Full Highlights | Maple Leafs vs. Flyers – Nov 1, 2025 (w/Joe Bowen)
[Music] The Leafs are on the road as they tangle with the Flyers in Philadelphia trying to write the ship that is uh not leaking yet, but it is listing a little bit. The Leafs will defend the goal to the left. The puck is dropped and we are underway, but the Flyers get it out into the center ice area and they’ll backhand it in over the line with Travis Kknney getting it down into the corner. Centering pass in front. They score right off the turnover. Christian D’vorak opens the scoring early here against the Maple Leafs 109 into the first period. Going to talk about defense again. This is just dumped in. York got it ahead and Brink will bring it to center ice now for Philadelphia on the left wing. Cuts to the right wing side in with a shot. Blocker away into the near corner and Cavaris is able to come up with it. Long lead pass up ahead for Doi. Doy on the left wing side closes with a shot and it deflected just wide of the Flyer goal here. The Leafs down low in the offensive zone. Matthews out with a shot and that went off Lar. He had no idea where it went. Now one of the Flyers is down and hurt. Pass into the slot area. Matthews again scores. Austin Matthews on a turnover in the zone. But some good cycling done by the Leafs and the Leafs have tied the game at one. Okay, the flyer that went down, Joe. That allowed Matthews a little time and space in the slot. Plays it on the backand back into the corner. Blade trying to work it out of the corner to get it back in the net. Yarn crook has it there in front for Dhoni. He got a piece of it as he tried to send it to the net. Philadelphia fires both his player and a coach. Yeah. Cam York a pass and that deflected just wide of the Toronto goal. Into the far corner it goes. Leafs with a hit there by Blle as he kind of threw a flying elbow at the Flyer. The puck comes in front of the net. Shot from a sharp angle. Stopped by Stallars. A Leaf has broken his stick. Boy Blé threw an elbow here, didn’t he? Well, shoulder to shoulder, I would guess. Elbow to shoulder on half, but they get it out now. And across the line, D’vorak dropping it back. Uh pass into the corner broken up there by Riley, but a penalty coming to Well, the Flyers have the puck, but was it when Riley touched it that the whistle went kept in now by Tvaris and Riley to Matthews? Matthews into the corner and the one-time. Tavvaris gets into the zone, works into the slot area down low. A one-timer from Matthews from an angle was stopped. It comes back to the point. Riley’s shot is wide. Matthew centers backhand try went wide played back to the blue line Oliver Ecman Lararsson shot off a body and goes up into the screen and out of play and that went off of Cali Yarn who’s down on all fours in the faceoff circle and now Taris kicks it into the Flyer zone. Now we got all kinds of people trying to get off the bench and on the bench and I think the Leafs have just been called for too many men on the ice onto the near side working down the boards of Ziggris. Ziggris to the shot with a shot right on that big scramble. That puck went right through the blue paint. Flyers with it again. Hit it back to the blue line. One-time coming. Shot at the goal post down is Stallars and he’s managed to keep it out. Well, this is a one-timer for the right wing circle. I don’t know if this is redirected. Nope. Comes back to the point. Try has difficulties with it. Puck is in the slot area and a shot is swallowed up there by Stallars. Drops it back to his defense partner. A long up on the left wing for Doby. Curling it on the right side. Oh, and Yarn Crook was set up by Max, but he shot it wide. Cowen is able to free it up. Leafs get it back along the boards and Bobby McMahon will get it to center and a nice pass brings Cowan. Cowan in with a shot off the shoulder or maybe the mask of Lar. It comes back to the blue line kept alive by East Cowan on the wing it goes and a rush shot up by Tavaris is stopped by Vladar. Back of the net. Machelli gets it back to the point shot coming. It was redirected in front but slowed up appreciably by Dakota Joshua so that there was no scoring opportunity. Another shot. scores from the point. A seeing eye wrist shot. Jake McKay, I believe, let it go and it finds the back of the net. The Leafs with a 2-1 lead. Second goal of the season for Jake McCabe. His first one, Joe, was similar. It was against Nashville. A wrist shot that floated for the left point. Matthews working it back to the point. Wrist shot coming, but it was deflected well wide. Robertson again. Centers Matthews is in. Oh, and he trickled it through the goal crease just wide on the road yet. Oh, yeah. Two nothing Detroit. Oh, Detroit. Exactly. Yep. There. The Flyers in. Back hand high over top of the goal. Doi gives the puck away. It comes in front of the net again, but a good back check by Yarn. Denied the opportunity, but a penalty is coming here. Here are the Flyers with it now along the far boards and into the corner. Round back of the net. Centered it in front. Tip of the shot and he wired it high off the glass, but it doesn’t clear. Quickly enough to make a play. Kavirus has been on a long time as well. Robertson at the point. Long shot. Stop. Pad save. Brilliant