But we’re getting right into this video as we talk about this prominent off season. You know, this is something where if you have been tuning into this channel, you know that it’s kind of just a broken record at this point. Brian Kman has to nail this off seasonason. This is one of the most important off seasons in recent Yankees history because we know how much we have right now in this championship window that we have with Garrett Cole and especially Aaron Judge and it seems like it is being wasted. We know that Aaron Judge is one of the best players in all of baseball. We know how much a ring would mean to Aaron Judge in his legacy as one of the phenoms and one of the icons of the MLB. We know how much that would mean to him as a Yankee because, you know, the Yankees, the legends are made in October. They’re made with Derek Jeter. They’re made with, you know, uh, Alex Rodriguez. I don’t know why I’m named Alex Rodriguez ahead of like Lou Garri and Babe Ruth, but my mind’s all jumbled today. But yeah, like Lou Garrick, Mickey Manel, Babe Ruth, Derek Jeter, like all of those guys have rings on their finger and multiple rings to show for it as being a legend in the Bronx. And we want to see that out of Aaron Judge and everybody on this Yankees team. But, you know, just looking at something that was announced today regarding Alex Bregman. And I did a video earlier on Alex Bregman and the potential of him coming to the Bronx to help out with this New York Yankees team, especially at third base. But we learned a little bit more on Alex Brigman and the potential of him coming to the Bronx. MLB.com’s Brian Hul believes that the Yankees are not expected to target $120 million all-star third baseman Alex Brman in free agency despite third base not being one of the team strengths. And this is something that is, you know, kind of concerning because obviously this is a big need for the New York Yankees. This is a really big need. They are looking to upgrade at the third baseman spot. They right now they have Ryan McMahon at that third base spot. He’s been doing so well defensively, but when you’re looking at his offense, I mean, it’s it’s just not there. it’s not going to really connect with this Yankees team because, you know, their defense does well, but it’s like if you can’t consistently bat, it’s just not going to translate into being a good uh you good ball player. I mean, we’ve we’ve seen it with Oswald PZ. He has great defense, but if he can’t hit, you know, for anything, the Yankee fans are going to be tired of him being at bat. I mean, we already seen it with Anthony Vulpi last year. Like, you got to be able to produce and you got to be able to produce in the big moments. And you know, Bregman has been able to do that over his career. Not being able to get him into the Bronx, that would be something that’s very unfortunate. But the one thing that I’ll give it to you guys is that uh regarding Bregman, this is something where another team can swoop in and get him. I think this is important to look at. Bregman is a proven winner and has won two World Series and has never missed the playoffs in his career. Though New York does not appear interested in signing the three-time All-Star, that doesn’t mean the Red Sox are in the clear. It would be music to the ears of Yankee fans if another team swoops in and poaches Bregman in free agency. And this is important. I mean, this is something where if Alex Bregman is able to get to another team and just gets out of the American League, it would help out New York Yankee fans very much because, you know, Bregman has been a thorn in the Yankee side for years. And he’s been with the Houston Astros, been with the Boston Red Sox. We would like him to go to the National League and just be on just out of the American League and not a threat to the Yankees getting to the World Series. And I think that’s that’s something that I will be looking at in the off season. But, you know, when we’re looking at the potential fits for the New York Yankees at third base because I still think that they should go after someone. This is the free agency of third baseman’s at this point in time. When you’re looking at it, it Bregman, uh, Eugino Suarez that the Yankees were interested. I’m not sure if they would give him a big contract to be the third baseman because his defense isn’t well, but his offense is really good. you’re kind of just, you know, doing the opposite of Ryan McMahon there. You got Maxy who is on a club option right now. I think he’ll be brought back by the Los Angeles Dodgers, but I could, you know, I could be wrong there. Um, but I definitely the Dodgers would like to bring him back. Uh, Paul De Young. Uh, he’s, you know, an interesting prospect that you can look at. Yo, mana. But the one guy that I’m thinking of in this list that, you know, maybe a lot of people aren’t really looking at when you look at this list, I mean, you obviously have Gioella there, you have John Birdie. The one guy that I really would like the Yankees to go after is Kik Hernandez. And the reason why Kik Hernandez would be a big addition for the New York Yankees is his postseason stats are absolutely insane, guys. I mean, him in October is another ball player. I mean, during the regular season, like he’ll bat like in the low 200s, 212, 230. You know, you won’t get much out of him, but when October comes, it’s like he is, you know, untouchable. He gets on base, he drives in runs, and he gets the big hit. I mean, just looking at his stats from the postseason from 2019 all the way to 2025. I mean, you’re looking at the batting average, it’s insane. 429 in 2019. 2021 was obviously his best postseason in the batting average department besides 2019. 408. And you’re looking at that right now. Nine homers, 20 RBI’s. I mean, unbelievable from Kik Hernandez with the Boston Red Sox. And then he went back to the Dodgers and did well. He did well against the Yankees. We know that having a 294 batting average in 2024, 375 in 2023, and a 254 in 2025. He is an underrated piece of the Los Angeles Dodgers getting to the World Series in 2020, 2024, and 2025. A big piece in getting them to the World Series. And also Boston, they made a big run in 2021 to the American League Championship Series. And Kiki Hernandez had a big part in it. uh batting a 408. So getting a guy who already knows, you know, how like the big lights get on him in the playoffs and he’s able to shine and just do so well. That’s something I think the Yankees should really buy on and try to get in the locker room because that can be infectious. That can be infectious to the whole lineup because we know what the problem is with the New York Yankees is that their big stars, they shrivel in the postseason. I mean, Aaron Judge had a great postseason this year, but the rest of the team didn’t do well. They didn’t have the, you know, the type of attitude that they had in 2024 where they got on base, they got runs in, they hit home runs, they just were overmatched by the Blue Jays. and getting a guy like Hernandez. It’s not the all like one one player fixes all the problems, but it will help if a guy is batting 300, 400 in the postseason in his career. And having someone that you can just go with, whether he is at the number nine hole, leading off, whatever it may be, you know that he will produce in October where everything matters. And I think Kiki Hernandez would be a perfect fit for the New York Yankees team. He can play anywhere in the field. He can play first base, third base, outfield, second base, shortstop. I mean, he has all the tools to be a great utility player in this league. And if the Dodgers are not willing to resign him and they’re trying to get other players here, Kik Hernandez would be perfect in the Bronx. But before we I let you go of this video, I just want to give it out to you. What would you want the Yankees to upgrade at third or would you want the Yankees to upgrade at third base? Type Y for yes and type N for no because, you know, there there are some people who like Ryan McMahon. They like his defense. They like, you know, the potential of him getting better just, you know, playing in the Bronx. He did so well uh during, you know, the playoffs defensively, but you know, he just hasn’t been able to fit the bill offensively, but he does have another year to just get used to, you know, playing the everyday third base in the Bronx. And I think it’s interesting to see what the potential is there. Would you guys want an upgrade at third base? Are you thinking the same way with me with Kik Hernandez with the postseason success to bring him in here and help uh spark this lineup? What are you guys thinking regarding the hot corner? But that’s going to do it for another edition of Yankees Digest. Appreciate all the support you guys are giving us on this channel. We really appreciate everything. We’re on the road to 10,000 subscribers, so remember to subscribe, hit the bell so you’re notified, and let’s get a star at third base. Let’s go Yankees. And let’s get this third baseman, guys.

