  1. As Bluejays and Hashin Tigers fan, I always believed him, he has always haunted my nightmares but now….he IS the nightmare.

Hope he becomes an all time great Dodgers pitchers.

  2. This tweet won’t hang in the Louvre but it can definitely hang in the r/agedlikemilk museum if one did exist.

  3. All I can say Yoshi performance will lead to more big money being thrown to Japanese players

  4. The only difference between that tweet and our comments on reddit every day is we’re not famous.

  5. Even knowing what we know now it was still remarkable. All we had to go off was his WBC starts against other MLB hitters. It was a huge risk and it paid off.

When Darvish came over he was the 31st highest paid SP on a 6 year deal. Yoshi signed the biggest contract in total value for any pitcher ever.

  6. I mean, it’s a fair question. The Dodgers have been overwhelmingly proven right, but at the time, it’s an entirely fair question.

  7. Sorry, I’ve only been following MLB for 7 years. Who is Josh Reddick?

Also, what a Reddickulous thing to say.

  8. I never thought he would be bad cuz Japanese players are mostly good and even his name has Yoshi in it

  9. Josh Reddick will never get over the fact that the Dodgers traded him because he was a substandard player and that the Dodgers keep shoving crow down his throat! Keep hating dude!

  10. He also anchored LA’s rotation all season when everyone else was hurt/recovering. I don’t think Yama missed a single start this year, which itself is kinda wild in this day and age.

  11. It’s not really a dumb take. It’s a valid question. Giving that much money to a guy who hasn’t even thrown a pitch in the majors, is serious commitment. I’m not sure the comment is really anything to be outraged over.

If Yamamoto turned out to be a scrub then people would harken back to this comment and be like ‘yeah, he was right’.

Yamamoto backed it up, and that’s kudos to him. Doesn’t mean Reddick’s comment from the time of signing is wrong.
