  1. I think a lot of people don’t realize just how rare success is in a league with more than a dozen teams is. It is pretty common for teams to win multiple championships when their window is open, and for contenders to make deep playoff runs for most of a decade, so the typical team tends to have around half the success you would expect over a given timeframe.

In a 32 team league, this would mean that a typical team is likely to make the playoffs about 16 times, make it to the second round or further 8 times, third round or further 4 times, finals twice, and win once in a 48 to 64 year period. A small number of teams (4 to 8) will have dynasties in that period and greatly outperform these typical teams, and a handful of teams (4 to 8) will fail to come close to this kind of record.

  2. Told my girlfriend it was like getting kicked in the nuts over and over again. She said it was like someone gave her a pair of nuts just to kick them

  3. Flames losing in seven in 04…

Jays losing in game seven in 25….

Both with a chance to close it out at home (game six for the Flames)….

Both with a bunch of weird shit happening….

Both having their chance at running it back to try again lost by a lockout….

    This fucking sucks