Alex Brooks discusses the “hot corner” position for the New York Yankees and how an upgrade is paramount to success in 2026. A recent update on a prominent 3B will have the Yankees pivot to an unlikely stud that would help tremendously.

  1. Don't trade the Martian and Jones They are our future añd they just need playing time. I would for go a ring this year for more championships in the very near future.

  2. THANKS ALEX! ENJOY YOUR CHANNEL BUDDY! CASHMAN, THIS IS MAKE OR BREAK FOR HIM I FEEL! And they need to stop wasting Judges' prime years! (I still loved watching the "Wam Bam Thank You Cam- Darth Shlitler" game last month!

  3. Alex, you seem to be a nice young man, but you're asking all the wrong questions. You can't build a roster of all-stars at every position. You need to be asking WHY the Ca$hman hasn't been able to find the pieces in the draft to build a championship roster like Stick and Watson! The NYY $$ HIDES Ca$hman's inept ability to build a long-contending roster year in and year out. Yankee fans are sick and tired of the excuses. They are one pitcher or one hitter away from winning it all. NONE SENSE! You draft and build a culture that the NYY have long stood for! As the GM, it's his job to draft the best players for the future. Now, if he did his job, the NYY wouldn't need to have a discussion on who is going to play third base! Think about it.. Its the same roster year in and year out. Feast on weak pitching and fold like lawn furniture on good pitching. And I am sure you're aware, but signing these Free agents, the NYY lose out on future draft selections! Please, you need to start asking why Cashman is still the GM and why the NYY front office is not considering other GM options who have made it to the playoffs without the $$ the NYY spend. Once you do, I am sure you're going to get a lot more followers for your podcast.
