Oh, I I thought you were announcing your departure last show. Sorry. Enjoy me while I last. You guys, we’re so close. You You guys saw me in real time work through my issues there, but I’ve already worked through them, so I’ve just come to accept it at this point. It’s good news for Miles Bridges. He’s got one more year. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Well, we we’ll have to have the Miles Bridges conversation is what we’re going to do. And and with who we’re Well, LaMelo Ball, too. I mean, LaMelo Ball’s got another year for number one. Uh, have we not done? Yeah, we haven’t done one, zero, or double zero. We have three. I thought we did. No, we did double zero. We got double skipped around. That’s right. We’d make our own rules. All right. The The games are here, folks. We We This is it. This is the last show before a regular season game and we’ll get to recap some regular season basketball. So, where do you want to go? Do you want to go rotation station? Some of the bigger questions surrounding the two spot, the center spot. It’s been an ongoing conversation this off season, but perhaps we give our prediction for what’s going to happen in the opener. How do you feel like Charles Lee is going to address the two spot and the five spot in this opener against Brooklyn? Chugga chugga chugga chugga. Rotation station. I got to get an actual conductor hat for this segment. We absolutely have to go to rotation station before the Hornets kick things off for real. For real. And uh this was the impetus for this also was that Keith, longtime supporter of both this show and every Hornets box score, requested personally that we take a trip to Rotation Station. And I am nothing uh but here for the fans of this show. So without further ado, let’s take a look at this document that I’ve started to update just a little bit here. Um uh this is the Hornets rotation station which you can get access to by the way if you go to joinsubex.com/lockdown hornets and join the sicko brigade. I will send you a link to this updating document, this living document. It is kind of the Hornets constitution. It’s constantly changing. We don’t know what any of it means. Uh and we’re not sure if it’s going to work anymore. Uh here we go. LaMelo Ball in the starting position. Brandon Miller and Miles Bridges. I have those in teal. Teal means starter. Those are the only three players that I have in teal. Josh Green is kind of in teal steel from last year, but he’s in the injured column. Grant Williams also in the injured column. Joining LaMelo Ball right now, and you can argue with me if you’d like. I’ve got Colin Ston slotted in at two. This is my prediction. And then I’ve got Ryan Caulbriner as the center for opening night against the Brooklyn Nets. I’ll just give you quickly my reasoning. And my reasoning is this. The Brooklyn Nets have two centers in Nick Claxton and in Dron Sharp that did take some three-point shots last season, but didn’t make many of them. Both of them sub 30% three-point shooters. I think if you’re going to play Ryan Cochrrener, you want to play him against bigger centers and centers that aren’t a big threat from three. That’s what Brooklyn has on the roster. Okay. So, let’s go to Colin Section just for a moment because I don’t think it’s going to be a long conversation, at least in my opinion. What are the chances Khan starts over the guy that they’ve been uh praising all off season, being a culture fit, being a culture changer, being the guy that gets a rise out of the competition all around. I Khan Canipple, he might fit in some areas better with LaMelo and Brandon being the connector, yada yada. We’ve gone through it so many times this off seasonason. I just think as we hear Charles Lee discuss what Colin Son’s important is to this roster. I I don’t think you reward the rookie with a start right off of the bat when Colin has meant so much to everything. He was the first move that you made outside of drafting Khan Canipple. He was the next guy. When we think about changes this Hornets roster has gone through, we think of Colin Ston first. So, I think for all those reasons, I flirted with the idea of Khan starting, but it wasn’t very long. It was a short-lived summer romance with that idea. I think Colin has to be starting here at two. Doug, do you have any quarrels with that? I don’t. I mean, and I think it’s both a reflection of Colin Ston’s play this preseason, which I think has uh been stellar. He has been the aggressive uh straight line driver that the Hornets have needed for many years. A great compliment to LaMelo Ball’s offensive game. Defensively, he’s going to have some issues because of his size. But it seems like when they were bringing him off the bench, every time he would check in the game, immediate strip steel. Immediate. And it would get them into transition and score a basket. And so maybe you hear that and say, “Well, why don’t you just keep bringing him off the bench for that kind of punch?” And I would say look part of this the reality of the NBA is that there is a little bit of that rookie has to earn the spot. Now it’s different with Caulk Briner because the center position is in a much weaker position. It’s much more a matchup uh decision than it is like rookie versus veteran. Um but I think I think you give Kyle in the start. I think you let Khan uh develop off the bench, get some easier matchups, particularly defensively because like