That second half comeback was legit. Keyonte & Lauri turned it on that 3rd quarter and we played with lots of intensity that was missing earlier in the game.
-Keyonte George was the spark, like I mentioned. He was the best player on the Jazz, and arguably the best player on the floor tonight. His effort on defense is much improved. I hope it continues through the season, and isn’t just an early-season fluke. I’ve been pretty harsh and down on Keyonte in general, but I’m really coming around. He’s been legit so far, the work he put in during the offseason is noticeable! 31 points, 9-16 shooting, 2-5 from 3, 11-13 from the line (I LOVE THIS), 5 rebounds, 4 assists, 2 steals, and 1 turnover!
-Lauri Markkanen had a good third quarter as well, but struggled the rest of the night. His first “dud” of the season actually wasn’t too bad. Despite leading the game with 4 turnovers, he still finished with a respectable 20 points on 7-17 shooting, 2-6 from 3, 4-4 from the line, 9 rebounds (4 offensive), and 2 assists. He’s allowed a dud game here and there, he’s been nuclear this season so far.
-Flip filled in really nice off the bench. I think that moving him down there was a smart move, unlike some people in this sub. He led the team with +/-, and put in 13 points on 4-7 shooting, 2-3 from deep, 3-5 from the line, 8 rebounds, 1 block, 2 TO, and 4 fouls.
-I’m pretty disappointed with Hendricks so far this season. I was expecting a jump from him coming off of his injury. He’s looked slow, hasn’t found an offensive rhythm, and just hasn’t been a factor on either side of the floor much this season. Outside of yesterday vs Charlotte, he has scored just 9 points after the season opener in a combined 5 games. Not good, Bob. 2 points today, 1-5 shooting, 0-1 from deep, 3 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 turnover, 14 minutes.
-Svi really struggled shooting today. 1-8 from 3, 4-12 overall, 6 rebounds, 1 assist, 9 points. I think he provided some good on ball defense, and hustle. I’ve noticed he runs a lot. He picks up rebounding assignments, moves the ball in the system, it makes sense why Hardy likes him. Just need his shot to fall a bit more.
-Nurk started in place of the injured Kessler, and was pretty solid in his minutes. 11 points, 5-12 shooting, 11 rebounds (4 offensive), 4 assists, and a block. 3 turnovers isn’t great, but I’m not mad at his performance overall. He had a terrible 3 seconds call late in the 4th which hurt a lot, but made up for it with the game winner putback. If you think of him strictly as a backup, he’s a pretty solid backup, and his ball-handling and passing is solid for a big man.
-Ace Bailey played 18 minutes tonight, shot 2-4 for 4 points, 2 rebounds (1 offensive), 2 turnovers, and 3 fouls. He was a +11 in his minutes, but he didn’t really have the impact we’ve been wanting. I still chalk it up to him getting over his sickness, and I applaud him for trying to play in the system. I got faith in the rook
-Harkless provided a spark, even though his box score stats aren’t good at all. 3 points, 1-4 shooting, 0-2 from deep, 1 rebound, 2 assists, 1 steal, 3 turnovers, 5 fouls. Terrible stats, but his minutes were productive, he was a big part of the second half spurt. His only bucket was a nice putback and-1 layup. The energy he brought coincided with our comeback.
-Walt has continued to impress me. He looks fairly polished already. 7 points, 3-4 shooting, 1-2 from 3, 3 rebounds, 6 assists, 1 steal. I wonder what’ll happen to his minutes when Collier comes back next week. I hope he doesn’t get booted from the rotation because I think he’s shown enough, but I don’t know how you make room for him in the rotation.
SloMo, Cody, and Brice were all DNP-CD.
If we would’ve played a complete game on both ends, this would’ve been an easy W. Putting up 38 points in an NBA half is disgusting, I’m glad that Keyonte woke up and decided to almost single-handidly bring us back into it in the 3rd quarter. Also, I’m pretty sure the mop boy sat TD Garden were not doing their job at all. There were like 3 straight possessions that somebody slipped at the top of the key lol
3-4! I’m conflicted personally because I fear that we have another 2022-2023 season on our hands where we decide to fully tank too late, but damn a comeback win like that sure helps build morale.
Really loved watching the bench react to guys like Love and Nurk doing their thing tonight. Just a fun team to watch so far this season. Win or lose, I’ve enjoyed watching all 7 games so far.
I don’t know what this team is and I don’t care to learn. I’m just here for the ride.
That slick spot might have won us the game lol
Game ending on a long-due Brown pushing foul call was quite poetic.
I’ve lost count of how many times Lauri has taken a shot the past two games that has bounced off the front of the rim.
Nurk game winner is unreal lmfao
Walt has been very underrated so far. Great game from him tonight
Key is the MIP. He might be very pricy when he’s extension eligible next offseason
Lauri is an All Star
The tank doesn’t improve, but Jusuf Nurkic’s trade value improves instead
Keyonte has grown so much
Told you we’d beat the Celtics!

The end of the game looked like we were about to sell.. shocked we won tbh
Its still going.
I don’t get the Brice DNP’s
Lmao, this game made me reinstall reddit just to watch the thread
Keyonte. Freaking. George.
Ive seen enough, nurkic gets a statue. Greatest jazz center of all time.
Great win and it’s been earned based on results so far but DNP CD for Brice just breaks my heart
This man Keyonte has been getting to the line like prime James harden/SGA his foul drawing is elite.
Good win, good energy and tempo especially in the 2nd half. Nice minutes from the bench tonight: Harkless, Flip, WCJ, Love, Ace. Celtics a funny constructed team currently. Great backcourt and absolutely terrible frontcourt.
Keyonte played controlled in a bunch of spots where in past years he would of chucked up a shot.
All of a sudden the 2-4 Never Going to Win Again Jazz are replaced by the 3-4 Dangerously Close to .500 We Need To Start Losing Jazz.
Keyonte is almost unrecognizable. 1 turnover. 31 points on 16 shots. Just an amazing start to the year for him so far.
The BOSNIAN BEAST! Fck the haters. Nurk owns this league.
