NHL Highlights | Devils vs. Sharks – October 30, 2025
We’re set to go. Second game in a week and this is the last time these two teams will meet. 55th alltime meeting between the Sharks and the New Jersey Devil. Sharks lost 3-1 in New Jersey last week. That throws it into the Shark zone. Looking for Nico Heir. He had two assists in that game. Coming on the power play. Here’s a break now for the Sharks. They get a chance here and score. William England on the breakaway and the Sharks have the first goal of the game. [Music] Five games now. The play is along the boards against Muff at the blue line. William Eckler is gone. He’s not even close. Cuts in first five hole. It’s just incredible speed and a nice little backhand forehand move. Look at the puck’s on the roll. It’s rolling. He gets it to settle down and he knows where he wants to go with it right away. Good. That’s where he stacks up in Sharks franchise history. Not a bad list there. Luke Hughes to the net. Saved by Nadulkovich and injured reserve as is Adam Goddet who went on and that allowed Bullan to come off. Godette’s going to be out for a bit. Here’s Tofoley takes the shot and another and Allen there to make the save. The Leafs who are kind of off to a so-s so start at 5 by five and one have to be happy that the Blue Jays have taken all the headlines lately because everybody would have been all over Toronto if that weren’t the case. Here’s Kurishv. He scores. Phillip Kurv is heating up and the Sharks lead two nothing. [Music] One area the San Jose Sharks coaches really wanted the team to work on and be have part of their identity is be a good forch check team. And once again, good job by Mario Ferraro getting up and keeping that puck in. Worked along the boards by Kurashv. Then Kurv rolls to shooting position. Bang. Puts it past and Wenberg so good at being in the right place all the time. Five two nothing they lead. And now with the man advantage and Clingberg with time gets it into the slot for Celaney back in front to Foley. Where is it? Jake Allen dragging that right skate was able to keep it out. Tyler Tofo’s beside himself and Jake Allen. He’s going to stay with it. He’s going to stay with it. Almost goes five hole again as Bullan sends it off the glass and down up ice for Kurishv. And he’s got it. Takes a look first working against Sean. Kurichev battling there in the corner against 71 in white who will also be on that Swiss Olympic team with team Omirethal and Kurv and they score a deflection in front. Mario Ferraro shot it. Sharks are up three nothing. Mario Ferraro throws it to the net. I said three. You know what it is? I think it goes straight in. But the key is in front. Watch the flash screen. Oh, it goes off team. Team O Meer who kicks his leg up to try to block it. He changes the direction of the shot and bang, it goes the last two games. Not good starts for them on this road trip. Here’s Dandria now getting a rough ride from Luke Hughes in the corner, but he’s out with the puck. Fired to the net. Saved by Allen. Sharks recover. Dandria again. And Allen with a big stop there. Sharks will change a couple to the PK group. Devils keep the same group on. Jacku snaps a pass right wing side. Dawson Mercer with time and a nice save by Nadelovich off Mercer. That’s the stop you’re looking for. Here’s Hamilton. Now he sure on the near boards. Hamilton thought about a shot. Gives it to Hughes. His quick pass into the slot. Mercer banged at it but couldn’t put it on target. Mercer again shoots it out. Here’s Hamilton back on the wing. Pratt looking flips it back. Hamilton dishing for Hughes. Hughes pass. Score. Nice play. Mercer on the redirect. They get the power play goal and it’s 3-1 with a minute left. On this replay, I want you to watch Dawson Mercer get that stick. He’s going to be in the high slot and as he rolls to the high slot, it’s going to go over to Hughes. Now watch Dawson Doss. Look at him. He’s get See how he leans on that stick? He gets one knee down on the ice. So, Hughes is going there and he knows to go there. A hard pass. It’s a It’s almost a shot pass, but it’s a hard pass. And look at Dawson Mercer down low, heavy stick and deflects it perfectly. That’s a beautiful, beautiful goal by the New Jersey Devils. Dawson has long since departed, but he was so proud of his grandson, Jeff Fzen, and the great career he had in the NHL, including that Stanley Cup that Jeff referenced. Here’s Meyer. Drop pass. That’s read perfectly by Olaf. He’ll work it to Ecklund. Two-on-one with Wenberg. Ecklan shoots, save, rebound, and it got by him. Jake Allen with a big save. The Sharks, they have a little bit of a push back of their own. Shoot and follow. Shoot that puck and watch Nemits. See how he lifts the stick back now for Hughes. Hughes always on the move. Hughes to his backand. Hughes stops behind the net now to the forehand. Palant stuffs one off the pad of Nadelkovich. Sharks clear it out. Luck down by Dickinson. Mercer’s got it again. Dog on a bone. Dawson Mercer. Nikicoish now slides it to the slot. Sharks get it. Lose it. Ne high with the back hand. And then Dickinson just cleared out of the way by team Omire recovering for the Devils. Celbrini almost stole it but Paddle flip it deep now to this side. That’s Jack Hughes again. Spots the open man. Mercer sticks. Pressure. Pressure. Good jump in on this play. The The New Jersey Devils are owning the boards in the Shark Zone. Short little area pass in for Brad. He skates to it. Now back for Hughes. He’ll load up. Q centering and Delkovich with a big save off Andre Pott. They have six in the second period now, but again a second period dominated by the Devils and they dominated that night. Here’s a chance for Smith and another and he scores. [Applause] He had been dominating. It’s 4-1. You call Mlin Cbrini. What a a difference maker. Here you go. He wins the draw, but then he kind of gets behind him. The New Jersey Devils. Mlin stays on it, gets it over to Will. And Will gets one and then the second shot at it. 1650 time of the goal