Kevin Patullo confirms shift in Jalen Hurt’s game that’s changing Eagles offense

But I was told this man who only cares about winning refuses to go under center or run play action because he doesn’t like it.
So we have:
– Under center sets (many heavy) to make the defense put more on the line and come downhill
– Use some slightly different, but easier to execute run blocking schemes
– Under center play action to keep the defense from knowing exactly what we are going to do
What do you know, success! I think a lot of people have been asking for this. It’s not eve anything that wild or crazy in terms of scheme. It’s just not so predictable that the defense is literally sprinting right into our play. Amazing what it does when the defense doesn’t know exactly what we will do.
Let’s see it in 2 weeks.
I find it strange that being under center is some kind of strategic revelation. Wasn’t it the dominant alignment throughout the history of football?
If this is the difference of being incredible, then do it
I’ll never understand how it took Patullo so long to add these things or any variety to the offense and really hope he doesn’t revert back
Hurts hasn’t had a shift… he’s played under center at OU.. these coaches just haven’t let him ball freely.
