PATON DID IT AGAIN! The Denver Broncos Continue To Rob The NFL…

The Denver Broncos are robbing the NFL blind with two players, two contracts, and I can’t wait to talk about both of them in this episode of the Broncos Breakdown. Welcome in Broncos country to the Broncos Breakdown by Chat Sports. My name is Moose. We’re going to talk about Nick Bonito and JK Dobbins in this episode and why both of them and the seasons that they’re having are proving that George Payton is the ultimate mastermind at GM in the NFL. Let’s talk about Bonito first. I think most of the reason that this episode comes up is because of the recent NFL news that we just got. The highest paid pass rushers in the NFL now look like this. Micah Parsons, Aiden Hutchinson, TJ Watt, Miles Garrett, Denil Hunter, and Max Crosby. Okay, cool. Aiden Hutchinson gets the bag. Very talented player. There’s no doubt. However, I would much rather have my edge rusher duo of Jonathan Cooper and Nick Bonito that is costing me at most $40 million combined than paying one of those guys 45 million. And this is exactly why you need to hit that thumbs up icon. George Payton is a genius cultivating an unbelievable partnership atmosphere, brotherhood, and just overall franchise feel for the Denver Broncos. If you think he’s doing the right things, do me a favor, smash that thumbs up icon. Back to Bonito for a second. He’s had a quiet couple of games, but you kind of feel like they’re holding him a lot more now. and the refs just aren’t calling it. And he’s starting to get doubled a little bit more. I think everybody in the NFL is now seeing what the talent that this guy is. He truly is, in my opinion, a top five edge rusher in the NFL. But I don’t want to just, you know, say that because it’s my opinion. I want the stats to back that up as well. the NFL sack leaders in 2025 so far. Miles Garrett just skyrocketed after he had five against the New England Patriots. That is insane. 10 sacks for him. Brian Burns is having a great year. There’s no doubt. Same with Byron Young, who now plays for the Rams, not the Eagles. Uh but Nick Bonito is in fourth right now at eight. And Rashan Garry of the Green Bay Packers right behind him at 7 and a half. But here’s the more impressive reason and why I say that the Broncos are getting away with highway robbery. Take a look at the highest paid edges per year. And this is not updated uh quite yet, by the way, because Aiden Hutchinson is at number two. But Nick Bonito is now number 11 on this list. Number 11. He’s not even Well, he is on the screen, but he is not supposed to be on the screen. So Nick Bonito is now the 11th highest paid edge in the year and is top five in sacks. This is just perfect business. Bonito being outside of the top 10 is literally insane to think about in a positive way. In a positive way. And it says a lot about Nick Bonito as a guy. He understands that I don’t need to make the most in order to help my team win. He got what he deserved rightly so. I believe he is worth over a hundred million dollars a year. There’s no doubt about it. But the fact that he could have gone out and gotten more, but Neato could have gotten $30 million plus per year and he chose not to because he wants to win the big one. He wants to win the Super Bowl. So, let’s continue on and talk a little bit more about just where his stats line up with the rest of the NFL. pressure rate leaders amongst players with 100 pass rush snaps this season. Nick Padito number two in the NFL at 20.2%. Will Anderson by the way who you go up against this Sunday again in the Houston Texans. He’s also an unbelievable talent and he’s probably the next big one to get paid. But now let’s go to the most pressure. So not pressure rate but just most pressures in general. Micah Parsons leads that category. But look at who’s number two again. Nick Bonito. And there’s Aiden Hutchinson who makes his way onto the list. So, you mean to tell me that a guy who’s outside of the top 10 edge rushers in terms of salary is number four in sacks, number two in pressure rate, and number two in pressures. Sounds like highway robbery to me. And where does he rank in defensive player of the year stats? This chart kind of highlights where the trends are going. For some reason, Micah Parsons, I think because he’s a bigger name, is in the highest regard right now for defensive player of the year. You would have known Miles Garrett would have shot that number up after his five sack performance. Aiden Hutchinson also deserves credit, but Nick Bonito should absolutely be within the top four, and he is right now at 15%. He needs a couple more big games. He needs like this game against the Houston Texans and that offensive line, he needs like two and a half sacks. He’s got to get back up into the higher standings if he really wants to win defensive player of the year. Back to back. By the way, Pat Certan, Nick Bonito, food for thought. Will Nick Bonito win defensive player of the year? Give me a yes or give me a no down in the comment section. If you’re watching during our live show, spam it right now in the live