He hadn’t practiced all week. Is dealing with a concussion. Christian Kirk dealing with a hamstring again. Graham Mertz, I mean, okay. Daryl Taylor, a rotational um edge rusher. He is missing today’s game. Same with tackles/guard Jarrett Kingston and then tackle Trent Brown. They are both inactive for today’s game. Looking at the 49ers side of things, some injuries for them. Bryce Huff, he’s out for today’s game. Same with Jake Brindle. Same with Brock Party. Those guys will not be suiting up today for the 49ers. And then Ricky Pieraw Yeder Gross Mados. These two guys are also not playing for the San Francisco 49ers. So, a lot of injuries on both sides. The Texans obviously their wide receiver core once again depleted even though we spent all this, you know, draft capital. We went ahead and traded for somebody. We seem to be in the same spot we were last year with the uh with the wide receiver room and it’s just I mean can never stay healthy in there. You can just never never stay healthy. And I mean the the three biggest things in this game that I’m looking at, the maybe the three biggest story lines for this game for the Houston Texans. Number one, I mean it’s obvious. It’s the Blitz. It’s CJ Strad. It is this Texans offensive line. Will they be able to hold up against the Blitz? That is going to be the biggest problem for the Houston Texans in today’s matchup. Also, the uh the fact that the 49ers coaching staff, De Mo Ryan, they know each other very well. Demo coached there from 2017 to 2021 until he was the uh named the head coach for the Houston Texans. He was the understudy for Robert Salah. Whenever Salah got the Jets head coaching gig, that’s when Demo Ryan got his promotion to defensive coordinator. Before that, he was the linebacker’s coach. And then obviously Kyle Shanahan was there the entire time that Demo was in San Francisco. So, you know, the fact that they know each other so well, I don’t know who that lends itself more to. Demo Ryan knowing Kyle Shanahan or Kyle Shanahan and Robert Salah knowing Demo Ryan. And then lastly, as I said, M. Jones has kind of been on a roll, ladies and gentlemen. He has been more than a serviceable quarterback for the 49ers over the past couple weeks. In his three starts, he’s been good. He’s been good. Here are his stats. Oh, well, no picture on it, but 67% completion percentage, 1400 yards, six touchdowns, and four interceptions. I mean, it’s not insane, but at the same time, it’s not bad. It’s not bad. And I think, you know, the elephant in the room, the one thing that we’re all looking at talking about on today’s show is Texans offensive coordinator Nick Kayley. What is your confidence level in new OC Nick Kaye in today’s matchup against the 49ers? gonna be a big test for them to see whether or not Kaye can go up against Robert Solo, one of the best DCs there. There’s a lot of good, you know, players on the 49ers defense. They’re without a lot of guys. Bryce Huff, their leading edge rusher this year. He’s out. Uh Nick Bosa, who their star edge rusher, they paid all that money. He’s out. Fred Warner is out as well. a coin. 49ers haven’t won against good teams except the Seahawks. The Texans lost to the Seahawks though, so that’s why I’m a little worried. That’s why I’m a little worried. And speaking of losing right now, the 49ers are one of our biggest channels here at Chat Sports. And I know it’s going to be a tall task for us to beat them today, but I’m going to try.
