Best Line in Hockey! – Winnipeg Jets Top Line Absolutely Dominating!
What’s going on everybody? Welcome back to another video here on Peg City Hockey. And today we’re going to be talking about your Winnipeg Jets and the recent tear they’ve been on to start this year. And I know it’s not as near as incredible as what they accomplished at the start of last year with that incredible win streak, setting the all-time record for wins, you know, in the first 18 games of the season. The Jets played a fantastic start to the year. It’s part of the reason why they were able to get in on the President’s Trophy race so early and maintain that and wind up winning it. Obviously, and when you look at the standings this year, the Jets are having a great great start. They’re third in the NHL right now. They’re right up there uh chasing the presence trophy yet again. And in the most recent match up against the Pittsburgh Penguins, you know, who are on top of the league, it was a very, very important matchup for this club because they were really going up against a hot team to start this year. And it was important to judge, you know, how the Jets go up against the top team in the NHL to start early in this year. A very big test for this club, especially on home ice. And they absolutely delivered. This team was absolutely dominant and they go on to end up having an incredible game and win 6-2. Uh this was everything that the Jets need to do tonight. The top line again continu continuing to dominate. Nomesticov continuing to have a super super hot start. Uh it’s everything that you want to see for the Jets playing right now, especially where they are with the injuries, you know, to start this year. You’re missing, you’re missing Sam, you’re missing Lowry. And you know, to have the Jets being at the top of the standings going into this year so far this early on, it’s very, very important. And that last game against Pittsburgh showed because everyone that’s been playing hot to start this year discontinued and that top line is just incredible and playing the best hockey that you know they’ve played you know consist I I think you know going back to even last year like they just look so hot right now and if and everything on that line is clicking and you know it started off a little slow this year you know because Valardi was a little slow but you know you look at that game in Chicago you look at the game tonight nine points in that game Chicago combined and you look at the fact that all three of the guys in the Jets top line have been locked up by Chevy in management you know for the foreseeable future that is very important to the success this Jets club wants to achieve you know going into the postseason and chasing that you know Stanley Cup finals appearance and you know all of that is really important if you want to have success and locking up the core at those affordable contracts uh I think are a key part of that and then getting when you look at the top scoring for this team right depth everywhere you know Logan Stanley even having his best start to a year in his career uh you know Jonathan Tay having a really good start to uh to coming back his comeback and you know the top line just absolutely dominating 15 points so far for Kyle Connor in 11 games. Off to an incredible start. Uh he’s just really playing hockey and heating up as of late and also just you know really again developing his passing ability which is great. You know, we already know what Kyle Con can do offensively and we know how good of an overall player he is. But, you know, watching him not only be able to score goals uh at such crazy angles at such crazy high speeds, but also, you know, the passing plays that he’s able to do, finding Shaley, finding Valardi, you know, Shaley is the best passer on that line without a doubt. But Kyle Connor is so silky and is able to find these guys on such great back door drop passes and is having a great start to this year. But again, that that’s not new. Kyle Connor is one of the best players in the NHL, one of the best left wingers in the NHL. So that is accept expected, you know. Again, the same thing goes for all these guys in this line. Like I would match up the Jets top line against any top line in the NHL right now. I think they’re playing some of the best hockey in the league and they are just incredibly hot to start this year. You know, in every match up the Jets top line has been present and has looked deadly and they just go out there and they do their stuff and they do it so well that it just looks so easy for them. They find each other in these incredible passes. they always know where they’re going to move and you know you get that’s what you get when you have a guy like Sha Connor who have played together for so long and then you bring in a guy like Valardi who’s really been looking for a stable home you know to start his real NHL off career because you know battling injuries in LA and just never really getting that top top look uh you know he’s excelled in Winnipeg and just found immense chemistry with Shifley and Connor and this line has just clicked uh and it just is so important to the success that the Winnipeg Jets have the last couple of years and I think will continue to have for the foreseeable future. this this top line is just so dominant and you know you’re see like but you could potentially even make the case for Valardi with the way he’s playing right now as an Olympic option you know will he make it no but you can definitely throw him into that conversation as extras to start this year on how well he’s playing and for the guy that we should be all talking about making his first real appearance to the world stage again since you know the World Cup of back in what 2018 or whatever 2016 however long ago it was is Mark Shifley I think he’s going to make this team Canada roster this year I think he was snubbed last year for the Ford nations and I think he has something to prove and he has absolutely been doing that to start this year. He’s playing some of the hottest hockey of his career. 