“It was definitely a whirlwind.” | Oliver Moore Pregame 11.3.25
getting in NHL ranks again and everything. Just kind of looking around, taking in the moment. Yeah, I mean any chance you get to play in the NHL? Obviously, it’s pretty it’s the best league in the world. So, uh everything’s obviously high class here and yeah, I mean this ring’s pretty cool like I was just saying. Oh, yeah. It’s going be fun. What do you think of it? It’s kind of a unique arena. Yeah. Yeah. I mean, the lighting the lighting is pretty funny. I mean, feels like I was in it’s like a blend of an NHL rink and then you get those youth hockey rings sometimes with the with the light coming in through the sun. You get some bad ice, but no, it’s obviously great rink. I love love the architecture. It’s great. They they pull the curtain over at night. They do. Yeah. I mean, I was going to say it probably wouldn’t affect it anyway just with Yeah. No sun at night. Yeah. Anyway, what was yesterday like for you in terms of getting the news? Yeah, I mean it was definitely a whirlwind. Uh I was getting ready to be bust out to Grand Rapids as a team. uh getting ready to go play a game, just kind of like lacing up my skates and uh Nick Anderson just pulled me into the coach’s office and was just like, “Yeah, you’re going up.” So I was like, “All right.” And just hopped on a flight, came here, got in and uh it’s great to be here. Obviously, I didn’t get a ton of sleep last night, but I don’t think that matters. So, uh got a lot of energy. I’m ready to go. So, you’re paying attention to the roster. You see, oh, Jason Dickson’s missed a couple of games here. They might need a body. You start thinking it might be you, or do you not let yourself think about things like that? Uh I didn’t I didn’t really look at that. Uh, obviously I hope Dickiy’s healthy and everything’s good there, but I didn’t really didn’t really know that was going on to be honest. Uh, was just trying to play hockey and uh, win games. So, I didn’t know that was going on, but yeah, it’s good to be here. What did you think your timet was going to be in Rockford? Like, what what was your expectation for this season for when you might get a call? Uh, yeah. I think the expectation was for me to just go down there and uh, play winning hockey and uh, dominate and uh, try to do that down there. I think the first thing Kyle told me was just uh make us make a spot for you. So uh that’s kind of obviously I was just trying to play hockey down there, have fun and be loose and play my game, but uh you know I’m grateful to be here to produce at the level you were down there. How confident are you feeling right now coming into this? Yeah, I definitely feel a lot more confident uh just being able to get games down there and like you said, build confidence, produce, uh create scoring chances offensively and play a lot of minutes in all situations. I think it’s it definitely it’s never going to hurt your development doing that and oh yeah I mean grateful for the time the nine games on there and the guys too. It was awesome. So it’s tough because like you know you you need to be patient but you also see other young guys making an impact right away. You want to be a part of that. How do you balance that? How do you how do you how do you how do you find the patience when you want to be up here and play? Uh yeah obviously the goal is to play in the NHL. Uh but at the same time I mean everyone’s timetable looks different. I mean, you look down the down the rosters of Stanley Cup winning teams, there’s a lot of guys who have played in the American League before. So, it’s not really I didn’t try to look at it as a step back, more of a step forward for my development. Uh, being able to play those minutes, like I said, and uh it’s just going to prepare you for whatever your ceiling’s going to be. And, uh, that’s all I’m going to try to do is just be be the best version of myself. So, I’m not going to put a limit on it, that’s for sure. Uh, no reason to put a limit on it, but just try to get better every day. Yeah. What are the biggest things that you feel like you worked on or improved down there? Uh like I like I said, I mean any chance you get to play in pro hockey and play those kind of minutes, you learn a lot, I think. And uh yeah, I think pking just details of the pro game. Uh the schedule’s different. Obviously, the American League schedule is different than the NHL schedule, but just playing games a lot. Uh taking care of your body and yeah, I mean, I think trying to take what I did from the summer and and translate it onto the ice. How important was those games you had at the end of last year so that this doesn’t overwhelm you or that your adrenaline isn’t spiking too high? Yeah, definitely huge. I feel like uh getting a good taste. Obviously, we played in some important games last year, too. And uh it feels like coming in here every every game’s going to be really important for us and trying to win hockey games. So, uh yeah, I mean it definitely prepared me uh over the summer especially. I think just learning what I have to improve on and I feel like it’s definitely paying off so far. So, look to keep that going. What did you see from Nardis on there? Yeah, he’s obviously came in one of my best buddies on there for sure. He’s such an easy guy to get along with and uh he’s an unbelievable hockey player. I think you know I’ve talked about it before, but just he produces so he finds ways to to know put the puck in the back of the net obviously and uh yeah, I mean he’s super easy guy to play with too. Him and Brett Senior were made my transition so much easier as well. off. Okay for flat.
