NHL Highlights | Penguins vs. Wild – October 30, 2025

Bill trying to top and best them in Pittsnet. Tristan Jarry really struggled most all of last year. Sub 900 save percentage, but this year he’s been great. 4 in one, 916. One of the games better puck moving defenseman over the last decade, but makes an errant pass to Sydney Crosby. Then they have him in their own zone. And Estrosa put it toward the net. Jarry down and it was shoved just wide by Felo. left on the wild bench about getting off to a better start. That has not been the trend on this home stand. This is game four of the home stand as Terra Senko gets a good look early unable to hold. England’s move into the offensive zone with Novak dropped it back to Dumbo for a shot that was deflected and Gustiffson makes the save. Let’s see if that better start third can translate to a lead. So the Wild desperate for better starts. Their shooting percentage five on five dead last in the NHL just 6.2%. Rossi tried to nudge this one out of the zone. Gustoson has to kick one aside. Owen Pickering ties him in the corner. Now Brodin on it for Minnesota. Johansson tips it out for Faber. Favor a shot. Jarry a save and the rebound deflected off of Cabrio. It’s not been easy for Jarry. makes its way to Favor and he does a good job collecting this off the paint or off the dasher. There’s that rebound off the pad of Jarry. Then the skate Carlson pressured by Terasenko. Favor holds threw it toward the net. Baldi dropped it back. Erikson a shot and a glove save by Jarry. The fortech has looked like a carryover from what we saw in the third period against San Jose and then all night against Winnipeg. here. A dangerous rebound allowed with a rebound. This is like a fake dump and he just gets past Urich. I think Urech thought it was behind the net. Let people barreling down on him too. Here’s Felo. Hands it off to Middleton for a drive and a save by Jarry. A real bright spot for this club. Capriov at center ice. Rossi to Johansson. Johansson centers. Capriov scores. scores. What a pass. And Capriov has Minnesota in front instantly on on how to play with different players. Good two and 10 there. Then he takes the puck from the neutral zone and he just goes to that back post. Kind of puts the head down understanding, hey Johansson, this guy can fly and he’s a good pass first guy. I’m going to go to the net. And Capri off he gets Latang turned but a strong bottom hand drives in and this one just hits the tape but again it’s the angle and this this is a lot harder play than it looks to have the strength to turn that bottom hand over. Not Malin puts on the brakes cut off by Spurgeon. Gives it back to Shay moving in. Sheay circles back hands one out front. Malin wheels and fires and it’s waved off. It’s waved off immediately. Let’s get the call from Garrett R. After coach’s challenge video review, the call on the ice is confirmed. There was goender interference. No goal. Pittsburgh is assessed. A minor penalty for delay game. Knocked away. Wild look for a quick regroup and they’ll get it with Terasenko. Back over the line across for Capriov. Baldi centers. Ericson denied by Jarry. the defense of Pittsburgh to make plays before they’re ready. West did a good job on the intermission talking about how strong the gap was from and the wild defense, but a solid period up and down. Johansson will draw against Malin. Wild control. Spurgeon a shot. Tip rebound and another save by Jar. Faceoff win from Johansson. Spurgeon gets this to the net. Capri off on the backside. One, two, chops at it. And watch Rossi as he comes skating through the paint. He’s going to get a little chop from Jarry. Spurgeon tips it in. Jarry out to play it. You can add 2930 to the rebound chances. Capri fires off the post. Wild continue to lead the league in that department. Johansson tries to fight through a check. got it to the line, but Latang holds. Novak tries to wrap it in from behind. Gustiffson got to the post. Shay a drive and he scores. Wild get mixed up in their own zone. Novak made the play from behind the net. And it’s Shay with a drive from the blue line that beats Gustiffson and puts Pittsburgh on the board. It’s 1-1 on this puck around the crease. He tries the short side jam then recollects this and we’ll see if Koan gets out of the the way in time but he might. Boy, the Wild might be looking at this one because Koanin he goes into the net. Watch him using that front now gets stripped. Hauled in by Hartman. I think he tries to get out but he’s not cleared by the time that puck ends up in the back of the net. I’m sure the only reason the Wild did not challenge was because it was Hartman that Johansson fights off a check. Rossy up high. His stick broke as he tried to play it to the slot. And the Penguins coming the other way have a chance. Go back in. His shot knocked away by Gustinson. Malin lays it across. Brazil run over by Middleton. Yeah, I like the play from Middleton here. He likes to use the phrase kill plays. Brazo tries big guy too. Stands up. He just eliminates him there. Penguins very aggressive along the boards on this kill. Yeah, and watch Capri off. He’s just hiding over there. That happened on a chance earlier. This puck deflects right across for Der. Shorthanded and a save by Gustiffson. So, watch the stick of favor. Der was unhappy. It’s rolling on him, but right there, the last second slash. I mean, I think this is a good null call, but Der felt that right there. Der wants a penalty. He felt he was slashed right as he’s releas releasing that puck. William to Rossi down the slot. A shot saved Jarry and Johansson was tied up with a rebound. Rossi now watch Johansson the glove right at the last second there. It’s out to center ice where it’s scooped up by Trenan. Johansson trying to join the play. Trenan drives the net and he shot it wide. Jarry deflected it. Jarry then Tren with a power move. Boy, he just sends Weatherspoon flying. They were kind of hemmed in their own zone trying to make plays and controlled exits. They said, “You know what? Let’s just send speed and flip it up.” Made a difference. But this final 20 for me is all about leadership when it comes to the guys in Carlson plays to the corner. Novak. Kindle. Back for Novak. A shot save. Gustiffson. [Music] Latang laid it across and they score. Rust on the back door with the tip in. Shay who had the earlier goal for Pittsburgh with the setup and the Penguins have taken the lead for the first time tonight. His back end against Crosby. He has leverage loses this one to the wall. Crosby, give him credit. He’s so good at those and he knows he takes his own route. But they’ve got the play set up and Rust able to get to the back door. Broaddin can’t cover the stick and just an absolutely perfect pass. Wild have been short-handed just seven times in five games coming into tonight. Their penalty killed dead last in the NHL. Crosby across Malin on the rebound. Slid it right behind Gustin. And on the rebound they score. It takes him only 13 seconds. So it indicates he’s here or at least he’s using a whole year of his contract to be here. What does he do? He pops one. Power play goal out there with Sydney Crosby of Genny Melin. And there he is in the slot doing the hard work finding a bouncing puck and he tips it up over the pad of Philip Gustoson. Gustin makes a save on a deflected puck. Eurovv slammed into the wall by Crosby. Wild misfire on another pass getting him out of the zone. A centering pass and a sprawling save by Gustiffson. Stop it. Watch his pickup. Crosby coming bottom of your screen. Picks up. Could have been back in the net. No, but Gustin on the edge able to stop. Dive back the other direction. I mean, if I’m Gusen, I sell out on that backhand thing. And Crosby’s going short side high almost every time. But to be able to cut back, go the other direction. Empty net for Minnesota. Almost three minutes to go. Buham to Capri off. Capri off fires. It’s tipped. Intercepted. And the shot at the empty net will make it 41 Penguins. [Applause] He’s everywhere. Then Capria comes over the top and Mantha just knocks this puck down. Watch this play by Mantha. Dates his check. Confidence. He’s going to knock that down. Has to feel their season hanging in the balance. They needed a win today for a lot of reasons. They liked the game coming their game for the four previous periods coming into this matchup. They liked their first period. [Music]