is Brandon taking Cam Thomas? Is Khan going to take Cam Thomas? Like that’d be a tough like hello rookie. Here’s your first assignment. It’s one of the best on ball scorers that we have in this league. Um so good luck. No, I mean I think you let a veteran like Colin Ston deal with that or you do some matchup stuff with Brandon Miller. Um, yeah, I I think Colin Ston is the play here. I I would say, you asked me percentage-wise. I’m not going to put it at 100% because we did see Keniple start um a little bit in and and so much of that we haven’t mentioned Trey Van yet and he started as well in the preseason and so we we haven’t gotten a full like designation on his status yet, I don’t think. And so, you know, I would put Colin at like I’ll say 65% to start and then split the rest up between Khan and Trey. See, I I for some reason I just don’t feel like Trey’s going to start. I think they’re going to bring him off of the bench. So, I really think this is a Coniple Colin Saxon conversation. I’d put it at 75%. That’s what feels right in my gut that Colin ends up starting. Okay, those are the thoughts on Colin. Let’s approach some of the coaulbrer diabate conversation because caulk Brener you have starting against the Nets because of the matchup. you went more so shooting uh based instead of height based because if it was height based then you might just throw mousidate out there cuz you’re not facing the trees right Nick Claxton Don Sharp Musabate if you actually I think see the Spider-Man meme between Don Sharp and Mousidate with all the things they do well some of the things they struggle in it’s their alleffort guys they’re great at offensive rebounding they’re pretty good at not allowing defensive uh rebounds. Um you see Musa struggle a little bit at the rim. Dron Sharp because of his size also struggles at the rim. It’s Spider-Man meme galore. So who has the better Spider-Man on their roster? That’s one way to look at it. But with Nick Claxton, Nick Claxton is a great shot blocker. Perhaps you’re a little worried about Claxton’s athleticism sticking with Diabate in the paint and blocking some of those shots where it would be harder to do that with Ryan Cochrer down low. My question is, is Kulkrinter going to get abused as a rookie his first time out there against a guy like Dron Sharp Claxton who do play with a lot of effort, Doug, and can grab a bunch of rebounds? And is Caulkriner going to deter you from shooting slash when you do shoot uh uh not allow a very high percentage? Like it it’s all about Caulkriner being effective against those guys. while taller. While that’s the idea of protecting the rim, are these two going to be too physical and athletic for him? That’s my biggest question and I don’t know. I think I would go probably Musa. Um, but that’s the question that I have between these two. Well, look, Charles Lee hugged Musa Diabate. I don’t think he’s hugged Ryan Cochrinter. This might end up being like the Hollywood handshake for all my um uh great British Bakeoff fans out there. Uh the hug might be the signal that that that person is in line to win the bake off or to win the starting position. I don’t know. Uh but Ryan Cochrinter, I think uh could use that height to his advantage offensively. Um again, you’re not going to like back you’re not going to back down sharp, but we’ve seen him score just outside the basket. He’s got some touch. He’s got a lot of touch actually. So Cochrinter could use that to his advantage offensively. And then honestly like defensive rebounding that responsibility has mainly been on Miles Bridges and less the center position. So if they get outrebounded uh that might be more of a Miles thing uh than anything. Uh so you know I think rebounding for me is going to be a group effort all season long. It’s not going to be on Diabate or Cochr Brener solely and and their deficiencies at rebounding I don’t think are going to be solely the responsibilities of those two guys. So, yeah, I think it’s a it’s a tough decision. It might even be like a coin flip for uh for Coach Lee. I I don’t know that he’s going to be like, I’m definitive that this is exactly what we should do at either of these positions. And it it it sort of opens up the conversation and maybe we get to this next uh that that Keith over at Every Hornets box score was wanting to know, which is like how tight is this rotation going to be? because we heard a lot about Charles Lee wanting to experiment in the preseason with different rotations. The question is, is he done experimenting? Did he figure out all the things that he needed needed to figure out in preseason or are we going to see 11 12 guys play um against the Brooklyn Nets or or do you think we’ll see like nine guys? So, I mean, I think that’s a good question that we can talk more about. Yeah. Okay, let’s do it. Coming up next on the Locked On Hornets podcast. Beast everywhere. Experimentation. How long does the experimentation happen with this team? Plus, we’ll give you more of a specific Brooklyn uh Charlotte preview. That’s still to come. LOH. This episode is brought to you by Built. More Lockdown Hornets ahead. Let’s dive more into the center conversation. I I do think the whole the thing that we were talking about regarding Colin section and con kiple I think that’s at play here at center as well Doug if mint moint mobile you’re really you really want us to know about Mint Mobile I’m telling you man it’s