by Smith. And here’s a chance for Ryan Reeves. And Allen able to make the save. Another chance for Good Row. And that and now in the latter stages here they are coming back strong against the Devils. A faceoff win there from Celibbrini. Here’s Orlof from Lilrin. The shot is blocked. Orlock back to the net. They score. It’s Tyler Tafoy and it’s 51. [Music] He’s a funny game, isn’t it? win the faceoff. Get a chance on net doesn’t get there. Hustle in. Make sure you’ve got people who are jumping to the puck. And Orof jumps to the puck and flings it at the net. And I do believe that goes off of Ne or maybe it goes off of JFoli as well. Third as the Sharks endeavor to win their first game on home ice and finish this month of October with a victory. And that was another stated goal of Warsovski coming into the year. We don’t want to have another crappy October. Hughes again. Back to the middle. Hit a shot. Stays alive to Hamilton. Now off the wing. Back to Hamilton. They score. I think it’s Mercer again with a tip. Sounded like it it ticked in. That’s two power play goals for New Jersey. They cut the Sharks lead to 52 as the puck goes out right there. Right up top of the the slot. Now he’s going to roll to the net. And as he turns, it sounded to me like it was tipped, but let’s have a look. See if we can get a better look at it. Hard shot and it goes past the Dulkovich. So the key is like we saw in New Jersey, try not to take penalties. Try to stay out of the penalty box. Li Jigin to the goal line and Eklan Wenberg nice pivot against Hughes takes it to the net and Allen made the save as Mercer goes to the net. Here’s Hamilton the shot lets it go wide. Meer diving across to Delulkovic to rob Teeo Meyer. What a save late. One more for Alex. That’s a That’s a goalender in it. Staying with it. The crowd reacting now as it’s only a matter of a few more seconds. And on this October 30th, the Sharks win their first home game of the season and they take down what was the number one team in the NHL heading into tonight. Heat. Heat. [Music]
Alexander Wennberg’s 800th career game was one to remember as he recorded a goal and an assist to help the San Jose Sharks beat the New Jersey Devils 5-2 to earn their first home win of the season.

See what happens when our goalies can make a save
The return of Timo Time and Dillon. The Devils broadcast were saying NJ lost against all 3 California teams last season in California. The Sharks and Devils do not play again until next year. It is crazy the season just started and this was the final time they both play.
Those jerseys are sweet 🦈
GG Sharks 🦈!
Maybe I was wrong about kurachev
So the sharks switch goal songs to have something new but now go back to the old jersey/sweater style from when Cheechoo was a shark. I bet the old sharks legends would want one of the 2 old sharks goal songs back over the current one also.
Sharks, always keep this jersey in the rotation and make it primary alternate jersey for a long time. Not only are they gorgeous but also lucky i feel
Sharks new goal song is HORRIBLE! They wonder why hockey viewership is down and for a sport where there's a ton of fights in violence they have these cringe pop songs it doesn't make any sense. Play some heavy metal or even gangster rap or something when you score.
🦈🤟
Wow, all of a sudden sharks are looking impressive!
Why does the clock stop for 2 seconds at the :28.9 mark of the 3rd ??????
Sharks gonna lose to the avs
Good game by the sharks. Ned was good and the scoring up and down the lineup was solid. I wasn't a big fan of Misa being scratched.

Sharks win in the retro jersey. Bad sign for the League
Allen reviving Brodeur's helmet.
Ekkys stick ❤
Those classic uniforms. So much better than the super stripes they wear now. I miss the black pants
Bye bye Gavin McKenna
Go 🦈’s!! 😎
The Bruins should trade for Mercer.
Let's go Sharks. All youngsters starting to make difference!
One word : CRUSHED
The San Jose Sharks just beat the number 1 team in the NHL by 3 goals! I'll take it!
This game just goes to show that the sharks can play winning hockey. Just need to be consistent
man only if reavo scored
Геть вiд нашоï землi
Гидивiсть до оркiв та спокiй
За рiв з крокодилами!
За рiв з крокодилами!
Sharks…Domination m/
I love those Sharks jerseys
Imagine what these kids could do with a bit better of defense and poise
Yet another game that supports my question of why do so many Sharks fans want or think Misa should or has earned the 2nd center spot. Not even saying this as a knock against Misa just how the hell could you say he's looked better than Wennberg. Even last game in which it was Misa best in terms of analytics Wennberg still had a better game and was the 2nd best player only behind Kurashev. This is the 3rd game this line has been together and they have looked great in all 3 games. Which is great to take pressure off of the 1st line not to have to produce all the time for this team to have a chance. Like this game they were the best line in terms of offensive production have 3 of the 5 goals with the 1st line having the other 2. Now if they can fill out that 3rd line then that will really be something.
Last thing I'm interested in doing with this team is shacking up a 2nd line that has been great ever since they went to Eklund, Wennberg and Kurashev. So me Eklund development is just as important as Misa's and right now he's playing his best hockey with Wennberg centering his line. And for an added bonus Kurashev looks to be having a bounce back season which would also be a great thing. As he's still young and if he continues to play well then at the very least the Sharks could give him another contract after this year to be at the very last a 3rd line guy. I was bummed when they traded Zetterlund but Kurashev looks like he could fill his spot and even be an upgrade. As a guy who right now can fill in for a top 6 role but most likely is a 3rd line depth guy that can produce.
The kids are allright
Love these uniforms! Go Sharks
Change this goalsong back to the old one!
