Here's the full list, with the Cards mentioned in detail as part of the intro:
For the second straight offseason, our list of the top offseason trade candidates will be heavy in St. Louis Cardinals. The Cards opened last offseason by announcing that 2025 would be John Mozeliak’s last year as president of baseball operations and that former Rays/Red Sox exec Chaim Bloom would be stepping into the role. The Cardinals spoke of opening opportunity for young players and trimming payroll, but no-trade clauses for several pricey veterans and a few surprising decisions to hang onto players going into their final season of control largely kept them off the market. This time, things are different. Several Cards veterans have voiced a willingness to waive their no-trade rights, and Bloom figures to be far more aggressive in dealing from the roster he’s now running.
Then an explanatory note:
Before we get to the list, a note on methodology. This isn’t a strict ranking of players’ trade value, nor is it solely about likelihood of being moved. We’re trying to balance both of those things, an inherently subjective exercise.
Then the list.
After the top duo, JoJo Romero is No. 25, Gorman 30, Arenado 34, Contreras 35. Explanatory notes on all, including MLBTR citing Bloom saying he will NOT DFA Arenado. (That's just words, though; see "Yamamoto is not pitching Game 7.")

Surprised jojo is so low
I don’t really care what happens as long as Mikolas isn’t on the roster come spring training
People should want our guys, it seems when we trade a player they win a play off championship or even a World Series. *cough Tommy Edman *
We’re the Good Luck Chuck of baseball. 😭
I just don’t know how Gray has any trade value at all with that back loaded deal. If anything, he and Arenado will be salary dumps.
Trade as many of them as you can except Contreras (for vet presence and some kind of exciting thing to watch while we suck)
I think you shouldn’t wanna go into the offseason trading Donovan because while he’s still one of the “older” guys in the lineup hes young enough to be apart of what the cardinals wanna build
That being said, if you can get a top pitching prospect or two you gotta consider it
Donovan will probably get them the best return, as he can flat out hit, and hangs in their versus lefties pretty good, and is under team control for a little while.
This tracks. Donovan is the biggest trade piece. And for his sake, I hope he gets out.
Assume Gray will have a market.
I assume Arenado will not.
I put almost no stock in what that website’s writers think.
If Brendan Donovan gets traded, I will self immolate on field
It depends entirely on the return. If we don’t get some serious upside in return I’d probably rather watch Herrera and Donovan at the ballpark. Everyone else can go for the sake of the farm
I wonder if the Mets would bite for a trade involving Tong and McLean
I want Donny to never change teams and to never grow old. I want to be able to turn to my grandchildren and say, “See that guy in ~~RF~~ ~~LF~~ ~~2B~~ ~~1B~~ 3B with three hits tonight? That was my favorite player when I was your age.”
On the real though, Donovan is the heart of the team and such an excellent example for the young guys. It wouldn’t feel like The Cardinals anymore without our Heart & Hustle.
Trade anyone that brings positive assets. Honestly, anyone on the 40 man should be available. That includes Winn.
So many people don’t understand why Donovan being the best player on the Cardinals is a problem.
Man I just got a Donny jersey too.