20 points in 12 games. He is on an absolute tear. Like I said, some this is some of the best Shlee that we’ve seen in his career. Uh not going to lie, like I really think that this could be the year that really cementss him as one of the best centers in the NHL. He’s been one of the most underrated for a long time. But if he can stay healthy and this top line continues to dominate, you might see a 100 point season from Mark Shley as well as 100 point season potentially from Kyle Connor. I don’t think that is crazy to say if they continue this pace that they are on. They are playing incredible hockey and like I said, they are the heart and soul of this Jets club with guys like Lowry gone with Perfetti gone. You’re going to have, you know, constant shuffling. Ayafal has been thrown in there at times. You’ve had Nemesis thrown in there. Chibberov, Brad Lambert, uh the Jets top six has been Nino Rider even at times if I’m not mistaken, right? Like you could go on and on about the guys that have been thrown in there, them trying to shake things up, but that top line has remained consistent and is the driving force of a lot of these Jets wins. I know the depth have scored and showed up clutch at times. No need rider has been great. Uh and I’m not taking away anything from the depth, but they find the success off of the backs of that first line. And when that first line even has some nights where they look a little off, you know, that’s when the depth does step up and you know scores those necessary goals the team needs to win. Uh and and again that that’s just hockey, right? Like that’s the importance of having depth compared to other sports. You know, like in basketball, your bench, you could structure it for defense, for passing plays, for, you know, three-point percentage, you know, in football as well. You know, your starters, everything’s different in those types of sports. With hockey, since these guys do play consistently and get thrown out there, you know, even 10, 12 minutes a game, they need to be fresh. They need to be able to score. And that’s exactly what this management team has done this year in assembling. I mean, you know, you look at a guy like Valardi, even like I said, he started the year off slow, you know, but you look at his last couple of games, he’s been abs five games, he’s been absolutely insane. Uh, and again, that that’s just kind of what Valard’s game has been. He’s just blossomed into this amazing complete player for the Jets that compliments Connor and Shifley so well and compliments the power play and I still think is one of the most underrated guys in front of the net in the NHL. I think he might be one of the most deadly offensive players in the NHL when it comes to in front of the net. Uh he just has just developed into that over the last couple of years playing on that line on that top power play last year and it’s just incredible to watch especially when you think about what you know Dubois was doing for this club uh and what the Jets have been able to kind of develop outside of this that trade. I I again I think it’s just they’ve always found a way to come out looking and smelling like roses and that’s exactly what this Jets team is doing to start this year. They’re playing gritty hockey. They’re finding ways to win even if it’s ugly games and the top guys are performing at a crazy rate at as of late. So, you know, that’s all you could really be asking for with guys coming back. Lowry and Pphetti are skating in non-conts. They’re getting close, but Lowry is even closer than Perfetti. Once he gets Samber back, it’s going to lock things up defensively even more. and the way that the Jets are already playing right now, you know, really excite things. If Nomesticov can keep playing this hot on the wing, that’s going to be great with Lowry coming back. Ta has been on a, you know, heater as of late and is just getting better and better with each game. I’m going to be talking about him in a video, uh, very, very soon. So, again, you just, how can you not love what’s going on with the Jets right now to start this year? A lot of us were concerned going into the start of this year because of the injuries. You didn’t really know what to expect. They might, you know, being a 500 team, maybe they could be a couple games above that. But the Jets are right in the race again for the President’s Trophy to start this year without the without those guys that are really important to the foundation of what this club’s identity is. So the top line’s playing fantastic. I’, like I said, bet against any line in the in hockey right now. I think I’d take the Jets over that top line over any other line in hockey. Incredible hockey as of late. And yeah, it’s a great time to be a Jets fan as usual. So if you’re new to this channel, you haven’t subscribed, make sure to do so. GO JETS GO!
Go Jets! Bring the cup home to Canada!
The Jets best #1 line in the NHL right now.
Jets suck lol

Kyle Connor is becoming a great playmaker. Vilardi is going to benefit a lot by being on that line as Connor matures into a more well-rounded player.
Gabe is shaping up to be a finisher in the goal area with his large physical size and quick hands. He can work magic in tight spaces. I think the next step for him is to work on deflections which will open up the offensive prowess of Morrissey and other defenseman.
