Evander Kane, Tom Willander & Adam Foote Post-Game Media | Canucks at Predators (Nov 3, 2025)

Well, I mean, we just talked about with Adam foot just the patience in that overtime. You guys grab it with two seconds left offer, but what did you think of the team’s performance as a whole in this one in order to grab that win? Yeah, I thought we were really good in the first two periods. Um, I thought we did a good job of taking it to them and spending some time on our own. I think we got to get better at learning how to play with the lead and not changing our game plan and and and retreating. I think uh we can do a bit bit better job with with that aspect and and being able to close out games a little bit better. But uh you know, we’re not going to complain about going two and one on the road trip. Not just your first, but also your second goal of the season. How’d it feel to find the back of the net tonight? Yeah, it was nice to to finally get one that counted and uh followed up with another one shortly after and um you know, looking hopefully that gets me on a roll. How important was this win just to close off the road trip and before you guys head home? Yeah, it was a big win. You know, it gets us back to 500 and you know, going home uh to play a couple of games was important and um now we have to start uh playing a little bit better at home. Well, let’s start with the fact you got your first NHL point tonight. Maybe take me through the play and just how it felt to grab it. I don’t know. I just got the puck. I felt like the ice pretty pretty open. So, just took some ice. Uh got a little bit of speed on the defender and just tried to go around him. I guess I got around him and just sent the puck and thought I saw someone in in the back. So, yeah. Well, not only did you get your first NHL point, you get it on a win as well. I mean, what did you think of the team’s performance through this and to battle all the way to the finish? Um, I think we went down a little bit in third, but I think uh all in all, I thought it was pretty good. Um, I thought, uh, especially in the second, we we were really able to to keep some pressure on him. Well, you get your captain back in the lineup as well. How important was that to your guys’ play tonight? Huge. He was great player. So, he’s just making plays everywhere. So, it’s fun to see. All right. Well, congratulations. Thank you. Well, we saw a lot of patience, especially in that overtime. You guys crab it just with less than two seconds left in the game. But what do you think of your team’s performance as a whole tonight? Well, we were all over them. They could have easily been up four or five goals and I mean they they missed they missed a couple calls and uh especially Kainers. It wasn’t a penalty at all and uh it was actually the other way. It was a diving call and uh they missed it. Uh Ker had a good game, but we like the way we hung in there. We resilient. I mean, you saw that goal they got to tie. It was just a breakdown as far as they hit a stick and then a screen shot. So um you know I was just happy that we uh stayed within oursel should have should have won that in the without OT for sure but that happens some nights. Tom Viner gets his first NHL point. Was that just a moment till it was going to come? Yeah he’s been playing good hockey for us. I I like his game right now. Um you know he’s got some poise with the puck and some confidence and uh it was nice to see that happen for him. How much did it add to have your captain back in the lineup tonight? It was nice. You know, we we all know what Huggy brings. Uh he was all over the place early in that game creating and uh you know, we our game plan worked down low in the offensive end and I thought we could have had a couple more. The goalie played good kept them in it. You think of the first 40 minutes, Adam? I know they pushed a bit in the third thanks to a couple. Yeah, but the third like we were all over them. I mean, completely all over them. There’s a couple missed calls. It happens, right? Everyone’s human, but uh I just like the way we were resilient and we we we stayed calm when they tied it. That’s that’s what I liked. The puck battle from Patterson on the winning goal was great. I mean, he you know, he we he was played really well tonight. I thought uh especially after the first 10 minutes, he got really going and uh we used him a lot and uh he played a smart game. Kane got one disallowed there on the on the road trip, so nice to see him finally get one in Canut colors. Yeah, I like this game tonight. He was moving with PD. Uh he was skate and moving his feet. So I’m happy for him. Uh and happy that we were able to get that win uh after you know what I don’t think he even touched the players. It’s nice for

  1. Kane, when he is focused he is VERY valuable on the ice. As long as he doesnt get his head wrapped in silly behaviour on and off the ice he will have a stong season. A season we need from him and his team.

  2. Ref made bad calls, and we have a pretty rough PK at the moment… mostly due to the injury situation.. Glad Foote called out the ref there, because it was an atrocious call late in the game. Good for Kane and Willander! Also, just shout out to EP40 for that pass to Boeser in the final seconds of OT… he really made that happen.