fantastic okay Mint Mobile is the best I also think Musa is fantastic if Charles Lee is hugging Musa and you want to reward the guy that was here last year that continues almost to be on an escalator of improvement which isn’t always the and all he does is give his 110% effort and he makes a whole bunch of defensive plays. I if it’s 50/50 because of the matchup or it’s 50/50 on who you want to start, it just feels like the veteran probably earns the benefit of the doubt. Even if Musa, this veteran, I think, is four days younger than Ryan Cochrren. It’s just how wild. Caulkrren’s been in college basketball forever. I I think it feels like the benefit of the doubt, the guy you give the nod to probably just goes to the guy that works his bleep off and has been in the system for a little bit longer than what Caulkrin has, who also is a rookie, you know. So, feels like maybe that’s part of the reason that Musa would be my favorite to land the starting center spot in game one and then Charles Lee will experiment as the season goes on. Yeah, that’s what makes both of these decisions really interesting is that you there aren’t really as many political angles to take here because Colin Ston was traded over the to this team in the off season and is on an expiring deal. Musa Diabate um is is is on a funky deal too. And so like, you know, it’s not like these guys are have, you know, big extensions or have been with the team a long long time. And so, you know, this really is sort of a pure basketball decision if he wants to make it about that. He could also, you know, Charles Lee could also make this about, hey, Colin Ston uh really has come in here and been a leader and so I want to make sure that that he is is given that reward of a starting position. Just a lot of different ways that that he could go with this or just make it pure basketball and pure matchups. Uh, but I think to Keith’s question that we teased at the end of the last segment, I do think that Charles Lee is going to open up this rotation early in the season uh while Josh Green and Grant Williams recover from their respective injuries. So, I have in my reserve column, I do have Trey Mann, I’ve got Liam McNeely, I’ve got Kenipple, Tan Salon, and Musa Diabate. To me, I all 10 of those. I I would be shocked if only nine guys played. I mean, I could see 10 guys playing. I could see 11. I mean, I could see some Seion James moments late, maybe in the second half. If you need somebody, if Cam Thomas is going off and you want somebody to come in and try to slow him down, I could totally see that. I don’t see Pat Coneton playing. I don’t see KJ Simpson playing. Maybe Musa or maybe I just did it. I didn’t do go Mob, but I went Ma Musa instead of Mason. I could see Mason if things do go terribly wrong for Caulk Briner um or uh or Diabate. Although I don’t think it’s going to go wrong for Diabate, but if things go wrong for Coaul Briner, I could see some Mason Plumbley minutes. So, that’s that’s just kind of my read on on the current situation with the roster. Um yeah, a couple of other things. Uh Danny Wolf, for all you draft heads out there, that’s another center on this team who was versatile at Michigan, can put the ball on the deck, could shoot it, kind of kind of can shoot it. I I think, man, I don’t know. I think you might want Musa out on him just because he can handle the rock a little more. Uh if you get Danny Wolf on Ryan Cochrrener in the high post, you might worry about him driving around Caulk Brener, but I think Caulkrren’s long enough and uh defensive laden enough to where he can keep up with him, right? I don’t think he’s going to get destroyed. So, we’ll be interesting matchup based stuff there. You want to dive into some of this start that the Hornets have for this schedule here, Doug? Um, yeah, let’s do it. Let’s do it. So, the Hornets are on a four-game winning streak in season openers. It’s one of the weird things the Hornets have been good at, despite this being a team that consistently wins less than 30 games. They win the first one. In fact, this is a weird trend that we can bring all the way back to the seven- win Bobcat season where they won their season opener. They won their season opener that year and lost a lot afterwards. I’m hoping that’s at play again. The potential to win five openers in a row. In fact, I kind of like the way that the season opens up. We probably talked about this on schedule release day, but the first few games that you have, it’s Brooklyn, who is, remember, they drafted five rookies and kept all of them. So, they’re really young. They have Michael Porter Jr. who is a really gifted offensive player. They have Terrence Man. have some vets that are kind of interesting, but still Brooklyn is projected to not be a very good basketball team this year. So, you have Brooklyn to start off, then you’re on the road for the next three games, but you’re on the road against Philly, who’s injured again. Washington, which should be good for us, except we lose to them all the time. I’m hoping I’m hoping this is the year where we can get rid of that bad Washington Guju. And then it’s on the road against Miami, which doesn’t seem to be Miami of years past, especially with the hero injury. Yeah, man. You look at the 10 games Utah, you play them within your first 10 games at home. By the way, you play against the Jazz. I mean, Doug, it given where the Hornets are in the hierarchy of the best