Per the Athletic, the Eagles have the toughest remaining schedule in the NFL (based on remaining opponent’s combined SB odds)

  1. How can the Bills be last when they have to play us, the Bucs, Steelers, and the Patriots?

  2. Eagles have:

    Packers 5-2-1

    Lions 5-3

    Cowboys 3-4-1

    Bears 5-3

    Chargers 6-3

    Raiders 2-6

    Commanders 3-6

    Bills 6-2

    Commanders 3-6

Combined = 43-35-2, which counts the Commander record twice.

Realistically they only have one “easy” game left with the Raiders. If the Commanders are without Daniels for the rest of the season those could be “easier”, but those are still divisional games, which are never gimmes.

I wouldn’t say it’s exactly daunting, but it’s certainly no walk in the park.

  3. Hmm surprising since we don’t play ourselves.

But we do play Packers, Lions, and Bills. I imagine after 2 weeks we jump way up this list.

  4. Why are cowboy fans saying that they have the toughest remaining schedule? 😂

  5. From BetMGM (I’m not linking to a gambling site):
Eagles’ opponents remaining SB odds as of now:

    Week| Opponent | SB Odds | Ranking
    —|—|—-|—-
    10 | Packers | +1000|6
    11| Lions | +850|3
    12| Cowboys| +15000|20
    13| Bears | +10000|17
    14 | Chargers| +2800|12
    15 | Raiders | +100000|27
    16 | Commanders | +50000|25
    17 | Bills | +600|2
    18 | Commanders| +50000|25

Eagles are +850. Lowest is KC at +550.

If you’re wondering why the schedule is considered tough despite some easy opponents (Washington x2, Dallas, Las Vegas), we’re also facing 3 of the top 6 teams in terms of SB odds.

  6. When you look at the total wins of all the opponents Eagles defeated, it is significantly greater than the next best team which I think might be the Niners or Steelers?

Just saying the Eagles already played quality opponents and pretty much beat most of them while the teams that are higher up on the power rankings haven’t shown what they are like against better competition. They are good at winnings games against lesser opponents.

  7. Packers, Lions, Cowboys, Bears, Chargers is the stretch that matters, Commanders are chum and Bills game could not even matter by WK17.

  8. I remember earlier in the season when they all said we had a tough schedule to start, but it would get easier starting with the Giants. Well whatever. We aren’t locked in here with them, they are locked in here with US!!! GO BIRDS!!

  9. Eagles have a brutal schedule this year. It’s not like it was easy then it’s going to be hard. It’s been hard from the start, the only “easy” games on the schedule is the raiders and the giants which they lost one lol. If they end up with 5 losses that would be super impressive.

  10. And we’ve already played the Broncos, Rams, Bucs, and Chiefs. Insane gauntlet this year.

  11. These next three weeks are gonna define our season. If we beat GB, Detroit, and Dallas, the one seed will effectively be ours. If we lose the next three weeks, the season is basically over. Can’t stress enough how clutch this year’s bye was.

  12. I no longer believe this statistic because every publication has it different it feels and it changes week to week. It’s dumb and meaningless.

You win or you don’t. We’re defending Super Bowl champs who seem to have started getting things together (at 6-2, mind you).

    Fuck this. Go birds.

  13. What a stupid list. Who cares about playoff odds… What is the most difficult schedule based off of record right now. That is what matters. Not who some computer thinks is good. The Athletic has sucked for a few years now unfortunately.

  14. If Daniels is done for the season, it doesn’t look that bad to me.

The schedule was brutal going into the season, and they have played both games against the Giants, probably their weakest opponent. However, the Raiders are trash and the BEars are not legit. If Daniels is out, the Commanders are bad, too.

It’s a tough schedule, but it always has been.

  15. I feel like somehow the Eagles end up with the toughest schedule every single year. But then when the Eagles win a lot of games, excuses about injuries on other teams start being made.

  16. No way this is an actual difficulty metric. We’ve got raiders, commanders twice, cowboys, then a bunch of teams that are solid to good.

You’re telling me there’s no team with a harder schedule than that?

Eagles should probably end the season with 11-12 wins as a floor

  17. Is it a straight average? I ask because these SOS rankings are usually stupid in CFB where playing Alabama then Stanford is viewed as the same as playing two mid teams when that’s far from the case for a ranked team that can easily beat middle of the pack teams but struggles with elite talent. Not as big of a deal in the NFL where everyone’s dangerous.

  18. Is this really of any use right now? You’ve got 17 teams that have between five and seven wins. Every week is going to change dramatically.

  19. Ehh records can be deceiving. The eagles have 4 tough games in the packers, bills, chargers, lions.

They have 4 cake walks in my opinion in the cowboys, commies 2x, and raiders.

And the swing game is the bears, though if I am being completely honest I’m probably putting them in the easy category.

This opinion is based on the teams as they stand today and can completely change with injury or a team like the bears finding consistency.

It’s a tough schedule but without really looking I doubt it’s the hardest, especially when you start looking at home vs away, what day and time the game is and all that stuff.

There is simply no excuse for this eagles team not win this division and make the playoffs at this point.

  20. If we come off the bye 3-0 we can finish the season 13-4 and first seed with our backups winning a few games lmao.
