for everyone complaining about having to watch JB for a season

Those who have watched him, know how great a player he is. For me, unpopular opinion but he deservedly won the FMVP over Tatum as well.
“Can’t drive left” and other naysayers never tried to even see his game critically.
He’s been outstanding through 5 games. Super high efficiency. White and Pritchard have both struggled in their roles and are declining assets. Jaylen has almost single-handedly ruined our early season tank job. It’s impressive.
Celtics fans complaining about watching JAYLEN BROWN after 9+ seasons just need to find a new team to watch frankly. Don’t even deserve the right to fill out an apology form.
Jaylen Brown is the one guy that make me doubt impact metrics. They’ve never liked him, but he’s always won. He’s a 2-way player and he’s no doubt one of the best wings in the league, but impact metrics have always been like “meh”
ownership should fill that out. we can compete with the best of the very weak East and who knows what happens in the payoffs? Just bullshit to throw a year away when your stars want to compete
“First ballot HOF” is a crazy statement man
Jaylen’s mid-range jumper is a league best. He has evolved his game beautifully these last few seasons from relying on explosive power to footwork-driven finesse.
“Mercury was in retrograde” gets me every single time
😂🤣😂
I don’t know. Maybe we are frustrated that a 9 year vet still dribbles the ball off of his feet constantly, and turns the ball over in the most ridiculous ways? I like JB, but his flaws are hard to watch sometimes. Somedays you watch him in awe because he’s spectacular! Somedays you watch him in awe out of confusion of how an NBA player could make such a sloppy play
I really don’t hate Jaylen Brown but this season is his time to take charge. Defenses will clamp down on him but having more than 4 TOs or dribbling into traffic isn’t it.
I’ll fill out the form if he does it for 40 games. If he’s actually one of the more consistent high-volume scorers at that point then we’re in great shape as a franchise.
Got to have more of a sample size. Derrick White isn’t going to shoot like Jordan Walsh and the Bulls aren’t going to run over playoff teams all year lol
Who was complaining? It’s been all love in my world.
a lot of tatum stans just don’t like brown much for whatever reason. he’s doing what i expected of him
I fundamentally don’t understand anyone who doesn’t want to watch Jaylen. He and White are essentially the only two reasons I’m watching this season at all.
My only regret is that, in a season where Jaylen is getting what some suspect he wants —the chance to be the true no.1– his wish curled the monkey paw, and they took Porzingis, Horford, and Jrue away from him, leaving jaylen with White (who is great!) and a G-league squad (which isn’t!).
Oh well. I’m enjoying Jaylen and White, at least.
Let’s be real, first two boxes in the second column are getting a lot of checkmarks
Just watch, what Jaylen is going to learn about being a ball handler this season is going to be key to the inevitable banner 20.
The funny thing is that he’s playing the exact same way as he usually does except the shots are going in.
Make all the complainers play the coaching staff.
He definitely doesn’t deserve hate, but we can’t just be revisionist about the amount of times he’s come up short when it mattered when he’s finally NOT coming up short when it matters.
I hope he continues to prove anyone who’s doubted him wrong, I hope he shows he’s a true #1 option if his name gets called, but myself and others are just saying we haven’t seen him do that in the past…
All this time I have not seen a single person complaining about having to watch Jaylen Brown
Who was complaining about watching JB? Us fans love JB. I think he’s overpaid (though understandable how he got that contract) and the debate about him or JT is absurd. The team is way worse and probably around .500 this year. But I’m not mad to watch him try and lead the team through this year, I’m excited to see what he can really do unchained.
Didn’t like his hairstyle. Lol. Rub me the wrong way.
We would be successful had we not blown shit up, and truly let the offense go thru JB.
Dying on that hill
Jaylen is frustrating to watch, I love the Celtics. Two things can be true
(I’m not a doomer like yall don’t yell at me this is my first comment in the sub since last year lol)
Lol.. This is gold!
Are there actually fans complaining about having the 2024 nba finals mvp on the team?
I know there are some people who think he’s overrated but at this point for every comment criticizing JB, I think I see 10 comments propping up this weird straw man. I’m pretty sure JB has unanimous approval rating at this point, of course every fan base will have a small negative portion but this isn’t a big debate…
Nobody who actually watches the games has ever disrespected JB.
Listen, I love Brown and want him to be a Celtic for life. But he isn’t the alpha. He makes too many avoidable mistakes in clutch times. Just last night in the last two minutes: missed free throw, offensive foul, turnover.
People saying other stars make those mistakes, they sure do. But maybe one of them in that timeframe, not three.
JB has been my favorite Celtic since the day he was drafted. The “he’s too smart and may get bored with basketball” sold me that he can be great.
Don’t get me wrong. Tatum is amazing as well. I just like the mentality JB brings.
I kinda like him getting a chance to lead this team. He’s gonna prove a lot of doubters wrong.
No one needs to apologize to Jaylen brown for anything until he cleans up those god awful handles
a lot of y’all gotta fill this out 😭
The real ones always knew👏🏽
Analytics is dumb, you can win without it because there is more then numbers to sports. Like if a guy is a 30 percent 3 point shooter and only shoots when people on his team can rebound, then he could be more valuable to then a player who shoots 35 percent but shoots mostly when none of his teammates are in spots to rebound.
The issue this season hasn’t ever been Jaylen. It’s been White and Prichard’s wretched shooting. Everyone else has been okay. The bed lineup decisions of starting Hugo one game. Playing X more than 5 minutes total. Those have been kinda sorted. Hugo off the bench for 15 minutes a game is about right. I think with the new rotations and if White and Prichard relearn to shoot we will be fine. Prichard was better yesterday not shooting too many 3’s and scoring other ways.
Making fun of using advanced stats to gauge how a player is performing during a 6 game stretch where advanced stats love him is not the argument you appear to think it is.
I have been waiting 9 seasons for Jaylen Brown to become a more efficient player. He has had a great start to the season and has been very efficient, shooting an unsustainable 49% from three and 66% true.
It is a tiny sample. He has had many similar stretches in the past. If he finishes the year shooting over 60% true it will be his most efficient scoring season and the first time in his career he has been what one can call an efficient scorer. Everyone knows he has the talent to do it but he is streaky, has terrible shot selection, and to date, never has.
If he keeps it up then it’s not an argument against advance stats. It just means Jaylen will have finally had an efficient season (scoring wise) in the NBA in year 10.
Thanks for the mercury retrograde love, btw
OK, fine. I fucked up. But come on now; he didn’t look that great last year. And he’s like 29 and entering his 10th season; that’s “your best years are behind you” for most players.
How dare you judge me for judging JB
While he is crazy efficient and just killing it this season, being the primary ball handler sometimes just gives us a front row view to the fact his turnovers are just…ugly. So I think that is what makes him hard to watch, because you’re watching some of the most amazing ball and then he dribbles it off his foot or loses the handle with literally no pressure.
He’s amazing this season and his efficiency is over the top.
