I won’t blame him for anything after Mills came into the game, but those two 1st and goal from the 1 yard line sequences was absolutely horrendous. I’m at a loss for words for some of this play calling.

We were moving the ball well with CJ – just got very unlucky that he was hurt and we had to rely on Mills to take on what is probably the 2nd best defense in the league.

I thought we would play for OT. Our defense checked out and did you see how many field goal linemen just stood up at the end? We had a blocked field goal but we didn’t finish with any effort

I do think Caley has shown some growth since the start of the season but clearly still has a lot of work to do. My question is what candidates do y’all have in mind if we fire Caley at the end of the year.
Here’s the reality unfortunately: nick caley isn’t getting fired during the season, this is a 6-7 win team, and a historic defensive season is gonna be wasted

Offensive line coach absolutely needs to go, I think the OC should definitely be in the conversation to go as well, have the dolphins fired their coach yet? He might suck as a HC but I believe he was a decent coordinator and I don’t want anymore first year guys.
I think if Caserio isn’t out it needs to be on the understanding that he either gets that line working or he’s done. I don’t want to see us sign some flashy receiver, runningback, secondary player or D line, outside of MAYBE DT. I want all efforts to be on the o line.

Oline was already lower third in league and we were banged up today.
Stroud is out for half the game.
Chubb is a washed power back that couldn’t overpower half the high school teams in Texas.
So what do you call vs the #1 redzone defense in the NFL?
Who would we even hire. Like are there multiple REALISTIC options? This season all the coaches had potential and Caley was on the top of the list.
The Texans need to begin a full court press to hire Mike McDaniel as OC as soon as possible, and possibly early and illegally begin talks, if they can get away with it.
Caley is only a modest improvement over Slowik in some areas, and a reduction in quality in others. His hiring is a failed experiment.
IMO DeMeco has built such a vicious defense that he deserves another shot as HC next season and the team needs to acquire the best OC they can so that we can see what we can do.
Everyone was hyping Caley like crazy in the offseason it’s almost like it’s impossible to know how good of a coach someone is going to be.

I’m officially done with this team for the year. Any football team whose offense relies on Field Goals for the majority of its points is doomed to failure. In the NFL, you have to score touchdowns to win.
Today in a vacuum was not the worst OC job ever. But the continued red zone incompetence is frightening, no team can win games when they always fail in the red zone and all one score games will turn into losses.
And replace him with who? Jerrod Johnson? Another coach with zero play calling experience? We’re riding with Caley until the end of the season whether y’all like it or not.

Idk what game y’all are watching, mills and receivers had opportunities, a lot of bad ball placement/receivers not coming down with tough grabs due to not ideal placement was the difference in the game. CJ would have got it done.
The way DeMeco looked after they were stuffed twice on the 1, I think he feels the same way lol
Literally everyone from Caley on up to Caserio needs to go.