save made there by the left pad of Anthony Stolars. Dropping it back for Sandheim. Sanheim’s pass blocked. Pavaris needs to get it out and he will. One of the fresher players is Ny now to Robertson who scores. Nikki Robertson. His tongue had to be almost on the ice from that long ship but he stayed on and Matthew Nye sets him up. The Leafs with a twogoal lead. Robertson’s second of the season and the Leafs withstand a barrage at the other end. knocked that down. Now looking for reinforcements as they come off the bench to Matthews closing off the shoulder of LAR and it grazes the goal post as well. Matthews a center pass and a wrist shot goes high over top of the goal. That was stopped off the stick of Bobby McMahon. McMahon trying to keep the puck in and does. Tavvarus is in and he shot it just wide looking for goal. 501 still with it then tried to pass it in front of the net. It was blocked. It comes in front and the horn will go before Machelli could get a shot away. Benois. Yeah, Benois was a little late getting that away and the Flyers are upset at it. Played to center ice. Leaf poke it down in over the line. A centering pass now for Cowan. Scores. [Applause] Eastston Cowan has his first goal in the National Hockey League and the Maple Leafs have a 4-1 lead. The youngster from just around Sarnia has banged in number one in his career. Chance off the rush and Eastston Cowan can’t erase the smile from his face as he continues to look up to make sure with the video evidence that the puck is in fact in. But this is a snapshot and it’s set up by John Tvaris. Kind of bounced around from different lines but has certainly been able to find his niche here as we’re going to get a penalty maybe for high sticking. Pippet back of the net. Centering pass broken up and out at center come the Leafs with a two-on-one in on the left wing going to McMahon and that is swallowed up by Alexe Kolasovv as the Flyers get it out at center ice to the Toronto blue line. A bouncing puck in front and a wrist shot taken by GE was swallowed up there by Stallards and now we’ve got Hathaway trying to get things stirred up. He and Tanniv are in a bit of a headlock with one another. Uh point shot knocked down goes into the net, but the whistle had long gone. Yeah, they’re saying a high stick made contact with it. And Joe, this isn’t reviewable because the official blew the whistle right away. Ables, I believe, got his stick up. They’re discussing it, but I I don’t you know, when you blow the whistle, I don’t believe it’s revealable. Right. Play’s dead. Supposed to be with 1258 to play here in the third period. The Leafs leading four to one. They get another turnover. Here’s Matthews shooting from a sharp angle. Puck comes in front of the net and it’s knocked away by Kolasov. Cowan denies icing by hustling after it. A big hit in the corner. Straightened out to Julesen with a pretty good hit. And now we get a leaf down. Is that Robertson down or is that Tanov down? McCabe is taking up the behalf. Chris Tanov. It’s Chris Tanov who’s been hurt. [Music] Oh, from behind. Really was kind of a He may have a head snap, right? Whiplash. I was just thinking like a whiplash thing. Yeah, but So, it wasn’t It wasn’t a head shot. His eyes are open. He’s uh wetting his lips as he goes off. A little thumbs up. Brought back by Philadelphia. Sandheim in over the line on the right wing side. A shot is swallowed up by Stallars, but I think a high sticking call is coming to the Maple Leafs here. Leafs don’t get the puck out initially. Tavvarus had it blocked and a long shot is caught by the Leaf Goender and then halfway and McMahon gets shoving a little bit. Fended off. It comes back to the point. Bouncing puck in on goal. Knocked down. Stallard standing tall there to block it as it goes into the corner. Penalty coming here against Toronto, but they’re down a man here with the goal empty here as now. It’s finally touched enough by Brandon Carlo. And he gives Mitchov a bit of a shot. And Mitchkov is going to get a little extra attention here by the Maple Leafs. Back into neutral ice. Now the Flyers get it across the line into the slot area. Zegris with a shot and they score. Played off on the wing and Tyson Forester I believe gets this away and Forester has cut the lead in half. It’s four to two. Puck along the boards is chopped at and sent into the corner. Another penalty coming here. And we’ve got a collision in the corner. Forester is in there. So is Zegris. Dolars has got a hold of Zegress and has pulled him back and now has his arm around him. Oh boy, it’s Oh, even this one. I mean, this is a shove. And then what he gets back is that Forster that drills. Yep. Still with it down into the corner it goes. centering pass into the Gold Crease area. They bang away at it and a good play made there by the Leafs in front of the net is Forester looking for a rebound. A shot and I think that Stlar’s got a piece of that one. Leafs get the puck free. Yard Crook looking at an empty net to center ice. He’ll shoot it into the goal and unfortunately Chris Tanniv was also a very large part of that. There’s the horn that ends the third period. And Dolars is out giving a shot to one of the Flyers. And Benois got another one behind. But the Maple Leafs are a winner.