teams and worst teams in the NBA, you’re playing a lot of teams that are in your general area, which is good, or at least are thought of to be in your general area. So, hopefully we can get some kind of cushion as the competition gets a little better with the season going on. It will be a great test not of their overall talent because if they go and you know annihilate a few of these teams and take care of business, I think we’ll be saying on this podcast and I’m sure a lot of other podcasts will be saying, “Okay, but now we have to see them do it against better competition.” Right? It will be a test of their seriousness, something we’ve complimented them on a lot this off season. um and their preparedness. Uh something that I feel like Charles Lee has complimented them on a lot this off season, but it it’s e to me it’s it’s easy to get yourself prepared to play some of the better competition in this league. It’s a little bit more difficult to to go, okay, we’ve got to really get serious here and take on the Brooklyn Nets who are again who are they didn’t tank well enough last season. That was the message that ownership and the front office sent to their new head coach. Hey, you did too good of a job last season getting all of these guys to play defense. So, we’re going to further uh make it difficult for you to do that uh by trading away some players and drafting more rookies and d on down the line. So, can they play some of these unserious teams in a serious way? Uh that that will be what I’ll have my eye on in this opening stretch of the season. But they’ve got all the opportunities in the world. Yeah. Once they get to November, usually after the first five games, that’s when they start to lose a lot more than they win. But they hold on in these last couple of years to where, okay, like we’re two and two. You win the first game, you lose the second, and you hover around 500 for the first five, then you start losing quite a bit. Perhaps this breaks that trend given the way the schedule is set up. Well, so I I would account for that in a few ways. one, apart from the I’m sure I’m going to miss a few because there have been a lot of injuries, but the one that comes immediately to mind that was in the preseason was well, I think there were two preseason LaMelo injuries. There was like one against the Wizards and I think one against Memphis. So, you know, apart from those, they they they go into a season healthy and then the injuries start to pile up and then they didn’t have enough talent to get them through some of those injuries and so the snowball started at that point. And I I think another thing that you could account for that is that when you play a style of play that really benefits your offense, I think early in a season you can sneak up on teams. And I think the Hornets will do the same thing in this one, particularly if they want to play fast, if they’re really committed to that in the regular season like they were in the preseason. They will sneak up and outscore some teams, but then as the season goes on, scouting reports come out, defenses start to get a little bit better. Then that’s when and the shots don’t fall, guys. when you don’t really have sustainable ways to play defensively, eventually you will get exposed. And so that’s what I think has happened to these Hornets teams of the past. And what I hope that they can somewhat avoid, although they will be bad defense, there will be nice where they are awful defensively. I hope you know when you zoom out, they could, you know, avoid some of those issues in the macro. Hopefully they can, but it sets up nicely for them starting this uh opener at home, too. Again, I I think that’s cool that it’s happening at Spectrum Center against the Nets before they hit a three-game roadie and then come back and play a couple of games there. Let’s keep it local. Coming up next on the Lockdown Hornets podcast, everywhere. The Hornets are on local television, at least for the opener. The Hornets, the season opener, it’s going to be on local television. It’s something they dabbled in a little bit last year, but shout out to the Hornets for making this happen and uh FanDuel Sports Network. They’re partnering with WSOC to bring you a game locally, which is awesome to see. Doug, what’s some more information on it? Yeah, so it’s partnering with WSOC TV, Channel 9, Gray Media, Simo Casting, the home opener versus uh Brooklyn. Uh this is the second consecutive season that Select Hornets games have been available for fans to watch on local overthe-air television. The full Simocast overthe-air schedule will be released at a later date. Yes, five games last season. And when those games were announced, my immediate reaction was, “Thank you. I’ve been screaming about this for years.” that the the way you rejuvenate, build a fan base, a local fan base that wants to go through the gates and pay for tickets and pay for merchandise is to put these games on free television where it can not only be a North Carolina thing. It can be a South Carolina thing. Um, this this fan base has got it needs to be shaken awake. I mean, it has been dormant for a long time. uh almost 10 years since they’ve seen any playoff basketball. It has been over two decades since they’ve seen this team win a playoff series. Uh at least let them see them, you know, at least put them on in a place. I when I began my Hornets fandom, I had a little television that was