Lightning Host The Stars & Will Honor Nikita Kucherov

On today’s Daily Strike, the Lightning are looking for their fourth straight win as they host the Stars in honor Nikita Cooer. This is the latest news and notes on the Tampa Bay Lightning for Thursday, October 30th, 2025. I’m Steve Ursnik. The Lighting had the day off on Wednesday after their 5-2 win in Nashville on Tuesday night. They welcomed the Stars to town for the first of two meetings this season. Last year, the Bolts went 1-1 verse Dallas. The Lightning have won the last three games which began at the time Zimus Gurgensson’s returned to the lineup. He talked about missing that time. No. Yeah. anytime you’re out uh you’re missing it, you want to be there uh with the boys, whatever it’s uh losing or winning, you want to be out there, you know, and helping. And uh it’s just uh been nice that uh we got back and we’ve been winning, so it’s been a little bit nicer. The Lightning will be looking to get out to a fast start tonight. They’ve scored 11 goals in the first period this season, tied for the third most in the NHL. Charl Edward Dstw scored his first goal on Tuesday night. He became the 17th player in franchise history to have his first NHL goal be a gamewinner. The last to do it was a Mil Liberg last April. Dest says he’s feeling comfortable. I think the since game one uh if you look like game one, two, game three, I’m already played I only played three games, but I think every game just got better and uh I feel like I I I I deserve to be here and I can easily play with everyone in this league. So uh I think uh yeah, I’m just getting better and better like every every every night and so yeah. I think it’s just getting easier for me. Johnny Gourd had an assist Tuesday night, giving him 350 points for his career. That is the fifth most by any active undrafted player. Anthony Celli is up to 301 points in his career. That passes Brian Bradley for 12th place all time in franchise scoring. He has 60 points from Tyler Johnson for 11th place. Lightning forward Pontis Holberg had two assists on Tuesday night for his second multi-point game of the season. He now has five points in 10 games during his first season as a Bolt. The Lightning have reassigned forward Scott Sabin to the Syracuse Crunch. He has now served his four-game suspension resulting from his actions in the Bolt’s final preseason game versus the Panthers. The Lightning do have an open roster spot. We’ll see if Ax Croer is ready to make his return to the lineup. He’s going to go down as one of the greatest, if not the greatest player to play in this organization. And and uh you know, he’s got a lot of runway left in him, but he uh I mean thousand points you and you’re doing in what was 800 809 games. It’s a lot of points and not a lot of time.