Good to see the Leafs getting rough for once.
Man that hit from behind that’s Career ending if I ever saw one
The man thing is I hope Chris Tanev gets well in himself. All the best Chris in a speedy recovery!
Thank you, J! GO LEAFS GO!!!
Not Tanev!!! Come on, hockey gods! WTF!?
We're going to miss that voice. Cheers Joe.
what a shot by matthews
Tanev going down like that was really scary. Wishing him the best. Not sure what the Leafs can do here at this point wrt defense. Reilly is all over the place and they really need Tanev. People are going to have to step up.
Stolarz looks mostly quite good tonight though. Issues tracking a couple pucks but he got it done.
Congrats Easton! Plenty more where that came from.
Tanev was playing hurt no dought
Commentatorr excited game after game, but they all know how its going to end…they earn their money and dont care about your yearly deceipt , lmao !
Cowan’ a first goal gave me flashbacks of Nik Kulemin. Man I miss that guy.
Toronto cant beat ''Ballard Jinx'' no mater the amount of of money…sore souls .
Cup building blocks for the foundation of greatness 👽
Oh wow, they won 5-2 against Flyers, they must be Stanley cup contenders…fill the seats, bring the dough…suckers !
This is rough eh? NOthing like it used to be. Glad to see Cowan score.
Well we can't have everything, hopefully the leafs pick up where the jays left off
K but f sports
I guess power has shifted from the Blue Jays, back to the Leafs finally. At least until playoff season.
Joe and Ralphie are the best! Bring them back to the TV broadcast!
He's fine.
Cowan first goal…. but at what cost
Tanev is such a gem – wish'd he'd never left the 'nucks -injury somewhat fortunate – lucky he lost no more chicklets
Jays lose the WS. Now it's GO LEAFS GO!!!
I guess this is a little dopamine hit that would help deal with the jays loss… great job boys.
Cowen set up by Tavares is fitting, passing the torch
Looks like whip lash hope you are okay Chris!
Ffs Tanev only just came back from being out 🙄🤦♂️😤
sadly the jays lost, 32 years and counting. Hoping like the other night, the jays and leafs would have won.
Bonsie, "he's wetting his lips."😂 what a line, it was a beauty for sure. Cowan pops the cherry 🍒 and many more to come, I think this kid is an NHL player, he's going to be a good one!
Congrats to our 51st state, canaduh.
How to didnt Flyers forester get called for a penalty at the end they call a soft boarding on the leafs but not a cross check to the back of the head 🤔🙄🤷♂️🤦♂️ deserved a refs u suck chant for that😏
Great upload I've been following since I found you folks last year. Thanks a lot. Tanev is going to be fine, that's from the team 🍻
The smile on Tavares’ face when he was celebrating Cowan’s first goal says everything you need to know about Johnny Toronto. He was elated for Cowan’s first NHL goal. What a leader!
11:37 Since when did retaliation, 2nd man in, not get a penalty. Forrester was brutal there.
dirty shot on Tanev . hope he is going to be fine
At least the Leafs won, Toronto…..
был тут точно
That punk Michkov better be suspended for that cheap gooning of Tanev. And why is Garnet Hathaway in the league? Absolute cement head. Looks like just a matter of time till Stolarz drops the mitts with someone and goes Ron Hextall.
Cheers LeafsJellyHD 🍺
Great First Goal for Cowan,Nice Assist JT.
Epic on the Ear to Ear Grins,on them Both 👍 !!
Best part is Joe Bowen and Jim Ralph Calling it 🍺🍺!!
Leafs needed to sacrifice tn for the JAYS. Knew the second I seen the score the jays were losing. Please god let the leafs go on a generational run, beat the panthers in rnd 1 or two and cruise to the finals to lift lord Stanley. I need to hear Bo & Ralphie make THE CALL
Ever since the Flyers came into the league they have been dirty cheap shot thugs and time has not improved them at all. I still hold a grudge from what they did to Orr and anyone else that out classed them in the old days.
Is it just against The Leafs or do the refs think there might be a call against them and they call it. Perfect example in the 3rd the Leafs get a boarding call against them and the Leaf player gets boarded worse than the flyer player and no call and good to see when the flyers do not make the playoffs thier acting careers are doing good.
yes! i love Stolarz being so chippy out there, hes takingthe bull by the horns.
I love how feisty Stolarz can get. Didn’t see that from Joshua or Roy tonight, but we got a good goalie there 😊
Hathaway is such a clown 🤡
My wife (who looks like Danny DeVito) was at that leafs game. She said the Tanev hit looked worse in person than it did on the replay. I hope Tanev makes a full revovery. Scary to be pulled off ice on a stretcher.
Wat appan to nilleande
There’s going to be bad blood between these teams for the whole season