like this big. if you’re watching on YouTube, very small television that I put on my I was like eight or nine years old and I put it on my uh bookshelf and I tuned it to Waxin 64 to watch, you know, Glenn Rice and company do it up. That’s but I that’s how I did it as a kid because it was free because I could make my little antenna go and do it. And so that’s this is this is the way I hope it’s more than five games. I don’t think it’s going to be 82. I think we’re we’re some time in the future away from that, but it’s got to be more than five. So, yeah, the money part is is the interesting part here because you kind of have to take that leap of faith that the investment is worth not charging every single penny to watch your favorite basketball team because there’s this tweet that’s been making the rounds today that you see it cost $650 to watch every single NBA game this year. Uh, right. So, uh, yeah, it costs a total of $650 this season to watch every NBA game across all services per Sportico and it’s a lot of money. There’s always been some sort of payw wall to some degree. Uh, not with the antenna of course, but with cable, a lot of people had cable and so you’re talking about paying, I don’t know what, hundred and something dollars a month, which, okay, I guess you could argue to some degree, well, if you got cable, you’re already paying something for those TV services anyway. At the same time, I just am such a believer, a believer, God almighty, I can’t talk today. I’m such a believer in making something as convenient as possible and having a bunch of people flock to your product. So, if you charge people an arm and a leg, 20 $25 a month for one app that shows your favorite sports team, then okay, you’re probably going to not have as many people pay that to come watch your basketball team. If you put it in front of their face and you put it on local television where it’s easy enough for these people to watch, then you’re pro then you’re trying I think the argument is to make the investment that these people are going to be lifelong fans and it’s because it’s something all right well oh I’m I’m scrolling here at 7:00 after a hard work day. Oh Hornets are on okay cool yeah I’ll go ahead and watch it. I don’t have anything else to watch. And then you become a fan of LaMelo because he gives you one behind the back pass and that little minutelong window that you wanted to check out that game. We’re like, “Oh man, that was awesome.” And you just keep buying in, you buy in, you buy in. And that’s how fandom is bred. Right now the kids, they want to see LaMelo make the behind the back pass again. And that never happens if you’re talking about the parents needing to pay $25 a month and they just decide not to. So now you go to something different in uh whatever you’re whenever you’re uh surfing channels at 7:00. So anyways, it’s I I I get I don’t know how the money works and all of that. I don’t know what the the studies are with that. I have to imagine they’ve got some sort of studies, but to me it just seems simple in trying to make it as convenient as possible for fans to flock to your product. And this does a pretty good job of going away from your fans as much as possible. This to me is not a Hornets problem. This is an NBA problem. And I think Adam Silver knows it. And I think the NBA knows it. And I think they’re working on it because the RSN model um worked for a long time until it didn’t. And and and I think now people uh they look at something like the NFL like if you’re a Panthers fan uh yeah you’re you’re going to get one or two national TV games that maybe you have to like figure out is it Prime, is it ESPN? What do I got to figure out to get but like so many of the Panthers games every year are going to be on your local television feed. Um it is it is easy to freely watch them. With the NBA it’s a lot different. I mean, finding a bar that even has league pass is somewhat of a challenge, I know, for Hornets fans. And so, yeah, I mean, this to me, this is a no-brainer as the NBA more NBA teams, by the way, are moving from the RSN model. It’s just those NBA teams are the Utah’s and the Phoenix’s that have ownership groups that can eat the loss. uh Balmer in in LA like they can eat the loss uh that that would come from not taking the bag of money from the RSN from the regional sports network and so they can do it. The Hornets I don’t think are in that same position which is why I say this is an NBA problem. They just signed a billion I don’t know 78 whatever billion dollar whatever the number was TV deal. They’ve got to figure out a way to get some of these other franchises to make more of their games available on television, whether that’s revenue share or whatever or some kind of incentive program to help these help these teams do it. Uh so that it’s more than an experiment. It’s an opportunity for all fans to engage with this team and so that the next eight or nine yearear-old Doug Branson can tune in and become a fan and become a podcaster. But I’m just warning you, future Doug Branson, if you do that, you’re now my competitor and I will crush you. Oh, yeah. Future Doug Branson’s going down. This is a looper situation. I’m gonna tell you, Bruce Willis is going to win that fight. That’ll do it for Lockdown Hornets. Thanks for making us your first listen. Available anywhere you get your pods. That includes YouTube. I think Kalk starts and Moussa finishes.
