Quinn Hughes & Head Coach Adam Foote Pre-Game Media | Canucks at Predators (Nov 3, 2025)
Well, Adam Foot said it. You’re back in the game tonight against Nashville after missing four games. Just where are you at physically? How are you feeling? I feel good and excited to play. So, yeah. The frustration that comes obviously with being out for a couple games and you get back in. Where’s your just energy and your excitement especially just being back around the team? Yeah, I mean obviously it’s the worst missing games and uh felt really good coming in the season too. So, um it is what it is. I mean, with the schedule, I think everyone’s going to be going through things, but yeah, excited to be back. Last time you guys saw Nashville, which was just under two weeks ago, was close game 2-1. And then the team’s coming off that game against Minnesota. Another close one where the team put up a good fight. But what do you want to see from your group today in this one? I mean, we’ve been playing hard and um I mean, obviously two points would be nice, but uh we’ll just focus on the first 20 and trying to play fast and um you know, apply pressure on them. Last time you guys were here, it was only less than two weeks ago. We faced Nashville in 2-1. Close game. What do you want to see from your group this time around? Yeah, that’s that was, you know, we that was a long time ago. It seems like a long time ago. It was only two weeks ago, but I mean, they’re they’re going to play hard. They’re going to play a gritty game. Um, you know, their captain’s out, so you know, we got to make sure that we’re on them and and, you know, worry about what we’re doing. Uh, you know, and it’s nice that we get Huggy back tonight. You do. So, their captains are your captains. And, um, what I did not start that story. You did, but yeah, I like it. I like it. I was going to say that, but I’m glad you said it. Um, anyway, go on. I’ll ask you later. How about mine? How exciting is that to have your captain back in the lineup? What does it add to the group? It’s great. I mean, you know, guys have been hanging on. We’ve had a lot of It’s no secret what’s been going on with our team and we’re we’re getting through it. Guys are getting better through the process. And you know, we get Huggy back and then, you know, I know Garly’s close and then Bluger is the next one probably back. And then and it’s nice uh that we’re getting guys playing good minutes for us and getting reps and you know, we’re facing teams that are uh very desperate. Mini, St. Louis, and they’ve been attacking us hard and and we’re we’re facing it and dealing with it and uh we’re getting better. Do you So you got some offense from OK Conor and Ratu’s been getting some big faceoff wins for you. like that part of your lineup really pulling things along. What’s nice like uh you know there’s such a hard matchup on PD right now with uh you know you saw him defend so well against McDavid line five on five and we’re in a situation with the injuries that he it’s hard to get him away from a hard matchup uh which I’m just so happy the way he’s playing in it. He’s playing in the mud. He’s playing in the dirt. It’s not easy. And um you know to see Ratty win some draws. I know Connor finally get a couple where he’s been doing the right thing. he’s hard on for four checks, things like that. Uh, you know, it’s been probably weighing on them and to get those two probably relieve him a little bit and um, you know, it’s nice to get, you know, a third line, a fourth line to chip in there. There’s so little to choose most nights and last time you’re in here, I think, was a perfect example of where special teams can make or break you. Um, are you getting to the point now where you hope it’s law of averages or are you a little concerned with sort of the the way the ledger’s been looking on your special teams? No, because you look at last year if we go back like you know I was doing the PK and it took it took till after Christmas till we were it’s such a funny thing with the most underrated part of a PK in my opinion is what you do up ice and how they enter on you and to get guys doing the right thing on entries is huge in the kill and it just takes time. Um, you know, especially you lose a couple good killers. You lost your two killers, Bugger and Sudter out, and other guys are playing in a stronger role. Garly really nailed it last year. Uh, real strong penalty killer. We’re missing him. So, but it gives other guys the reps and yeah, you you want a perfect day and have all your guys there, but if you can get other guys in and when we get them all back, we’re just going to be better for it. And we just have to survive this. And and guys are getting guys are getting reps they most normally wouldn’t get. And maybe that’s the way we got to look at it, right? Of the guys who have been getting reps, particularly forwards in the absence of say Garland and and Luger, who’s kind of I just who’s caught your eyes being an option down the road? It’s so nice to see Pey getting it like getting the structure and understanding the kill. Um like, you know, when we were all healthy, we probably don’t want to use Pey as much, but when you have your your your best players killing at times, they can make plays. They can they can be a threat. Um, and um, you know, I love how he’s killing. I think Ratty’s really coming along uh, with the kill as well. Not only is he, you know, he can win the faceoffs, but I feel like he’s starting to really get it. And he enjoys his role. He enjoys, he’s a good team guy. And, um, you know, so, a couple guys got the reps that might not have gotten. And I’m just so happy to see Pey doing really good on the

He looks GREAT! So refreshing to see him out of armour -He still looks like he could slay dragons!
This team is not longer enjoyable to watch. We spend as a family THOUSANDS of dollars a year on this team. Well, we're out. Not until theres a new owner, and full management staff.
ADAM FOOTE PREACH. Petey has been playing fkn good. But its hard with all the injuries
Omd guys he’s smiling sooo much
That thumbnail smile reminds me of Gi Hun from squid game season 1. It's a sign, we're winning it all guys!
