[Russini] Bengals Receiving Calls From Several Teams About Three Players

  1. Varying calls from 9ers, Colts, Eagles, Lions, and Rams regarding the following:

    Logan Wilson, CTB, and Trey

    Saved you a click

  2. At this point in the season, shop em. Get value back, start a complete rebuild of the defense.

Trey either has the best years behind him or needs a developed edge on the other side to be effective. CTB can be good but he’s not good enough to build around. Logan, as much as I love him, isn’t good in coverage and is easily swallowed by run blocking

  3. Just remember that the Bengals want to win the trades by a longshot, so don’t be surprised if they decide to pass on a fair compensation

  4. The Bengals should trade anything and everything they can on the defensive side of the ball. There’s absolutely no argument to hang onto any ā€œcoreā€ here – it’s the clear cut worst defense in the NFL and has been since the start of the prior season.

The only sensible thing to do is to blow it up. They tried to move pieces around between mostly new coaching on that side of the ball, moving on from a few pieces (Pratt, Hubbard, Bell, Hilton), and holding onto key players like Trey. But it’s still awful.

Trade everyone they can beside DJ Turner, accumulate as many draft picks as possible and turn those into packages for proven talents and sign proven talent in FA. They’ve shown they can’t evaluate talent, draft, or develop at all, so they need to acquire actual pieces externally.

  5. I’d trade anything not named Ja’Marr for capital and try to reset for a 2 year run in 27-28.

  6. I doubt they all go, but why not see what you can get. I feel like we’ve already burned those bridges unfortunately. It would be a full acknowledgement that they are tanking the season though, which feels like something they rarely do.

  7. Take anything above a 6th rounder for CTB and Wilson. Take a 2nd rounder+ for Hendrickson.

  8. I can’t wait for CTB to go to the eagles and be a stud. He’s so bad on our team but I’m certain everyone who leaves will be so much better wherever they land. Just an absolute cesspool of mediocraty in Cincinnati. I don’t know why people get here and just stagnate and disappoint

  9. One wants out, one is washed, and one is prob gone next year anyways. Do it Duke, it may actually save your job

  10. The price tag is WAY too high to tag Trey. Trade him now to a contender and hopefully get a second round pick for him, though a third seems more likely. The other two, get what they can for those two.

  11. It’s pretty hilarious that our defense is this bad yet other teams are interested in three of our players
