LA Clippers vs New Orleans Pelicans Full Highlights 1st Qtr | Oct 31 | 2025 NBA Highlights

very versatile. He’s faster than most five. He’s bigger than most threes and fours. And they’re going to have to show him a crowd tonight. It’s easier said than done, Jamie. Pelicans win the tap. They’ll happen to start the fourth quarter as well. You can tell by the court. This is a Cup game. Three on the wing is good by Herb Jones. He has been struggling from the field to open up, but it is early. Again, expect a very desperate Pelicans squad in search of win number one. They were blown out in Denver in particular in the third quarter. The Nuggets opened up with a 29-2 run as Avita Zubat puts up and in the first shot for the Clippers. Defensively, you don’t want this team to get a start. New Orleans is shooting 28% from the three-point line. Able to make the first one, but good response by the Clippers. And that’s where he’s so tough, Zion Williams, especially when he’s on the move because then you can’t tilt the court to his side and take away those driving lanes. He has slimmed down. He looks terrific. He is moving well. Had a minor foot injury, so he’s played in three of the four games. Nice feed from Zoo. Be juggles, recovers to Leonard to the corner. Oh, out of nowhere comes Derek Jones Jr., don’t you feel the energy a little bit different? I mean, bodies are moving right. I know it’s early in the game, but that’s prime example of seeking out where the opportunity was and taking advantage of. Look at that deflection by Hart, retrieved by Beal. Clippers on the move. They lop it to Leonard in the mid-range and it’s a near perfect start for the Clippers. They are three for four and they grab their first cushion here tonight. This has been a thorn on the side this Pelican squad for the Clippers over the years as rookie Jeremiah Cheers plays back up top to Jones. Feeling good, lets it fly and knocks it down. Jones now eight of 20 from three but overall just 29% from the field. And that’s a shot too that you give up a little bit. You don’t run out to Herd Jones at all. You make him make a few and now you start to inch up, but he’s made a couple hook pass inside. Retrieved by the Pelicans. Tough pass by Harden. Pelicans out in front. They played well in the first quarter, but their efficiency dips as the game goes on. Fears on the wing. Not much of a three-point shooter just yet, but coming off a career night in Denver where he was 10 of 15 with 21 points. They are really high on fears. This he’s still learning how to play, but has all the attributes to be an outstanding player in particular in this league for the Pelicans. Zoo leaves it short. This is Fierce. Plays back over to Mei. And now on the wing to Zion Williamson drives inside, bouncing into defenders and lays it in for a second. It’s interesting. Some players you say take away the left hand, you do everything you want, but they still get there. That’s prime example of Zy being able to get you to a strong hand and finish inside. Open is Jones on the wing. Got off to a great start first few ball games. Went one for six against the Warriors a couple of nights back. Song remains the same. Pelicans by four. Steal the rebound. field from the wing to the lane to the rim under borrows off the iron. Missed the last couple of ball games after taking a charge against the Suns last week inside. It’s me lays it up and in. But you can’t give up a layup. You miss one on one end. Defense has to get back and that time it was a dribble penetration too deep inside. The defense collapsed and gave up an easy pass into the Pelicans. Four minutes off the first quarter clock. Pelicans five for seven. Harden steps into a clean look from above and the rebound is collected by the Pelicans. It is early so I put no stock of these numbers, but New Orleans comes in dead last in the NBA in offense. Hard to tell the way they’ve started. Trey Murphy misses. Clippers rebound, but they throw it away. Clippers lead the league with 12 ball turnovers a game. Big stop inside by Zoo. And now Jones the other way finds an open be in the corner. They swing it to a wideopen Kai for three. I thought Derek Jones Jr. could have attacked the basket that time. I thought he gave up his dribble out to be. But that time with that athleticism, challenge your opponent at the rim. A deflection and interception both by Leonard. Kawawaii maintains the bounce and fades and fires and fills it up. Kawawaii Leonard now with his second basket. It’s 128 in favor of the Pelicans. The Clippers have not played at a high pace so far in this young season, but they’re getting up and down here in the first quarter. Murphy over the outri fingertips of Zoo. Not so. It’s blocked and it’s recovered by Leonard. Clippers don’t have numbers, but Harton speeds up, gets the pass, takes it to the house, and rings it in. High ball turnovers now benefit the Clippers. And excellent patience that time by Kawawaii. Looking at Derek Jones Jr. on one wing, but then identifying where James Harden was at for the easy layup. Zion sees a double team in front of the Clipper bench. I feel good about the Clippers winning their group play. I do. I did not feel good about the other two years Clippers were going through it after trades. Great play by Willie Green coming out of the timeout. Mi with the throw out and it’s 14-10 in favor of the Pelicans. That’s an excellent play coming out the timeout to get me back door that time. Real miscommunication by the Clippers and no ball pressure on the passer results in an easy basket. Gets the screen from Zoo. Pass is low. Zoo feels it now. Be up under. Patience lets it fly. It’s wide right and the rebound goes to DK and the Pelicans. Had two good looks that time. Beautiful patience that time by Bill. Not able to capitalize on an open shot. Fears zigs and tags his way into the paint. Throws it up off the window. What a rebound by Mei. And they swing it back out to Murphy. On the second effort, Murphy gets it to fall. I’ve mentioned he has struggled from above the arc. That’s just his 63 in the first five games. This guy is an absolute player. Allstar quality. He’s going to have to have a few more wins if he wants to be considered for that game here in Englewood. Garrick Jones Jr. for three. Retaliates here and Englewood knocks it down. It’s 1713 Pelicans. Yeah, beautiful relocation that time right into the sideline of the drive of Kawhi catch. Catch and release. Bay for three and Zoo all alone inside. Harden feeling good. He’ll let it fly. It brings the rim. Zoo taps it home and a Zubat his second board and his second bucket brings the Clippers two within two. Mentioned how the Pelicans are 0 and4. You go back a few years, they opened up three and 16. That’s another three by Murphy and not a great sign for Tyoo’s club. Top defensive teams in the league. Really excitement was in the air. Quickly how times change. I think they had some of the best role players. It’s just been tough. Again, I mentioned this before going to break as the Clippers turn it over out of the timeout. City Bay controls. On the wing is Jordan Pool for three and Kawhi with the rebound. They went three and 16. They rallied and ultimately won in the playing game and made the playoffs. So, they’ve been in doom and gloom scenarios before. Willie Green has been able to get them out of it regardless of what happens here this year for New Orleans. Willie Green in my book is a very good coach. That was a very nice finish from the Vita Zubas. We’ve talked about it. Coaches got on him in the offseason. We want you to dunk as much as possible. He’s listening. And also too, he’s recognizing that teams are going to play him and try to take away the middle. So, he’s utilizing the baseline and Alvarado right there. Right back. Listen, this is one of those games where a New Orleans team comes in on the road. They haven’t won a game. They feel they can come in and steal one. And you can see it right now. is shooting the ball right now, especially from the three-point line. Five for nine. Leonard Dunn is open, driven off the line, but pulls the trigger, leaves it short. Alvarado, the shortest player in uniform, comes away with the loose ball. But don’t let the size fool you. We’ve talked about heart over height. He is the epitome of that for the Pelicans. Bulldog Alvarado in the corner for a three.