Ryan Shea scored the first of four unanswered goals for the Pittsburgh Penguins while Bryan Rust added a goal and an assist as well to help beat the Minnesota Wild 4-1.

  1. As a lifelong Caps fan, I am surprised and elated that Marcus Johansson has kept his career going for so many years. Didn't think he would come back from that terrible concussion from Marchand when he played in NJ but really glad he's still got pop in his step.

  2. Really underestimated Shea this year for the pens, and wotherspoon. Great pairings for offensive players in Letang and Karl. Keep it rollin Pens!

  3. Какую же ошибку КК совершил, продавшись Минникам: теперь максимально впахивать за мертвую команду, ловить тонну хейта за любой косяк и в итоге уехать на пенсию без кубка и кучей травм(((

  4. The Pens disallowed goal was one of the worst goaltender interference calls I've ever seen. It could be argued that the first Pens goal was more interference than that. Two diallowed goals for Malkin in two games.

  5. Here’s my take. I am from Russia so don’t get me wrong I am pumped to have several Russian players on the team. However something has shifted since I was a young girl who loved watching the MN Wild. It seems now that there’s one favorite, one Golden Boy, that people focus on instead of giving credit to several of the good players. I feel that Kaprizov is great but he’s not the team what makes the team great is supporting & cheering for everyone & not making one player a marketing strategy. The other players such as Boldy & Faber deserve recognition too & if we don’t cheer all players on we will fail miserably this year as we are already. This is not a one person team, this is an entire team. The players are not only salty that one person got millions but also probably down on themselves given he’s the only one that’s really being cheered on/ highlighted. Yes most players are getting paid more than us but it’s hard work playing/ practice all the time plus traveling. It takes a toll on players so let’s cheer everyone on, not just one individual player. If we want to win as a team we need to support our team. Just my opinion thanks