chat. It’s going to be some good stuff because JK Dobbins is doing even more with less. I’ll explain all of that coming up here in just a little bit. Okay, JK, but not just kidding. JK Dobbins, Broncos RB1. He’s been excellent this year. And not just excellent based off of the numbers alone. We’ll talk about that here in just a little bit. But for the contract, the price that you’re paying JK Dobbins, this is a ridiculous amount of productivity. Talk about your high ceiling. Boom. Signing. You’re only paying JK Dobbins $1.3 million this season. That’s like at the very bottom of the NFL in dollars per year for a running back. This is like something that you would pay a lower end to and you got him for 1.3 million and he’s absolutely crushing it. Giving you performances like he did against the Dallas Cowboys. 15 carries, 111 rushing yards, 7.4 a carry with a long of 25. Again, perfect business from George Payton. No doubt about it. No doubt about it. And by the way, how does he stack up against the rest of the NFL in rushing yards? He’s number three. JT, who’s having probably an MVP style year. There’s no doubt about it. James Cook coming in at number two. And then JK Dobbins is number three. Fun fact, three and four. Current Bronco, former Bronco. And then Rico Dowel at 605 rounding out the top five. I can’t believe that this is a real stat because Javvante Williams is having such a great season. But did you know that JK Dobbins already has more rushing yards through the first eight weeks than Javvante had all of last year? We’re not even halfway through the season yet. That’ll be at halftime of this upcoming game against the Texans. It’s wicked. It is so unbelievably crazy to me that JK Dobbins is having as good of a season as he is. But we all knew he was a great talent. It was always the injuries that kept him sidelined. His 2025 projections. This is what he’s projected to have at the end of the year. 1,300 rushing yards, nine rushing touchdowns, averaging 5.3 a carry, and 1415 total yards from scrimmage. Those are Pro Bowl numbers. Those are Pro Bowl level numbers. By the way, Bejian Robinson, who many consider widely to be the most talented back in the NFL, only had 1,400 rushing yards last year only. I say that it’s kind of tongue and cheek, but that just shows you how well JK Dobbins is playing. Now, we can’t forget his running mate, right? This is not just the JK Dobbins show. It’s a lot of things have contributed to this Broncos running game. RJ Harvey has been another reason for that. He got rookie of the week this last week. Clap it up for him. He was excellent. Best game as a professional for him by far of the 2025 season. But I think the one looming question on every Denver Broncos fan’s mind is it time to extend JK Dobbins. Duh. Of course it is. Now, here’s what I will say. He’s going to command a much higher salary. There’s no doubt about it. However, with the Russell Wilson contract, more of that money gets pushed off the books. You’re in prime condition right now to have a top 10 calorie spa uh salary cap for the 2026 season. So, it shouldn’t be an issue to go out and sign a player like JK Dobbins to a multi-year extension. Now, I would be hesitant to give him a 4-year extension, but in a heartbeat, I’m doing a two or threeear deal. most likely to most likely to I would give him a 2-year $25 million extension. That’s $12.5 million a year. Essentially what James Cook is getting paid, but I would do it for less. I give him a bunch of guaranteed money. That’s just off the top of the dome right now. I’d have to go back and rework the numbers just to make sure that all of that lines up. But right now, from what I’m thinking, that would be my contract extension. How much would you pay JK Dobbins per year? I’m going with that $12.5 million per year right now. Granted, he’s got to stay healthy. You know, this is all dependent on, knock on wood, how he performs for the rest of the year, but so far it’s been absolutely exceptional. Make sure you get down in the comments section down below and let me know. That’s going to do it for us on today’s episode. 1. I ADORE J.K., but if were me, I'd wait a little while longer this year to see if he holds up. If he's past his injury history? All bets are off. Dude is a Bronco if I ever saw one.

  2. No shade against anyone getting that bag, but if I had that talent, I would lower my salary to ensure the team had cap space to remain competitive. I'm too competitive in everything I do.

  3. If J.K. stays healthy no way we shouldn’t sign him long term dude is a baller and is the perfect Bronco reminds me of T.D. some and that’s saying something, just would like to see some Mile High Salutes and then he’d be complete šŸ˜

  4. Man you don’t sign no old running back to anything more than 2 years. He’s like Jeff Green for the nuggets. Essential to Nuggets chip. Every superbowl team has a few old vets that contribute on a 1 2 year deal cuz they’re old. Bonito ain’t worth no damn $100 mil man we be cappin! PS2 is worth whatever. I think Vance has a lot to do with the rest of the D. No Vance no dominance
