Is this the WEIRDEST baseball game in history? ๐Ÿค”

Do you want to hear about one of the quirkier games in baseball history? Stop scrolling. Let me tell you all about it. The Mets once hit a walk-off home run at Yankee Stadium. Yes, really. Here’s how. It happened during one of the most memorable seasons of sports that we can all remember the summer of 2020. Due to co protocols, the Mets actually had to play a home game at Yankee Stadium. Now, it was a double header. So, game one was a Yankees home game, which made sense. But due to a rain out, game two was actually a Mets home game. Now, at that time, instead of going all the way back to Queens where you’re going to have to retest, re-quarantine, and everything that comes with it, why not just stay exactly where you are and play that game in the Bronx? So, that’s what they did. Another weird thing about that game, it was actually Jackie Robinson day. So, for this home game, the Mets had to wear their road uniforms because they were the only ones they had with 42 on the back. But now to the game. August 28th, 2020. The bottom of the seventh inning, which remember 2020 double headers were only seven innings. Crazy times. The Mets were trailing three to2. The first batter of the inning gets on and up to the plate is Amed Rosario. A Met never known for hitting home runs. But what does he do? He smacks a ball over the left field fence into the empty seats because there were no fans. And the Mets hit a walk-off home run at Yankee Stadium. Wild.
