After 10 years we are still the last small market to win the World Series

  1. And 90 feet from tying up game seven and then (maybe) going back to back, 10 years before the highest-paid team in the history of the game broke a 25 year drought.

  2. Honestly still riding the high. Franchises go generations without a World Series. I’d love to see them do it again, but I know that the stars have to align fully.

  3. Needs to be a salary cap.

Yes, small market teams can get lucky and make the playoffs (and maybe occasionally win one).

But the big spenders ALMOST guarantee themselves the playoffs, and are extremely likely to win multiple WS titles.

It’s just not fair to the fans.

  4. I think regardless of the outcome of this WS we would still be the last “small market” team to win. Toronto is massive.
