How does this POSSIBLY keep happening to the Canucks??

You know, for a game that heading into the regular season was one of the most hyped and anticipated for this Vancouver Conucks team, I don’t think I’ve ever watched a more anticlimactic, boring game in my life. Seriously, this team, after a huge character win against the Oilers, seven players out of the lineup, cannot beat a floundering New York Rangers team that just came off a 5-1 loss to the Calgary Flames. I think that’s the most annoying part about this game is that the Rangers did not play that great to beat the Conucks. Both these teams are struggling, but the Canucks just out sucked the Rangers. Couldn’t score a goal against Jonathan Quick, their backup goalie. They fell short one- nothing with an empty net. And before you get mad at me in the comments for being negative about this team, even though they beat the Oilers the other night and came over the adversity of losing a lot of players, that’s exactly what I’m upset about. Both those things. First of all, the Canucks can’t stay healthy to save their own lives. We lose players to injury every single game. Last day it was Mancini. Then before that it’s Quinn Hughes. Tonight Connor Garland. And I’m tired of saying it’s a moral victory that they played well, but they had half their lineup out with injury. This team has a durability problem. I don’t know what it is, but their players just cannot stay in the lineup for whatever reason. And it’s stupid because you don’t see any other team that has this bad injury luck. I just can’t quite understand why this keeps happening year in year out. Are we just too soft or are we just that unlucky? I don’t know what it is. The second thing that I’m upset about is that this team cannot decide what type of team it wants to be this year in the standings. They don’t know if they want to suck. They don’t know if they want to do well because one night they’ll play great, give the fans the hope that they’re back and ready to go on a run, and then the next night they’ll lay an egg and just be allergic to scoring goals. And what does that lead to? It leads to you being stuck in the middle of the standings where you’re not going to be guaranteed a playoff spot, but you’re also not going to be bad enough to the point where you can guarantee yourself a good spot in the draft. Again, I really apologize for just going on a complete rant and being upset about this team. Because trust me, I’ll say it again. I understand this team has nine regulars out with injury, but that’s the problem, guys. We’re 11 games into the season and we’re almost averaging a player getting injured every single night. I understand feeling sorry for the players, but that’s genuinely almost unheard of. And it sucks because the connects have been in this position before where they’ve been doing well and the team around them has looked very good, but injuries have happened and we’ve lost our star goalender or our star defenseman in key situations, playoff runs, and then it becomes the what if game of if they were healthy, would we have won the series? But the truth is, winning doesn’t really care if they were healthy, if they were this, if they were that, because everyone gets hurt. It’s the same game you’re playing out there. But the teams that want the most, and the teams that show up to play usually end up winning, and that’s just the way that the game works. I don’t know. I think I’ve apologized maybe two, three times already in this video. I’ll do it once again for being so harsh on this team, but it’s just the same stuff. And the moral victories aren’t really doing it for me anymore. end of the day, you want consistent results, and that just isn’t possible when you have nine regulars out of your lineup. Not to take anything away from the guys that did play today. I thought they played decently. It just sucks that this is the circumstance of the team right now because I do think that fully healthy, they can be good. But the problem is they haven’t been fully healthy for 2 years now, aging back to last season. Anyways, enough of the rant. Tonight was JT Miller’s homecoming game. His first time back in Rogers Arena since getting traded. They had a tribute for him. I still like Miller as a player. No problem with him. I’m glad they gave him a standing ovation because I do think he deserves it. He was a very good conduct for a long time and I personally miss him for sure. First of all, he is a very durable player. But beyond just that, he’s a very smart and skilled player on the ice. He didn’t get on the board in this one. Mika Zenad scored the lone goal for the Rangers at five on five. Lucas Reichel was a standout for me for the Vancouver Conucks. He played very well. Continues to get chances but cannot find the back of the net. I’m telling you, it’s coming. At least he is getting to the right places and getting himself in positions to score. I am willing to be patient with this player, though he has a lot of promise and potential. Still just 23 years old. I have really liked what I’ve seen from Riel so far. Tom Vander also made his NHL debut tonight. He looked pretty solid. I thought he was actually pretty good with the puck. They even had him out there in the six on five at the end of the game, which was a little bit of a questionable decision when he was out there over Heronic, but still, I like Tom Vander, 11th overall pick, and he’s going to be a very good player in the years to come. But yeah, not much else to say in this one. There were no goals scored by the Vancouver Conucks, so I don’t really have much to really commentate over. Marcus Person got into a fight that was pretty cool. But that was about it. Anyways, thank you so much for watching. Give me your thoughts on this team in general in the comment section down below. Subscribe if you’re new. Peace out and take care.

