There is not a more consistently toxic discussion than an MVP race in the NFL. Every year it gets fans to dog on their own team. “Well my guy is doing it and his WR’s suck, his OLine is significantly worse, our coaches are horrible, he gets to lean on a great RB meanwhile our guy sucks”
It’s just not fun to engage in and frankly the award has no easily definable guidelines to break ties so it just turns into a narrative award or who hasn’t gotten one yet
