I dont remember people being upset about Jake more upset about losing our captain.
I was never upset about signing Guentzel. It made sense from the start.
I was gutted that we couldn’t work out a deal to keep Stammer on board as well. I think most of us had hoped he’d accept a team friendly deal to end his career here but he (rightfully) chased that bag.
I just genuinely questioned if that massive of a contract was a good idea at his age. And I still question that. If he’ll just be a guaranteed buyout as he ages…..OK, I suppose….
So wild that girgensons had more goals than Stammer
I was more mad my favorite player, the heart and soul of the team and the face of the franchise was no longer on the team.

No one was upset about the decision. It was more about seeing our boy head out. Jake has been a great add at a great price. Would do it 100/100 times

Funny, bumped into a Preds fan a little while ago in Salt Lake City, and he asked if I missed Stamkos. Of course I do but business is business. We couldn’t sign him for the money he wanted and Guentzel was a better signing. Thank you, Julien. Stammer will always be a Bolt and his home will always be in Tampa but what happened makes sense on every level.