Doug had rabbit ears then
If they wanna start with the right tone, the leader of this team must start. Yiu gotta show that you’re a serious organization and a serious team. That comes with starting the best players and Collin is one of them. We cannot afford to mess this up or take advantage of the fact, so many of these teams are missing their key players.
And PS I really enjoy you guys‘s podcast because you guys aren’t stubborn in maybe changing your opinions and even if you have a different opinion than the viewers, you at least provide reasoning as to why. you’re not afraid to change your mind if you see other information that supports another idea, I respect it.
Tidjaun should be starting. at Greensboro Swarm. and not playing nba minutes. give his minutes to McNeely who has dominating in practice.
Can’t wait to see kalk block ants big dunk and watch him fall on his ass and kalk stands over him and says get that ish outta here lol 😂
Kinda sucks as a Aussie fan since day one have every jersey change they ever did own socks towels cups anything you can think of I have in hornets lol I own all the Melo shoes even the scooby doos lol pay something like 25 bucks a month to watch on nba app there has never been any free to air hornets games here ever they won’t even let us tune into wfnz to listen to the game live Disney plus has nba now but once in a blue moon you will get a hornets game same for prime video you set your fav team then it shows no game and the one it does show when you click it it takes to to a free week trial with nba app like wtf how much money do I need to spend to watch a game free let us watch it on your local network broadcast I’d even watch a live YouTube stream of anyone even using a cam corder 😂❤
Hoping to see Doug walk back the "Mason is starting" QB kneel!
Sickos unite!!!!
Look into getting UZZU sports. I’ve had it the last 2 seasons. It has every nba game, every football game, every baseball game. 120$ for a year.
Let’s go Hornets 🙌🏻🙌🏻
I like Sexton as the 6th man. Leading the 2nd unit and getting extra minutes down the stretch when he's playing well.
Pumped for this season outside of the boring OKC bullcrap type of play again
Its as simple as let kon and kalk earn it. Thats what lee has been preaching all offseason so it would go against what he has be saying starting a rookie off bat
Great preview Walker and Doug 🙌🏻, looking forward to see how we play tonight and also the first stretch of games. We’ve got good depth in the backcourt and each of Colin, Tre and Kon will have plenty of minutes to impress 🏀. Like you both discussed the center rotation is interesting and might depend on the matchups. My big hope this season is that Lamelo and Brandon stay healthy 🙌🏻 so we can gage if they are the future of our franchise 👍🏻, let’s go Hornets 🐝
Hornets should play a small ball fast lineup especially if their not playing dynamic centers on opposing teams.
Doug you’re absolutely right about local tv and I’ve been with you on this specific issue ever since FSSE went away. Frankly, the only reason I’m a hornets fan period was because with cable… your local fox sports affiliate showed all the games for free – period. Just had to have cable. It’s why I’m so passionate… all those years sat in a beanbag in front of my tv just watching this team hoping one day they’d turn it around since they were so close to the upstate. The SC presence for this team is embarrassingly low. Lived here my whole life and I’m one of maybe 2-3 other hornets fan I’ve ever seen from this area. Simulcasting your game locally IS the ONLY way to reliably build a home grown fan base. Seems so simple to me and they are only now starting to get it right because the NBA has finally realized what they did was stupid.
Keys for the season (Health permitting): Defend the 3, stop allowing bigs to have career nights against us, and do we have enough reliable scoring to reduce the offensive load on Lamelo and Brandon Miller? Fortunately, the 2026 draft class will be one of the best draft classes ever, but enough is enough. The Hornets need to start winning games.
Collin takes pressure off LaMelo on the offensive end. The offense stagnated at times last year with Green at 2G when defenses put the aggressive double-team on LaMelo. That ain't gonna happen with Sexton on the court. As for the 5 position, Kalkbrenner may start, but Coach Lee will have Moussa finish at crunch time.
WHAT HAS COLLIN SEXTON DONE IN THE NBA ?
Let’s keep it real, if Collin was so great why was he traded ?
Looking forward to the new season and listening to you guys break things down. I would like to share my wish list for the season.
1. A healthy season especially for Lamelo and Brandon.
2. A push for the playoffs successfully or not, I just want us to at least be in conversation.
3. Play more defense than normal.
If we can get that I will be very happy.
