Fun write-up about our amazing organist Benny Drawbars. From the article:

Drawbars tries to throw in deep cuts. Inspired by Kantor, he hopes to rarely, if ever, repeat a song within a season and frequently honors requests. Fans can walk right up and give a suggestion, or offer one on social media.

“The idea behind it is it keeps things interesting for people at the games,” Drawbars said. “Keeps things interesting for me, because I’m not just playing the same stuff.”

If the creative juices are flowing, he floats along. He had “Buy a Fire Extinguisher Before You Need a Fire Extinguisher” by Hot Mulligan queued up to tease the Calgary Flames, and LCD Soundsystem’s “New York, I Love You, But You’re Bringing Me Down” ready after the Rangers scored.

When the Colorado Avalanche responded to a Kraken goal with three of their own, he saw an opportunity for Olivia Rodrigo’s “1 Step Forward, 3 Steps Back.”

  1. Couldn’t care less about organ music at sporting events. It’s antiquated and can go the way of the dodo.

  2. I’m good with this. Still say the Mariners should have a 3-piece rock band in the outfield. Maybe just Fri/Sat games