The Vancouver Canucks lose 2-0 in JT Millers return with the New York Rangers. Canucks keep getting injuries and it’s costing them the ability to be consistent.

  1. We need to get rid of Drew O’Conner. Every time he touches the puck he coughs it up or at best shoots wide to the net. Total pylon and squanders the hard work of his linemates.

  2. On paper they have three very good talents but the rest just slot in as average NHLers. Too many missed shots, posts and injuries. Pretty soon we will have the entire Abbotsford Canucks up playing.

  3. The Canucks have set a new record of Injuries in the NHL.
    They have 12.
    1. Blueger
    2. Hughes
    3. Chytil
    4. Garland
    5. Lekkerimaki
    6. Forebert
    7. Brisebois
    8. Woo
    9. Mueler
    10. Tolopilo
    11. Mancini
    12. Hoglander

So I'll take the moral victory, and I have been enjoying the hockey this season.
Rangers are a great team who can beat anyone.
We held them to 1-0 for the entire game.
Our Abbotsford Team has complete no names now playing for it.

I'm looking forward to the culmination effect; when these injuries end, and our roster returns, I think we will do what abbotsford did last season and go on an epic run towards the playoffs, and I am confident they will make it.

  4. Rick 'coach of the year' tochett and american puke JT miller destroyed this franchise. Both couldn't handle the fact that russians are stud players and superior to american talent. Sure could use kuzmenko and podgoalzin right now.

  5. The Canucks no doubt have a durability issue with so many other players out at once due to injuries. That game against the Rangers was close, but with the goal scoring just not there.

  6. There was lots of chances but they need some muscle or at least someone that can score and not be worried about injury, but I get it, being a Canucks fan is basically complaining 90% of the time, starting to hate fans more then players.

  7. I don’t think you are being negative about the team. Sounds like you are just being negative about the situation surrounding the team. And that is completely fair/justified.

  8. I want Kane and O’Connor gone. Kane for many MANY obvious reasons. O’Connor because he’s just not doing anything here despite being a decent player. He’s good, but he can’t seem to be good here. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  9. come on people…what do you expect? They just came off a 5 game eastern road trip in 8 days…..then they fly all the way home and have to play 3 games in 4 nights….players are getting injured because they are getting too tired. Another wasted season because they want the Olympics. We are going to witness weird scores all season long because of schedules being ridiculous. How can a team put up standard performances when the schedule is not standard by any means?

  10. I know what will fix it ….. Lets trade everyone for injury prone players and picks in 2062. If you took every player thats been dumped or wasnt able to negotiate a way to stay since Kuzmenko and put them all on a team , they would be a better contender. Hughes is a beast , but he cant do it with the pieces theyve handed him. Kane is soft , Petterson is a marshmallow , Demko is one amazing save away from over extending his leg and being out for another season. Chytil is done. Hughes himself is getting beat up trying to make it work. They should have done whatever they could to keep Zedorov , Kept Kuzmenko , Traded Petterson over Miller and a long list of other guys but they didnt , because not getting into the final wasnt good enough and they had to rip the whole thing apart and re structure instead of working with what they had and making some minor adjustments. That heater season we had WAS the team we've wanted for years and they pulled it apart and put it back together with dollar store glue. Be prepared for another 3-5 years of not seeing the playoffs.

  11. There are only 16 other teams with fans bitching about the same sorts of problems. The sign of merely average to below average teams is the lack of consistent play, and allowing other teams to impose their will some nights. Yes the injury situation is extreme at the moment, but it’s not a unique problem in the the NHL if you look around the league.

The Canucks are actually better in some games than what I would expect with their key injuries. Maybe try to be realistic. In the longer term, this team needs more deterrent for players taking liberties against their star players. It was only three years ago that the Canucks had significant deterrence in the lineup, and that was sacrificed to accommodate other contracts. If you want to blame anyone, look at management. They took a top team and made it into the mess we now see in only a couple seasons. They took some gambles and they lost on some of their wagers. Same as it ever was…..

  12. Karlsson and Demko best players tonight. Willander was little nervous but his game got better especially on the PP, his decisions are quick and crisp passing.

  13. Well with all the injuries that's happening and having a new coach I feel like they're doing pretty well.if we had all the starters and they played like this then we can talk s*** about them .but if you think about it we're not last

  14. Don't blame bad luck, it's just feeling sorry for yourself. You largely make your own luck. This team largely keeps getting the same results. Players, coaches, front-office personnel come and go. Always unlucky. What's the constant? Bad owners. The answer is right in front of you. If you don't want to be miserable, vote with your feet and root for a different team.
